Very nice rooms. Great view. Great locality. Slightly away from the MG bazaar but can be reached there quickly. Nice garden to pass time with family and friends. Friendly staff. Good environment.

It's a wonderful place Most importantly quite and no phone inside the room On the ring of bell a person comes to attend to u which gives it more of a personal touch Pema at the reception is a wonderful soul ever ready to guide you with the right things to do and right places to eat (for non veg fans) Thr rooms are not packed with the lavishness of the the 5 star hotel however are clean, neat and tidy. Its away from the meddling crown with an absolute serenity and takes u back to the beautiful olden days. The room attendents are particular about what you want to eat. Order food early cause it takes little time for them to prepare it.

Our whole stay in Mintokling was excellent — it was hands down the best property we stayed in during our 11-day Sikkim trip. It is a quiet and small guesthouse (you could call it cozy) located on a quiet road, hugging a ridge, in the central part of Gangtok city, just below the popular "flower show" road. It probably has less than 10 rooms and that makes the place very peaceful. The location is good — MG Marg, the main market and few other city landmarks are not very far, within 10-15 minutes walk (but need to take a taxi while coming back uphill :-) The guesthouse is family-run (who also live there) and that shows — everything is hospitable and sincere. Service was probably the best part of our whole experience, everyone was very helpful and eager — right from cleaning the rooms to making the beds to enquiring about road/tours to breakfast & meals and so on. Special mention for Roshan, who would run down to our room whenever we rang the bell and, served us steaming hot food on-time in the cold cloudy weather. Our room was spacious, airy, clean and comfortable. It was basic and the decor harkens back to old times (like the old Dak Bungalows), but it has all required facilities like running hot water, cupboards, dresser, a sofa, TV etc. The beds were comfortable — all 4 nights, we slept quite well without any disturbance. The views are also nice — on our last day, we saw the peak of Mt Kanchenjunga right from the room balcony.

Great ambience. Large rooms with wooden flooring and panelling. Running hot water all the time, small but beautiful garden. Excellent food.

Good place to stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. View from room is good. All the time got water.

I visited this place in third week of October, 2017. It is a cozy Sikkim style building with cute garden. My room was tidy and the best part was the view of Kanchandzonga from my window. The restaurant is good and food tasty. The library has a variety of books including some nice coffee table books about Sikkim. The place is very well run by Pema and her brother Tenzing. Both of them and their whole team is very welcoming and efficient. Overall it was a nice stay for me.

Nice, comfortable family run hotel. Very friendly staff and owner. Good food though service was a bit slow. Kanchenjunga is visible from the upper rooms. MG road is a few minutes downhill walk.

The best place to stay in Gangtok. Felt sad while leaving.

I never imagined to be in Gangtok was quite cold and the road, oh my God make my heart beat skiped quickly, then little by little enjoyed the place. If you don't like walking, just forget it, no need to go there. I love the small city cute and peace. The ppl living there must be happy.
