Reasonably priced, spacious, clean and comfortable beds. Black out curtains did not block all light, but were adequate to get a good night's rest.

Nice and clean. Good breakfast. I've seen people call it tired. I'd say it is dated. Needs better black out curtains for the summer months.

This hotel/bed and breakfast is such a bargain! The rooms were homey and comfortable, and the one we had had a kitchenette with a stovetop so we could cook our own dinner. The breakfast was good, if a bit simple. The staff were very friendly. The one (minor) complaint I have is that our 1st floor room was overly warm; we came in jeans and sweatshirts and ended up wearing shorts and t-shirts because it was so warm. Sure we opened the windows which helped, but what if it was raining or something? We asked at the front desk if there was anything that could be done and they said they would try and turn down the central air, but we're not sure if that actually happened. It was about 15 minutes outside downtown Reykjavic but it also meant it was nice and quiet for sleeping. I would certainly consider staying here again!

Nice hotel, however, just outside of Reykjavik. By car you need 10-15 to Reykjavik depending on the traffic situation. A little longer by bus. Some discount stores are right around the area, which is really worth a lot in Iceland:D.

Clean, plentiful breakfast, and in Iceland there is need, at reception they give you all the info in a comprehensive but cold and aloof.

Wonderful hotel. Great breakfast, best meals we had. Free upgrade and got to see the northern lights from the comfort of our room. Best hotel.

Great hotel. In a nice quiet area, with 2 supermarkets and a few restaurants. Close to the city but also far enough away. Owner was amazing, gave us great tips. Serves breakfast daily and has a bar after your daytime travels. Would definetely recommend!

Good hotel, away from downtown Reykjavik but interesting location to start around the island in a clockwise direction.

Friendly staff good location, plenty of parking available, near to supermarkets, bakery, take aways and petrol station, many options to get food, hotel provide plenty to eat at breakfast, bus stop close by. Good for families too.

Friendly staff, good location although half an hours bus ride away from Reykjavik town centre so if you want to eat out there isn't a great deal of choice near by. However the restaurant that is near is fab and there is a discount there if you're staying at the hotel. Mountains and scenery around is very picturesque. Great holiday.

Friendly staff. Furniture and room felt a bit dated but was clean and warm. Slightly annoying noise is made when someone in next door room uses water for shower. Other than that was a very please to stay. Nice to be on the outskirts of reykjavik rather than in the built up area of the city.

The room is big and clean. We was checking in late around 9pm. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast is good and fresh. You can make your own waffles. Taste good!

Nice room, nice to be across from a grocery store, decent breakfast, and nice staff. They even let us do our laundry in the commercial laundry room.

Great small hotel, in a very nice are with beautiful views, 10-15 minutes away from Reykjavik and right at the beginning of Road 36 that surrounds the Golden Circle.

For an Iceland hotel this is reasonably priced with the knowledge that you get what you pay for. It is basic with dated furniture and a recent coat of paint which does not change it's datedness. The clientele at the bar / restaurant seems to reflect the hotel. Ignore the creepy bar-flies or join in. The pictures on the website were skillfully taken. Rooms need maintenance.

Quaint little hotel with 20 rooms. The staff are so friendly, plenty of recommendations for activities in town. We had the lamb stew on Friday night and it was delicious. The hotel bar is fun and they have a huge projector for soccer games. I highly recommend.

Very comfy and welcoming place just outside of Reykjavik. Highly recommended!

Considering the price I think this place is very good value. The breakfast is pretty good. With a pool table and an outdoor hot tub, amenities aren't bad either. Our host was a very friendly Icelandic guy who was very accommodating. My reason for 4 stars is mainly because it seems our very accommodating host was too accommodating with another guest who got far too drunk at the hotel bar which resulted in him being very overly aggressive towards me despite no provocation from myself. Host handled it reasonably well, but wish he had intervened sooner as I was fully expecting the drunk guy to try something before he had intervened based on his body language. Beyond letting him get that drunk in the first place I can't really fault them otherwise. Host was super apologetic and understood it was not acceptable. That and the windows and doors are a bit hard to open and shut. The doors were a bit more annoying because you could hear others slamming their own doors because they were equally struggling with them.

Nice small hotel outside of Reykjavik. Although not much around, you can take a short walk to Alafoss and go to the wool store or have a meal in the cafe. If you're lucky, you might have a good view to the Northern Lights.

Although not in the centre of Reykjavik, this is an excellent location in a beautiful area, especially if you are interested in horse-riding (very near Laxnes farm) and knitting (right next to Alafoss village with big wool outlet). You can even do a knitting workshop at the hotel! Shaun, the Manager, is a brilliant guy, very helpful, great sense of humour, and he will arrange anything for you, including the hotel's own car hire. We did several big tours with pick-up from the hotel. I can recommend the super jeep Golden Circle tour including snowmobiling on a glacier and the Inside the Volcano trip. Nothing is too much bother for Shaun and the rest of the staff. If you really want to manage without a car, there are buses every half hour in and out of Reykjavik and it takes about 20 mins each way. It was one of our best holidays.

Very Friendly, very helpful and comfortable. Easily accessible. (Always rent a car in Iceland. You will want the flexibility. ) What more do you need/want :).

I stayed in the hotel in January 2012, the hotel staff are ultra friendly, very helpful in giving out daily information on tours road conditions etc, we had a lot of snow at the time and sometimes certain roads were inaccessible, Shaun the hotel manager was fantastic and very informative. The hotel is in a great location, 15-20 minute drive to the center of Reykjavik, If you don't drive there is a bus stop outside the hotel and buses into the town seemed as regular as clockwork, even in the snow. I would recommend hiring a car just to get yourself out and about on your own terms. Perfect for the Golden Circle and great for Northern Lights, we had one spectacular night that started around 8pm and I was still out at 1.30am with my Camera and Tripod. Tip: if you want to take photos of the Aurora a tripod is a must, don't think you can handhold any camera and get decent shots. The hotel is well furnished, has a decent bar, breakfast consisted of help yourself crepe's, eggs, ham, toast various other light Continental style food. Highly recommended.
