Located perfectly overlooking the beautiful Vembanad backwaters, The World backwaters, is the best destination for soothing your mind, eyes and your tummy. The resort is so well maintained and hygienic that we stopped worrying about the ongoing covid scare for few days. All the staffs are covid vaccinated and they gave so much importance in sanitizing each nook and corner of the property. The attention that the staff gave to each of our needs was highly commendable. The food was also excellent. They were more than happy to arrange some not so common seafood items on our request and made sure that everything was cooked based on our personal preference. A huge shoutout to the whole management for not compromising on quality, cleanliness and hospitality even during these testing times. I would definitely recommend this resort to all my acquaintances.

The entire resort has an amazing nature ambience with the highlight being the full-scale view of Vembanad lake. Kumarakom is only 20 minutes drive from resort. The hospitality of resort staff is worth mentioning. There is a big restaurant on the premise which serves delicious food at affordable rates with the breakfast being of Indian Buffet variety. The swimming pool with views, overlooking the Vembanad Lake giving the pool a kind of infinity theme. We had truly some memorable moments in the pool playing and laughing. Kids enjoyed a lot in kids pool section of the huge swimming pool. My parents also enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the property and their food. The World Backwaters Resort is highly recommended if you come with family or friends and will be worth for money.

The Place is awesome for a Vacation. If you want to enjoy Backwater from your room and activities around the backwater here is the Place. We were 13 of us and enjoyed each service to the fullest.
Let it be Hospitality, Food, ambience, Massage, Pool it was awesome. Being in Kerela not having crab & Fish with authentic spices is something that’s recommended. Overall the stay was awesome, and recommended for families, Groups and Couples. Loved.

Very bad service experience. Black water in all tab. Damaged furniture. Bad bedsheets. We booked 4 streams villa for 2 villa door key was not working and took 45min to repairs. Very poor TV. Button are not property. Overall experience was very very bad. Not at all worth.

The place is well maintained. Hospitable environment. Site is breathtaking. Though I meant that literally. Tots. Just so you know, visiting the resort this time of the year could be totally death-dealing. Evacuate when you feel like it's not safe.

Situated amidst nature it has a great lake view on one of its side with a great campus in the resort. Pool and restaurant are lake facing and a treat. Food and service is good. Would recommend this place if you want to sit back and just relax. They have an in house ayurvedic Massage parlour.

It works out, but not the best services I've ever seen. We had booked a suite with a private pool within this hotel. It was decently sized. However, it was filled with filth from the trees above and we had to swim along. The A/C was not working, and most of the channels weren't available. Ultimately, we shifted to another suite with a working A/C and an even bigger pool. The recreational activities were great, including cycling and badminton. There were even a few rabbits roaming around our room! The dinner was nice and the very next morning they took us to a complementary Shikkara tour. Overall, I do recommend the hotel.

Amazing place to enjoy your holidays. They gave u best experience at any time possible. U barely feel lonely in here. Great services, superb fud, amazing natural scenes, and above all u can relax a lot. U could help yourselfs to understand mother nature.

Where do I start? With the positives I suppose. The view of the lake is great. That's it. This resort was probably excellent a few years back; now it's ill maintained and the staff has a very lackadaisical attitude about everything. One visit is to the washbasin puts you in touch with nature. The tap water in the rooms seems to be pumped direct from the lake; it tastes horrible and salty. We ended up using bottled water to brush! You could brave it out, use the water and get a free stomach cleaning. The food was okay but not worth the price. As with everything else they took their sweet time refilling the dishes. The games room has a battered table tennis table with few rubberless paddles. I guess one can't complain considering rubber prices. Since keeping kids busy is very important for our sanity, we then march off to get some cycles for the kids since the hotel told us they have cycles. We find that they are technically correct; there are cycles for the kids but not one is usable. Three had no pedals, 2 had no chain and the rest was punctured. I guess it was meant as a team building exercise, take turns pushing others around on the cycle. The pool is decently sized but there are no attendants around. We waited a long time to get someone to bring towels and then had to go off to find a person. The pool water was heavily chlorinated but no one complained as the alternative was the lake water.

