Just great! We had a pool villa, not just cheap but worth every euro. The food was a dream and the staff incredibly friendly. The hotel just 1a!

Reception people are very rude no proper check in no proper shuttle service when you need all time set for it you have to book shuttle service 5 hours before for appointment that too if booked already you get next time after 1 hour on Sundays Indian restaurant is closed.

Great view, service and the Indonesian restaurant was good however the gym needs improvement.

Here on our Honeymoon Stayed in River side villa 37, with it's own pool. Absolute luxury with 24 hour Butler service. Never had a Butler before, such a friendly chap.
The villa is half way down the mountain side, with the river below. Entertaining sometimes when you see rafters going by, when lazing on the sun deck or in your own day bed gazebo.
In the evening you have the sunset opposite making setting the mood for dinner in the La View Restaurant near the top of the resort.
Best place for a Honeymoon xxx.

Very nice hotel with a view of the jungle. The rooms are very well equipped. The service is friendly. We didn't dine at the hotel which was not very well rated. On the other hand, the hotel notes the presence of a gym which on the other hand is not at all up to the task. 2 or 3 device including a treadmill that does not work.

Stayed three nights in a River Front Pool Villa for $430/night. While the location is great, the whole place is well past its prime and quite run down. Also the furniture feels random and more like a cheap Airbnb. Nothing you would expect at this price level. The restaurant had the worst food during our Bali trip. Service was very friendly, but you had to explain and ask a couple of times for everything. Also compared to the Ritz Carlton for example the river is not as natural, as there are stone walls on the shores, instead of it being in its original state. The massage therapists were to notch and so were the prices. Unfortunately the spa was quite central and therefore prone to loud outdoor noise.

I liked this Hotel but was disappointed at some problems I encountered on my Honeymoon. The resort is outdated and requires some updating. The private pool temperature is really cold and the hot water to take a bath wasn't working on the first day as well. Some of the Villas are not sound proof and I was hearing the neighbours TV until 2-3 in the morning and then the roaster at 6am. When I requested to move villas, I had a better experience but the TV wasn't working. Overall, I don't think this should be considered a 5 star resort. It has it's charm but alot of small issues that become very annoying. The staff is amazing though, they make you feel very special.

A very nice hotel. We enjoy the tropical vibe a lot. We stayed at the hotel, not the villas. It took maybe 5 minutes to go to the restaurant to have breakfast, but they have boogie car to bring you to the restaurant if you are not in the mood to walk. One complain was just somehow our toilet kept smelling like cow poop for a few nights. Perhaps it's just not our luck.

Very beautiful and romantic place to spend your weekend. I didn’t stay here but only stay at the restaurant for the dinner. Came earlier for the sunset and yes they have a romantic view from the restaurant or from the main pool. You could explore a bit more of the place and see the private dining room for couple. A bit far from Ubud center but it’s worth the driving.

Me and my fiance enjoyed every moment spent here — from breakfast to dinner. The staff were kind and helpful. The tours were are well worth doing and the tour guide's are lovely people. The facilities are good and we wanted for nothing! Absolutely recommend.

Kupu-Kupu Barong is perfect for our honeymoon, we take the Ayung River View Pool Villa. It has the great ambience, spacious room and bathroom, pool, bathtub. Free Gin, Vodka & Whiskey everyday. We also have delicious food (breakfast, lunch & dinner) at La View Restaurant. The staff & butler also nice with us. What an unforgettable moment in our life.

Amazing experience staying here. Treated like royalty and felt relaxed from start to finish. The staff are so helpful in every way and make you feel welcome and smile every time you see them. The views over looking the river was the cherry on top.

Staff ramah, namun ketika telpon untuk informasi kamar, respon sedikit kurang ramah. Harus diperbaiki lagi untuk petugas call service. Jika yang dicari adalah suasana tenang dengan pohon-pohon lebat, ini villa yang cocok! Suasana sangat nyaman. Kamar dengan ayung river wiew sangat indah. Air di private pool sangat dingin dan segar. Tapi… pencahayaan kamar sangat kurang. Harus ditambahkan lagi. Dan ada patung emas besar di dalam kamar, tidak semua orang nyaman dengan itu. Layanan buggy car baik. Sarapan pagi tidak banyak pilihan. Rasa standar.

