Fantastic is all I can say a lovely family run business specialising in self catering. Apartments are simple but adequate. Great food and the most gracious welcome. Lovely family great for families and couples. Just far enough from the town to be quite but close enough to beach and amenities to walk. I hope to return soon.

Villa marina is a family-run property that makes you feel at home. The rooms are simple and also have a cooking/sink area. Cleaning is done every two days. Each room is a terrace with a table and chairs. Quiet pool area. Located 15 min from the sea but well connected by public transport.

Good base to go other places. Family is kind but there is this weird mix of do it yourself and stuff they provide. Not your usual holiday hotel, but still nice. There's a range of shops down the hill and it's close to the beach. I would recommend hiring a car however so you can see more of the island. Matala beach on the other side of the island is more like how you would imagine Greece to be.

Second home! We spent almost 2 weeks at Villa Marina in August and had an amazing time. Nothing is too much for the family and the staff running the hotel. Friendly people, open hearted, live and work to make you feel comfortable. The apartments are renovated and are great value for money. Delicious home cooked meals in good prices. Do not miss the kontosouvli nights and the chicken in the oven with potatoes in lemon sauce to die for. Had many days round the pool, we were hardly ever annoyed by the! planes. Our overall experience was superb. Having payed for self catering in a 3star compound, we received much more than expected and most of all a sense of family and home, highly appreciated by my kids. We will definately be back.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at Villa Marina for a week. The overall experience had positives and negatives. Rooms 20 — 23 haven't been renovated to the standard of the other rooms, we originally were in room 23 but by a stroke of luck were moved to a more updated room, the difference was huge with the new room being great for the price! The owners are also very helpful and welcoming which was wonderful. On the other hand the pool was almost by the side of the road so it wasn't the most relaxing place to hang out but I guess some could drown the noise out! Location wise the place is a stones throw away from a beach which is nice but in order to do all the 'big' tourist attractions you will need to hire a car for your stay as lot of things are at least an hours drive away.

Stayed here 6 times over the years. Will always come back. Great family run apartments where you are treated as one of the family. Great traditional food cooked by Marina, only 10 minutes walk to the beach and 5 minutes on the bus to Hersonissos but peaceful enough if you don't want to go anywhere. Give it a try, you might like it.

Fabulous service and wonderful food. These family run apartments are fantastic. The people are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them. Basic self catering studio apartments are very clean with modern bathrooms.

Comfortable and homely. Great stay.
