Moustache Agra Hostel

I stayed in a private room. The room needed painting. The bathroom had no hot water. Wifi was too slow to be of use, and mobile networks did not work in the room. Price was okay and check-in was easy. Staff were friendly but very casual. Rickshaws outside the door were convenient but higher prices than usual. The rickshaw drivers' children should absolutely be discouraged from hanging out with foreigners.

The room and building were clean. Comfortable for the price. Just the street was kind of noisy all time, but in Agra there's not much to do about that. The location is great. Walking distance from from Taj Mahal!

We stayed 2 nights at Moustache Hostel during our visit to Agra and we liked it very much! It’s simple but very nice and clean, and walking distance to Taj Mahal, which is great! We knew about that before, but we got surprised when we found out you can actually see the Taj from the hostel’s roof top! It’s really close! We stayed in a double private room, with air conditioning and hot shower. After more than a week travelling through India, we weren’t feeling very well, so we asked a non-spicy noodles at the restaurant downstairs, and it was surprisingly good! We didn’t try anything else from there, but we do recommend the place! The staff is great and they make you feel very comfortable. We recommend Moustache Hostel to anyone visiting Agra and the Taj Mahal.

The most friendly and helpful staff I've come across my whole trip! Unfortunately they were booked out so we had to stay next door. We tried to book train tickets at our hostel but the staff would only book the trains they got commission on. We came over to Moustache after much frustration and the guy immediately booked the exact train we wanted. I can't praise Moustache enough. Thank you so much for your help!

I booked a Surperior double room because of the positive ratings I read before. I honestly wonder what they were about because I had a really bad experience here. The room they gave me was really dirty. The bed sheet and pillow was full of hairs and stains, they definitely didn't put fresh sheets on. The toilet wasn't clean and the ground wasn't either. I complained and had to wait another hour until I could move rooms. I was wearing a top and the guy I talked to came way too close to me and put his hand on my shoulder. I felt very uncomfortable. The new room funnily looked the same, super dirty as well and bed full of hairs. It was gross and I had to sleep in my sleeping bag cause it was too late at night to go to another hotel. In the morning I checked out straight away. They tried to tell me the rooms were dirty because it was rainy and stormy outside and the dirt came in like that. Are you guys serious?! Had to pay for the night and then received an email from the booking website that they told them I was a no show, so they can charge another night. Unbelievable, worst hotel I stayed in! DON'T GO HERE!

Pros: good rooms, walkable to Taj, can arrange other services Cons: staff not very attentive, you’ll be waiting at the front desk wondering where they are to find out they’ve been on the mats on their phone the whole time. They also gave us a horrible bus recommendation back to delhi. Painful and very late. Opposite experience of the state bus we used to get here for the same cost.

Very close to the Taj Mahal ticket office. The rooftop restaurant is quite good and cheap. However, the area around the hotel is pretty dirty and crowded. The windows are very thin, so light sleepers will have trouble sleeping at night because of the dogs barking and car horns. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were pretty clean for Indian standards.

The only good thing about the place was the manager’s decision not to make us pay for the stay! The rooms are in a very low state of maintanance: in the first one the tap of the shower fell off the wall, so you couldn’t use the shower, nor get hot water; in the second one the windows were blocked, so we woke up in everything WET by humidity and in the stink of sew. Hot water worked after we complained with the manager, who asked the staff to put on the heater, otherwise it was hardly warm. Mold was everywhere, in both rooms. From the terrace the view is ordinary, they said because of fog, but they didn’t convince us. Internet doesn’t work, when it rarely does, it is very slow. Choose something else it’s full of places in the same location.

I was there for one night only and it was one of the best nights I had in India! Got a 6 beds room where I was staying with a British couple and an awesome Italian guy. The guy invited me to go to the rooftop and hang out with him then we have met a group of friends from Spain and we stayed up till 3. Am dancing and having fun with 3 staff members, we had a blast! I really enjoyed my time there, the room was clean, the hostel was great so were the staff members. Wish I could remember the name of the guy who was working there and kept calling me "My God! ' he was hilarious and taught us few Indian dance moves. I would love to stay there again If I ever made it back to Agra.

Really nice place! Good people and service are friendly! You have good views in top up the Hostel and good restaurants with low price and tasty food near. Regards to receptionist! He gave us a kind treat!

It's great if you only need a place to crash. Unabashedly biased towards the foreigners staying at the property. There was no drinking water, the warm water only ran for a few hours and the reception desk asked me some terribly personal questions while checking in. The location is great, Taj is walking and can be viewed through the rooftop as well (which was quite dead and pointless on winter nights)

Nice and friendly place to stay specially if you are travelling alone. Colourful mirrors in the corridors are beautiful gives you all the feeling of staying in agra. Meet and greet people from all of the world, make new friends… Overall a cool place.