Very nice hotel, nestled in the jungle, Occitan spa with very good massages by cons eccentric of Ubud (impossible to walk) and food very simple and little varied Super for this relax but you should not stay too long.

Quite and romantic. It's perfect for newlywed couple who want to waste a time just cuddling and enjoy the natural environment. I wish I could come to this place another time!

Great reception (we are in Bali). A view of the jungle mating the breath. We are on the mountainside (attention, it rises to go from a swimming pool to a restaurant of the hotel). We are quite far from the center and you have to reserve the shuttle (free) If you do not want to stay "stuck" in the hotel. The massages are top but excessively expensive.

This hotel is great, the rooms have a great view to the forest and are quite elegant decorated with wood everywhere. It is a bit pricey but worth the money. Service is great but you feel sometimes too spoiled. We did not like the other buildings where the restaurants are, as they are a bit old fashioned. The pools are good but could have been better.

Perfect to disconnect, the best the views and the breakfast already so worth going. This section of Ubud but very close bone that is not a problem and the staff of the hotel perfect. The only downside like Kupu Kupu Jimbaran are the daily menus. Very limited and without options. The right room. If I would go back to this hotel.

The Indian curry was delicious and the view very nice! However, the staff is not very attentive, we had to visit someone to pay.

Amazing staff, good food in restaurant and room service, shuttle to centre 10mins away 4 times a day. We stayed in a 2 bedroom pool villa. Great if you want some privacy as there can be separate, but also can open up area in between to join rooms if you have children. The property is large and gardens are beautifully kept, very pretty, traditional Balinese style with modern twist We loved it, would definitely stay again Thanks Tiger, your customer service was impeccable.

You bent over backwards to assist us, nothing was a problem. We can not fault the amazing service. Ms Ayu you are an amazing lady! We sincerely thank you and your staff from the bottoms of our hearts. Kupu Kupu Barong it’s very sad to be leaving you, but we can not wait to return to celebrate our wedding anniversaries.

It is nice. Order dinner at the villa but the beef burger was not cooked well and smelled badly, I did contact them and they apologized for their mistake and sent me even worse than the ones before. Staff were friendly. The villa was clean. The view was beautiful.

Fantastic location, absolute jungle feeling, very aufnerksames staff, which reads every wish from the eyes, very good wellness offer with exceptional rooms… I felt completely at ease. Only the bathroom could tolerate a little more care.

One of the best villas I've ever stay. The view with Ayung river is so perfect, very beautiful. Excellent service, good resto, and breakfast at bird nest is so great experienced. Kupu-kupu Barong must be a good place to your choice, specially for honeymoon with your couple.

Very nice place. A bit far away but there are shuttles. The most beautiful rooms are really amazing.

Room is nice but the complex is very large to us, they put us close to the lobi in a second floor without elevator trai out of service for a few roads in bad condition in front of a gym if you can call it that, (older machines and in a very bad state, and this q all obsolete hard-working people is very attentive and very good people to have the normal breakfast throwing regular pool small and not well located.

The staff of the establishment is charming. Located as if you were in the jungle, comfortable villas with air-con. A bit far from Ubud, at 5 kms but it's not worse for the quiet…

Amazing experience! perfect for honeymoon. Private villa was so cozy, you don't want to get up from bed. staff is perfect, make you feel special. Butler service is incredible. japanese food was the best, the other doesn't bother, better go to Ubud. Breakfast is good. gym is awful though, all the aerobics equipment doesn't work.

