This hotel was nice except it was old and dated. If you do not like modern buildings this is the place for you. And make sure to remember that staff walk in at 6 am asking if you want a clean. The best part of of this hotel is the pool which is lovely and relaxing.

Excellent hotel for the price in the centre of the town. Old style but in keeping with the style of the old Gibraltar and staff really good. If you want modern and hitech its not the place for you. Parking free in front of the hôtel and just opposite was the taxi for tours of Gibraltar à real bargin. Everyone so friendly cant fault it.

An old fashioned hotel that could do with a refurb. Public rooms have character. Good central location just off main street. Hotel clean and rooms have aircon units which are great. Bar and swimming pool are little gems. Bar ridiculous cheap! Well kept private pool. Front of house staff are great!

Hotel good but decor a bit tired. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is great right in the centre of the city. Main Street is about 100 yds with a varity of restaurants. I love Gibraltar the people are so friendly.

Four person room was a good size, with space for a desk, and a bath. Good location close to Main Street and a bus stop. £6 for continental breakfast sounded too much so we didn't try it, there's plenty of pubs nearby doing full English after 9:00 am. Hotel is a bit old fashioned but maybe you like that sort of style.

Good location. Parking for a maximum of 3-4 cars.
Room as a broom chamber. But clean. Breakfast for £6. Overpriced.

Quaint but characterful. Staff happy to help. Nice breakfast bar, and if you can lose your key then there has to be something wrong with you!

We received a warm welcome from the staff. The hotel was clean. The decor I thought was very interesting some may say outdated but it made the hotel stand out. The bed was comfy so had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was lovely. Just right to start the day off. Will definitely return when next visiting.

Very old hotel but full of character. Perfect location, right in the heart of Gibraltar — Cathedral Square. The room is spacious and the bathroom has 2 sinks! The room service is very good. Opposite to a big and beautiful park. 2 minute walk to the Marriage registry office. Really worth the money and relatively cheap compare with other hotels in the same area.

Rooms are a little dated, but it's the best value for money on the rock. Also has free parking if bringing a vehicle and is right next to the main high Street. Ideal location.

Upon booking the Bristol, I fully expected an older, simple hotel. Although location was very good, the general condition of the room was disappointing. Yes, there's "old", but there's also something called basic repairs. Our bathroom door was warped and had holes in it. Setting aside these observations, my biggest disappointment was the reception, or lack thereof. We came by car and when I enquired about parking the response was: just drive around and find something. No offer of a map or explanation of the colour coded parking lines. In addition, the reception had no tourist information brochures. Don't know if this type of reception is typically "British ", but it certainly doesn't endear one to wanting to return.

Bit tired but comfortable and friendly staff.

The hotel was clean and quite near to shops and bars bit was very dated. Price was ok but the staff were mainly just about polite, at times we felt as if we were keeping them from something more important. We informed when we booked that we were getting married during our stay but the room we were allocated was very small and not suitable for a couple with a wedding dress. The pool area was nice and we did enjoy our stay but the service could have been better.

Staff is nice but the room wasn't clean and I got bedbugs the day of my brother's wedding : (

Old fashioned but cheap to stay in, breakfasts in basement good. Small swimming pool out of the hotel, as well as the bar! Handy for all things in Gibraltar.

A very 'traditional' hotel, in my opinion. 'Old-fashioned' is a bit harsh, after all it is an old hotel, if you're looking for a luxurious, modern hotel with neutral decor, stay elsewhere. However the Bristol does have character, the rooms are quite large, though lacking in facilities, but very comfortable. The bar and pool area is not part of the main building, but is connected via a bridge, drinks are cheap, and the pool area is nice to sit in and relax. Apart from the continental style breakfast, there didn't seem to be any meals available, but the hotel's location, just off Main Street, means there are a wealth of bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. If you just need a base from which to explore Gibraltar, this place is an inexpensive (compared to the other hotels) option. I found the staff very helpful and friendly, and if I ever found myself heading to Gibraltar again, I would stay here again.

Clean, and beds comfy enough but the decor is well and truly stuck in the 60/70s!

It's rather dated however the staff are fantastic and can't do enough to help! really cheap bar and clean pool and area.

It is central, although a bit dated it is clean and the staff are good.

Central location near central shopping area. Authentic 1950/60's decor and furnishings, like stepping into the past. Hard beds and the bar closes at 11pm even for residents.

Only as a last resort. Some staff pleasant and helpful but others seem to have been trained by Basil Fawltey.

Cheap and cheerful, its an ok hotel. Athough the breakfast was awful.

Very dated; no kettle in the room; barely adequate mattress. However reasonably clean; nice small swimming pool; most staff friendly. Central location.

Spotless but dated. The staff are helpful and courteous and the prices don't get ridiculous. Very good central location.

Awful management, room sizes, outdated facilities, 3 times the price of what it's worth, you'd get a better breakfast at a homeless shelter, bed sheets should be in a museum. The whole place is a museum that hasn't been updated in so long, it is no longer safe to visit and would not comply with UK regulations. The only good thing is the location as it's one of the four hotels allowed to run on the rock. On the border it has modern hotels that have competition and so are to normal hotel standards. Do yourself a favour and if you don't get the other 4star hotels early enough, go across the border to other hotels. This is NOT a 3star hotel. If it were in a capital city it would be worth €30 max.

We stayed for 4 nights including new year. Hotel lovely, staff more than helpful, nice bar, very central. Pool closed for renovations but would be a proper sun trap in the summer with fab views of the rock. Would deffo stay there again.
