This is one of the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed it. My partner and I just love it! It’s like a piece of Italy in Guatemala. The atmosphere and the fixtures and the surroundings are first rate!

Excellent very nice place, all the workers are friendly and attentive. Clean rooms and with extra accessories of personal hygiene that are very useful and do not give in other places. The food is very rich and the restaurant area enjoyable.

More like a resort than a hotel! Came for a friend's wedding, and could not have picked a better place. Gorgeous view from our room of one of the (inactive) volcanoes, multiple courtyards and rooftop terraces. We felt spoiled the entire stay. They also offer currency exchange, shuttles to anywhere you need to go, and many other amenities through nearby sister hotels.

We have stayed in various hotels in Antigua, Guatemala and Pensativo is by far our favorite! Our entire stay was quiet and relaxing, and we were even greeted by a small plate of complimentary cookies in our room each evening, which added the perfect touch! Take a short 2 block walk to Porta Hotel Antigua to enjoy the included amenities such as the pool, spa, and breakfast buffet, enjoy the city and then retreat to the exlusive peaceful ambiance of the Pensativo Hotel! Miguel was especially kind and helpful with any and all inquiries and a speedy checkout! We will definitely be back! I can’t say enough anout Pensativo except to highly recommend it for any and all travelers! Oh and did I mention the spectacular gardens, courtyards and rooftop views!

As self proclaimed hotel snobs, my husband were skeptical when we learned we were staying here for a destination wedding. Walking into the Pensitivo House, exhausted, after a red eye flight, we were immediately transported into a relaxing oasis, surpassing any expectations we had. The attention to service was unlike anything we have experienced before. It’s like they knew what we needed before we asked for it! Nothing was overlooked and we felt like we were the most important people on the planet! This boutique-style property offers elegant intimacy that cannot be achieved in larger properties. Go with the goal to relax and the staff at the Pensativo House will take care of you. Miguel and Alejandra are friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area and will go the extra mile to help you as needed. This was unique experience making us feel pampered and cared for! It was hard to leave and we cannot wait to return!

Loved this place, very exclusive, great food, great service. It is beautifully made and the rooms are great. This is one of the best Hotels in Antigua Guatemala. Would really recomend this place to someone else.

Excellent place… A nice place if you want to rest the right place…

Nice place with very nice rooms. Food nothing out of the ordinary. For events a lovely patio. Good service. The only downside is that they do not have parking for events which hinders the logistics. People in the vicinity find out that there are events and take advantage to collect the same as a parking lot on the avenue. One must carry cash in small denominiación (simple). The hotel guards answer that they do not have parking and that one is looking for what to do to be able to park. Little collaboration is this point on the part of the hotel. In the vicinity there are other hotels which makes it very difficult to arrive on time to an event.

Absolutely stunning! We were grated with fresh orange juice and warm wash clothes with eucalyptus and orange oil. Very beautiful, very accommodating, hotel staff is great!

The hotel is beautiful and food is incredible. However, the rooms are a little dated. They put too many towels, don't put away things like the iron machine when they clean the room and the floors of the bathrooms were really dirty.

Pensativo house hotel was amazing! My new husband and I got married there three weeks ago, the hotel was beautiful with perfect views. Everyone at the hotel were so accommodating and helpful. As you walk through the gate, and to the reception, you feel a sense of security. Welcomed, warm and lush plants and flowers. No expense is spared. A calm and relax environment awaits you. The reception area is exquisite surrounded by a courtyard and stunning sitting areas. Professional customer service at its best. Here you are spoiled… not just 'attended to' You are treated with great respect, so allow yourself to feel spoiled. The personnel has been carefully selected as each holds the true "Gift" of service to others. Rooms are very cozy, smells of wood as each room piece that is wood is real wood. Colonial style furniture with a touch of Guatemalan accents. Very clean. Daily housekeeping. Late evening coffee on the terrace is relaxing and plentiful to the soul. Food in the restaurant is amazing. Taste and presentation was very good. Anything that we needed we received with smiling faces and willing hearts. Heart is what is here. Gaby in the front foyer has lots of information on what to do and can arrange a day for you. Juan Carlos in the restaurant will make sure you have an exceptional dining experience.

Wow this hotel is so beautiful, we absolutely love it! Can't say enough about it! Very clean, great service, many spots to enjoy the out doors… we never want to leave!

The Pensativo House Hotel was fabulous! A welcomed surprise for two weary American travelers who just wanted a clean, safe place to sleep and found much, much more!
The room was spotlessly clean and beautiful! With the red brick arched ceiling covering the room, the tall glass window/door opening to the outside breezes, and the round shower with the big shower head hanging from a beautifully tiled dome ceiling, it was gorgeous! The bed was SO comfortable and cozy with its crisp white sheets and lots of really NICE pillows! The black-out curtains and its location away from the street noise made for a great night's sleep!
The indoor/outdoor arched hallways are filled with cultural art pieces, books, cozy reading nooks, terraces, fountains, and cool breezes! It is so peaceful and beautiful, you feel like you're in your own secret garden!
The staff really made our stay perfect! They are the reason I am even writing this review — I never write reviews! I worked with 3 different people at the desk and they ALL went above and beyond to help me book my room last-minute, change my reservation last-minute, book airport transportation, and print airline boarding passes — all with a smile!
Christian (? ) in the dining room was SO extremely friendly, greeting us every morning with a bright smile and tending to our every need! He was a great start to our day, every day! Thank you Christian!

Armosphere, service, people, and food food food! Five stars to the chef and restaurant staff. We left wanting or wishing for nothing more, but more time to stay. Location is a walk to most of what Antigua has to offer. Or, just flag a Moro taxi to rumble over the old cobblestone streets. One of the most memoable stays I have had in my many travels. 100% recommended!

The hotel is in a quiet part of town away from the center of town. It doesn't feel safe at night. We got a standard room with seating area and balcony. It feels like being in a cave and dark, damp, and smelly with little natural light. We complained and the receptionist offered an extra lamp. Unbelievable! They advertised a balcony and it's a moldy unused fountain. Very disgusting!
