Mandala Hostel Hostel

Stayed in the apartment for three days, it's close to most things. Staff are most helpful. The apartment is quite large, clean and quiet, suited for those who want the quiet life. Would highly recommend it especially to the mature traveler.

Small and nice for small price 10-11 euros per night. Very good atmosphere and good location close to the Centre. 8 beds in a large room with sofa 2 communicating rooms. 4 beds in mezzanine 4 downstairs with curtains and screens. These are big mattresses laid down on the mezzanine floor. 2 bathrooms and a shared kitchen. Quiet, no noise at night. Towels and padlocks provided. Possibility to leave his luggage guarded on the day of departure for free. Thank you for taking the lead.

Became a favorite base for me in Budapest with its mandala theme, friendly, homely feel and chill vibe. Staff were quite accomodating. People come and go but, for the most part, they do so peacefully! It helps if you're an animal lover. There are a few minor niggles with the layout — the door between the shared sleeping rooms won't shut (but I guess it's to give easy access to a shared bathroom) and the bathrooms don't insulate sound that well. Things flow at this peaceful abode so, with luck, it's all good vibes! IMO, Mandala cant be beaten at it's price level.

An authentic place, a house with a courtyard. Very nice atmosphere. There are materials to help the tourist. Clean sanitary units. The decoration corresponds to the name. Not far from the Metro.

Really beautiful and unique place, ideal for backpackers who want to feel Budapest in cheap way.

Ok, ok. I was going to give this hostel three stars, but on my last night the kitty came up into the loft and cuddle with me for 30 minutes. What's not to love about that? Pros: Great location! Near the tram, restaurants, cafes, and great public transport to/from airport and bus station. Cat (s) & dog in the house as well to keep you company on a rainy day. Cons: Very noisy when it is fully booked. The 6 and the 8 bedroom are connected, so you will hear all of the noise from either room. Some people were rude and played the free guitars the hostel has after midnight. Also, if you are unlucky and get stuck in one of the 4 beds in the loft, you will be on a mattress pad with someone sleeping 6 inches apart from you. If possible, request to have one of the single beds in the shared rooms as they look much more comfortable and private. Given the cheap price I paid I considered this to be a good deal and enjoyed my stay. The cat definitely was the highlight of my stay at Mandala!

The room and the bathroom are clean and simply perfect. The guys are very polite at the reception. 10/10 would sleep there again.

I like this hostel so much! TBH facility is normal. But staffs are very kind and friendly, dog and cats are cute, convinience place and comfortable. If I will come back to Budapest I sure will stay here again. I’m gonna miss lullaby of the snoring guy lol.

The pool's really not that bad I just like to speak in hyperbole. I don't know why that is. I'm trying to figure out the bare minimum of leg stretches I have to do and still be able to sleep, without having the ordeal of a full blown yoga routine in the middle of a crowded room. I'm opting for 5 minutes of legs against the wall and a quick sitting on toes whatever asana that is. There was this kid, gay for sure at the Cheap Sleeps hostel in Hamburg. Dude was swinging, saché-ing, in the middle of the common area for over an hour. Like it was nobody's business. I can only maintain that kind of dedicated focus, well not long. It's a good thing I get things quick because I do not have the patience for anything.

This hostel has a great atmosphere. Also the staff is amazing. They are incredibly helpfull and welcoming. As soon as I checked in the staff marked a map with the best places to visit. Which are places you probably wouldn't find yourself. And these places were indeed great to visit. I was even invited to go to a concert with them. Overall this hostel made me love my stay in Budapest even more.

Mandala is home and family.
A place that makes you want to return soon or just stay a little more… :)

This hostel is just great! You feel like home, very clean, the environment is the best by sharing histories, joy, music and food. They will answer to all the doubts that can appear during the trip! Thanks a lot to all the professionalism and friendship of all staff and volunteers, the support of the dog and the cat was precious as well.

The whole staff is really friendly and kind they have amazing suggestions on where to go, all the rooms and toilets are always clean and other people staying at the hostel was also pretty cool.

I had three nights in the hostel with my daughter and his friend. We booked one night first to see how it is but within 5 minutes we booked the rest of our stay. I fell in love at once with the place. Not only the place looks great but we were treated very well, the other guests were also nice and quiet. On top of it, it was a lot cheaper than the previous hostel and far more better. If I have to go back to Hungary, this is the hostel I will make my reservation again. This place is more than just a place to sleep at. It makes your stay in Budapest more wonderful.

Stayed at a private room, wich actually isn't at this adress, but less than a minute away. The place is nice and clean. The location is a good starting point to explore the city. The staff is amazing! Contact was very friendly and helpful.

Best place on earth when you want to stay in Budapest. Great staff that makes you feel like with closest friends. I didn't want to leave that place, but fortunatelly I will definitely come back there.