Little colourful hostel, full of ppl from different country. Service is perfect. Hostel have point view on top where also u can have foog and drink.

Really hip place with an amazing staff and pocket friendly tarrifs. The terrace and the reception lounge are quriky and fun place to chill.

Place is amazing and the staff was nice. Rooftop is cool and specious. Rooms are good. Artwork and design on walls is cool too. Place is well connected to road.

Best rooftop ever. Well designed interiors. Walkable distance to Taj mahal East Gate (1km away). Clean rooms and well maintained toilet. But AC in our room was not working properly, beds and sheets could have been kept more clean.

It's okay for a quick lay over before visiting Taj Mahal. Has a nice roof top restaurant, and good for younger people.

Hostel OK but personal next to the plate. I had asked them to book a night in Jaipur in a hostel of the same chain for the night following my departure from Agra and I had the "pleasure" to discover on arrival that the receptionist had booked for Jaipur the same night when I was in Agra in his hostel… So no room available in full Diwali in Jaipur…
and impossible to call them to have an explanation because they catch me in the nose…

Convenient for the proximity to the Taj Mahal.

No hot water. Every rooms smells bad. They asked us to take off shoes, but the floors are dirty. Not worthy for this price.

I can only give extremely good reviews of Moustache Hostel. Clean, tidy, good shower and bed. Lovely roof top restaurant and bar and close to Taj Mahal. Most importantly the staff were excellent, especially the new manager (Depackson-apologies about the spelling). They were so helpful when we had problems with out train booking and went above anf beyond to help us out. Great place to stay.

The rooms need some adjustment, the staff it s ok! The guy in reception help me with my bus ticket! Maybe the common area needs a pc and AC.

Room and bathroom spacious and clean. Common area in reception and terrace for breakfast, lunch or dinner hours. Very close to the east gate of the Taj Mahal, which can be accessed on foot. Recommended.

Housekeeping and maintenance must be improved, especially related to health and cleanliness. When I was there the black mold in the wall — some in the room and most in the alley. After two days leave the place, I realized both my legs got biten by mites — it could be happened in the lobby sofa or the bamboo furniture in roof top.

Decent hostel. Person in reception is kind. One thing, rest room maintenance need to be improved.

The Moustache hostel was a nice place to stay. The hostel guys are very very helpful and by that I mean, that they sent us our camera charger, which we accidently forgot to Jaipur, so we got it back the same day. Thank you again for that. Otherwise it's a cheap place with all the things you can expect for an Indian Hostel in Agra (where electricy failures and everything which comes with that is a comon thing) and perfect if you want to stay one night for the Taj Mahal and the other sighseeings.

Staff was very helpful and courazzy specially sajan arbaj khan, bobby, chef and sonu bhai always ready for oder. Large bathroom and clean lobby and nice rooftop Tajmahal is near by 10 minute walking distance from hostel.

Tuk tuk driver pushing us in the hostel. We told to our hostel we dont need tuk tuk for sightseeing the guy who works at the recaption he also recommend us good vibes restaurant and bamboo cafe but they both have bad quality food. Not recommended at all.

I had a nice and pleasant stay in this hostel, beds were clean and with a good air conditioner, the staff were very friendly while I stayed there.

Best hostel in Agra! Staff is super helpful. They took care of me when I was sick, booked a bus, made me chai … Rooms are clean, location is great — near the Taj, restaurants are nearby aswell I highly recommend staying at moustache!

Clean, chilled, great vibe and for sure sammy boy! This is the best hostel in agra with clean floors clean bathrooms and beds. Dorm were super fancy. I loved the mangement from samar him and his team arbaaz and bobby are very nice people. Samar make sures everyone is having good time I would definately come back to meet friend samar thanks for all your help.

Nice and decent hostel. Working crew is friendly as well. We recommend it for anyone. We really enjoyed stay at this hostel.

I enjoyed my stay at Jaipur location so I thought I'd give them a try. I even was given a discount for booking at the Jaipur location. The first night I arrived super late and there was some confusion with my room. I ended up getting a single for the first for free! From the roof, depending on the smog levels you can see the Taj Mahal as you enjoy your breakfast.

A very cozy newly built hostel, considering backpacking culture is just catching up! The staff is excellent, recommending a variety of things to do while in Agra. However, they have stopped booking tickets for your journey onwards, which is sad considering their other hostels do help in this, as well. These chain of hostels don't have the concept of open kitchens, found in many other backpacking hostels. Instead what they have is rooftop restaurants, and the Agra hostel has the view of Taj Mahal, so worth dining here as well!

All was well, except that there was no water. No. When you check in so no one warned that all assigned personnel fled, leaving only some "sexual" who "did not speak English"