Horrible experience. Very bad hospitality I visited this hotel with my husband in March. When we entered we were welcomed very well with tilak and welcome drink. When we reach to our room we were so mesmerized by the view. It was great view of swimming pool covered by the lake water. But later we realized that this view is the only good thing at this place. We had Kerala special massage here and it was horrible. Person who was doing massage was not at all trained and kid who can not make proper pressure. They were just rubbing lots of oil on body. There was only one wooden table which was used to massage all and it was not clean. After massage we took bath and bathroom was totally unhygienic and having water blockage. Totally waste of money. When we shared our experience with them they were not even felt bad about our experience. Then we head to restaurant for dinner. We were only two persons there though was not getting served properly. Staff was totally untrained. And food was not at all good. And the real nightmare happen then. At night around 12 o'clock we faced water problem in bathroom and informed reception guy. Person informed us that water will come in 5 minutes. We slept and woke up in morning and still there was no water. Reception person said that there is some problem in hotel and we should call maintenance as this is not their job. Maintenance person told that there is water problem in whole resort and no water in any room.

The place is nice and calm. The view is beautiful and has a nice swimming pool. There is also a massage center. But the bathroom supplies salty water from the lake which is a serious matter.

Nice place for family… Great ambience… Good and clean rooms… The staff were very helpful… Connectivity to airport is an issue… So book taxi really early…

It is one of of the most exquisite and luxurious destination in Kerala. With the backdrop of the backwaters enjoy the royal cottages with your own personal swimming pool. Cycle around in the compound, swim in the big pool, play badminton, enjoy the mango tree swing or simply take a walk in the lush green natural landscape. Excellent food restaurant and Kerala massage gym are the other attractions.

The place is too difficult to notice. Not enough sign boards to reach. The road is too narrow. Coming to the facilities. It's just an okay place. Service is too poor. The washrooms were not properly maintained. The water in wash fittings is salty. Service staff lacks professionalism.

Good property bit far from lake for boating but its complete in itself for all leisure. In house boating good spa n restaurant. Bicycles for movement. Lush green n clean resort. Good service. Makes it a complete holiday spot.

Located next to the backwaters, this place has one of the best views. There are rooms with stream view, pool view and lake view. The rooms are clean and spacious. There is a beautiful restaurant with the lake view. They also have a banquet hall, gym, pool and ayurvedic massage facility. They also have boat for lake rides. The entire resort is like a park with trees small bridge and gardens. A wonderful place to spend a vacation.

Nice place to stay n relax… neat and clean property but swimming pool was not cleaned. Some accessories in the room was missing like door stopper, refrigerator, toiletries… food n room service was excellent… breakfast was ok. They also have indoor activities like badminton n cycling. Gym is not maintained.

Large rooms, cleanliness at level best, awesome food. Caring staff members. Resort activities are best. You will fall in love while riding a bicycle across the resort. Splendid view from the each room.

Nice place to stay but One drawback is the water in pools and bathrooms are having taste of salt. We cant wash our mouth with that water. It is having the taste of lagoon water. Thats the only drawback.

Good Resort with awesome view. Located on the opposite side of Kumarakom, it gives you a wonderful view. Would recommend to go for Executive Villa with Private pool. Though the executive villa doesnt have a lake view, but the private pool is worth spending for!

We were amazed at the Hotel, the Spa, the Scenery, the Food, and the complete services. Having our own private pool was really special. The famous Spa was exceptional. We were treated like royalty. Good resort one can easily spend 2-3 days in the resort premises with all activities and the most interesting is their Shikara for backwater. Food is delicious.

An awesome experience. the swimming pool was very good, I liked the cycling activity, the paddle boat inside the resort and the service was excellent. I liked it the most.

I stayed at backwaters in March, 13. Kerala itself is mind refreshing. But stay at Backwaters was very much rejuvenating. The place is superb. Morning and evening, both are mind blowing. Pool side, lake view are unforgettable. Restaurant manager and their services were too good. I enjoyed the stay very much and recommended to many others. Some of them have stayed there during their trip to Kerala and made it more pleasant. " Backwaters — Thanx for everything. ".

The World Backwaters Resort (previously Ilona) is a great place to spend a leisurely vacation in the countryside location right on the Vembanadu Lake backwaters in Alleppey. Cottages are very specious, well maintained, with all the in-room amenities. Poolside view of panoramic lake at the morning and evening are just inexpressible until you experience it by your own. Resort ambiance is very refreshing and rejuvenating when you come out of the room to take a stroll on its lush green gardens and alongside of the in-house streams. Great memories.