Laying in my Jungle Villa bed posting just before we depart, came for the first leg of our honeymoon and we're extremeeeeely pleased! Beautiful view of the jungle from our Villa. Room itself has dark cherry wood all over and wall to wall windows with a large curtain. Water pressure was like a fire hose in the shower! EVERY staff members treated us with a smile and made sure we had everything we needed! They were happy to explain things we didn't understand. Wait staff were also incredible! Ordered food was outstanding. Breakfast buffet was good but could be better. Pancakes and eggs to order were awesome! 90 minute massage left me drooling! Just an amazingly run hotel. Not your average location, sits on side of a hill and walk ways are very steep which makes for a unique experience!

My stay at kupu kupu barong will be my most cherished stay of my life. The staff is so warm friendly and welcoming especially our Butler Adi who was always there help us. It's a dream come true staying in this jungle retreat with the most amazing view. All the facilities offered were perfect to the minutest detail. I honestly loved the place. And would want to visit the place again in future. The Indian made the awesome food for us and made us feel at home! Thank u so much.

Amazing place, hands down the best resort I've stayed in! My husband and I just left from the river front pool villa and wish we stayed longer. Large villa, comfy bed, clean, and the private pool was great. Our view of the river was good and so quiet and peaceful. Amazing breakfast buffet with fresh food and eggs any way you want. Gorgeous views throughout entire property. The staff was great, so kind and helpful, every person had a smile on their face. Butlers greeted us by name every time. It was so easy calling for a golf cart ride from our villa to breakfast or dinner and we only ate one meal outside the resort because their food was so good. Morning yoga class was great as well. I had a headache one day and they had no problem bringing medicine to our room. Laundry service was very convenient and the daily cocktails were yummy! Can't say enough positive things about this place, the pictures don't do it justice. If you're in Ubud, this is the place to stay, totally worth the money. Hope we can return soon!

The setting is really nice, quiet, 3 pools, the staff is adorable, the rooms clean. Only problem on my side, food… Often very average.

Such an amazing location. Rain forest villas with amazing staff. All so welcoming and genuine, not just looking for tips as you find in many places. Only downside is breakfast is a tad on the basic side and could do with some fruit fly pest control. Some areas are a bit worn out around the venue but this comes with the territory, literally nature taking back over!

I'll tell you why: 1. It's gorgeous! Considering its age, the property still maintain its prime condition. Yes, there are some minor maintenance problem here and there. But overall, good option to stay. 2. The view: just gorge! Take the River Front or the River View villas. You'll enjoy a magnificent view over Ayung river. 3. Friendly staffs. Like really. Friendly!

Beautifully serene outlook with our villa with private infinity pool sitting nestled against the steep edge of the hillside looking across the valley with the river tumbling below. Other than that and the chirping of birds, not a sound. Wonderfully friendly staff and great facilities. The best place for a peaceful, relaxing getaway.

Only very reactive service, maintenance of our Villa (no. 7) defective, as well as the communal pool. Nice staff, but only superficial service Quality. Great location in Nature. As a brand ambassador for L ' L'Occitane probably not quite optimal…

I stayed there with my family last week. We had an amazing stay. Absolutely all the staff were very caring and attentive and always had a warm smile on their face and they made feel so comfortable all the time. The food in all of the restaurants was very delicious and fresh, the indonesian, the japanese and the view we loved them all. Waking up in the mornings was a magical experience, no need for alarms because you have the birds chirping, the sound of the ayung river and the morning light along with the jungle mist. The nature and the greenery around the hotel are just breathtaking. Lots of regards to all of the butlers and the staff in the restaurants that gave us a great experience and thank so much to everyone was they very attentive with our little daughter. The shuttle service every hour is really convenient, I really recommend Kupu Kupu Barong for anyone looking to have and unforgettable holiday. Laura, Diaa and Jannah Waly.

Best place to spend time. They offered a delicious cake n wine to us on our anniversary night. Loved the food. There is an Indian cook from UP, amazing food. Very humble staff and service. Very satisfied. We had taken a breakfast at the hanging nest also. Nice experience. Very beautiful bathroom.

Wahouuuu what to say except nothing. The view is breathless we had a room with private pool view of the beautiful jungle (just the pool which is icy even with the 30 degrees outside. )
