The view is what it is worth, because the room that we got had no air conditioning and it was hot, the towels are percudidas, but all worth it for the view that has your restaurant in the Taj mahal.

It has a spectacular view of the Taj Mahal, made us feel at home, very friendly and attentive at all times,,,

The view is spectacular and the rooms are very comfortable, definitely this would be the perfect combination between tourism and comfort.

Had the opportunity to see the Taj Mahal at a full moon night while having a milk shake. Checked out different rooftop cafes around the area. But the rooftop cafe at Hotel Saniya Palace seemed to have the best view.

Restaurant okay with beautiful views. However, no western toilet so not recommended for tourists. Also no soap outside the toilet, so are staff washing hands? Worrisome!

We booked here through air bnb … basically for the view however you can come here for breakfast lunch or tea to see the view… our room smelt of urine … it's very old and tired… needs a good clean… pleasant staff and very cheap… if it's a quick stop over u need then it's OK. … my advice would be don't go up to the roof until you've seen the taj…!

View is so interesting (Taj very much visible behind coloured houses in the foreground). Got some snacks, food is good and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.

This is the ever honest review for Hotel Saniya Palace. If you are looking for a view of Taj Mahal from the hotel terrace, then let me tell you, you will definitely going to see that view. But talking about the room, it just end after entering the room. The room condition is very very bad. The toilet is just like 1 hand big to fix a commode. Wash basin is placed inside the room. After visiting all day in Agra, experiencing the grandiosity of Mughals, you wont like to enter the rooms of Saniya Palace. You do not require to book any hotel prior to arrive in Agra. There are plenty of hotels and you can find by your own after arriving in Agra which fits your pocket. And this view is very common from any good hotel which is located in south gate of Taj mahal. I have stayed in many budget hotels earlier, but I won't ever stay in Saniya Palace not even they are providing the rooms for free.

We stopped here for lunch and to enjoy the view of the Taj Mahal from their rooftop terrace. Lovely indeed. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. You can also get a cold beer! Do not be put off by the outside, scruffy look.

The best rooftop in India! We love it so much! You enjoy the silence, can see the front the Taj Mahal, and over night the sky! We meet cool travelers and shared nice stories! We missed fresh juices and cheaper beer! The manager was very helpful for all our wishes! Room is small, clean and you get your own towels!

Hidden away in a alley but has amazing views of the Taj from the rooftop restaurant.

Rooms are filthy. Very small. Bathroom s are too small. No room service. No cleaning. Only location is good.

Great little guest house, staff was friendly and willing to try to understand what you needed. They also allowed us to have a late check out. Great view from the roof of the Taj.

Don't go for the food, go for the view. On a clear day the the view is spectacular and the rooftop is one of the best places to see the Taj Mahal. My experience was good, the staff were friendly enough. Food was served hot, but not of the greatest taste or quality. I would go back for a chai and to watch the Taj Mahal.

To align with the previous opinions I would say that we pay the view of the rooftop actually. The reception is not the best it is, nothing very nasty but the staff remains on the achievements. How fortunate for them to be near the Taj. Fortunately we were compensated by the acquisition of another room for the night, as the first proposed was in quite a shabby state for the advertised price. + 1 for the rooftop, food/price OK.

Checked in late in the evening. The staff was friendly and showed us to our room. Great view of the Taj from the rooftop where you must try the food! Wifi also worked great.

This place is in small street hidden. Its small geust house, rooms is clean and comfortable. The stuff always ask you to give advise and to provide their service. The restaurant have a so Beautiful view of Taj mahal and decorated with bamboo and many differents plants. I recommanded this palace.

Their service is very poor. Dirty room. Food is very very bad in test. But rooftop is nice. Location is good. 10 minutes walking distance to Taj Mahal.

The rooms are simply furnished and quite run down. I had a maybe 1, 5 square meter bath where I had to put myself for a shower on the toilet. The restaurant, on the other hand, was very good and made a lot of good by a great view of the Taj Mahal.

It is very near to taj, which is a home turned into hotel, Pro's: -Near to taj, -So cheap rooms, -Hav a great view of taj from roof, -Highest top among the local hotels, -roof top restaurant providing delicious food, Cons: -not visible from road as it is in a narrow lane, -u cant park ur four wheeler in front of hotel as the lane is only broad for two Wheeler, -the entrance lane is too Stinky that u may lose ur half interest, -takes too much time to make food, -standard room not advisable for family as it is too small with too small toilet, no entertainment like TV,

Really the only positive aspect in this Hotel is the view from the rooftop to the Taj Mahal. The rest of our stay was just disgusting. The kitchen looked like noone has cleaned it for years and so we didn't even dare to order a cup of coffee. The room and small bathroom was unhygienic, the window broken and "fixed" with some sheets of newspaper, the AC did not work effectively and insects were crawling around everywhere. Besides the Wifi (which was not included in the room's price) only worked in the — so called — "lounge" which did not even have a working van so that it was still over 40°C at 11pm. Consequently: I suggest you to search for another place even though the price seems cheap, taking into consideration that the hotel is so close to the Taj Mahal.

Did not stay here just called into rooftop rest. For evening drinks an dinner — we didn't have dinner as service was so bad we left. Staff were quite rude, not at all welcoming or helpful. Wifi is available but at a charge. Cannot comment on hotel or food. View of Taj is pretty good.

Perfect little view of the Taj Great food. Price was mid range. Quality pretty excellent. Monkeys are a little friendly and or aggressive​ in Agra and we're definitely on the prowl at the restaurant Met a lot of interesting people on that rooftop I would def go back.

Nice view of tajmahal… roof top view. Mostly foreigners r staying here. Food is not bad n not good too. My opinion is owner is so kind n polite Safe place for family n childrens.

Bad food, really bad service, totally hopeless and unprofessional staff. The only good thing is the roof top view of Taj Mahal!

The service person was not good and was not available for most of the time. So, we were just waiting most of the time. The terrace got a nice view near to Taj Mahal.

The rooftop terrace was stunningly beautiful. The rooms are awful! It reeked of dead animals, and squirrels even crawled over the bamboo mats over the bed. It's in the midst of stinking slums. I can recommend the Gateaway, a bit farther from the Taj Mahal, more expensive but safe and clean.

Exactly what you expect for $20USD a night. Air air-conditioning that works and a bed. No lock on the door, BYO padlock. Plumbing barely worked. Very dirty room. Towels that are a disappointing shade of grey, I suspect they used to be white. No toiletries for the bathroom. Bring your own toilet paper they don't supply any. It did however have a fantastic view if the Taj Mahal from the roof. So long as your know what your getting it's an entirely adequate place to stay.

This review about rooftop restaurant. Most horrible service I received in my life. I was trying to oder politely, but after an hour the waiter made a comment "you are not the only customer here sir, order everything at once". I just asked for Bill. They were not that super busy anyway! He sent manager later to deal with situation, but I just paid and left. Besides they put Beer as Big Juice. Probably have no licence for it. The food was also so so. Yes the view is great, but that's the only thing.

Excellent view of the taj for sunrise. Sit back, relax and enjoy the most beautiful building in the world.

Nice view of the Taj from the rooftop restaurant. Food was a bit underpar. The palak paneer I ordered was overly salty. The rooms were big but not well lit. Staff were nice. Close to the south gate of the Taj Mahal.

This review is about the roof top Restaurant. Food is avarage and prices are a bit higher than others but it is definitely worth it because of the view. It is definitely worth it because of the view to the Taj Mahal. It is a little bit hard to find because the entrance is in a little side street.
