Stayed here for 2 weeks & enjoyed our stay! The owners are extremely kind & accomodating, super kid-friendly (gave our daughter toys to play with the entire stay & a going away gift! ). Central location to everything. The room we stayed in was very spacious, clean, had a ceiling fan, TV and a fridge. Microwave is located at the end of hallway on each floor. The room was cleaned daily & the housekeepers were also very friendly. Free daily breakfast was delicious, both warm and cold selections. Parking was adequate and the best part was the elevator! This will definitely be our go-to hotel when in this area. Thank you for our lovely stay, wish we could stay longer!

I am here on the 4th night of a two week business trip, I couldn't get a booking at my first choice so came here​. The Hotel Avalon is run by husband and wife Bodo, Gutta and daughter Isabel and I must say, this 3 star hotel is a gem. Bodo and Isabel speak very good English, so no issues on not being understood, I explained that I am Celliac and could they help with a gluten free breakfast. The next morning, Gutta had gotten​ in G/F rusks as well as G/F Porridge and although there is enough choice at breakfast without needing those two items, it's a nice touch This is a lovely family run hotel with parking and a lift to the upper floors. The rooms are clean and modern, nice shower room and toilet and the shower works well​. The room door and lock is very secure, there is plenty of storage space and a sink, hot plate and fridge in a separate small room between the shower/toilet and the bedroom They offer a laundry service and the family are very hospitable. I am due back here in August and Hotel Avalon will be my first choice from now on. I will complete my review when I get back to the UK. Now back in the UK and the remainder of my stay was excellent. This is a lovely family run Bed and Breakfast and I hope to be returning in August 2017.

Comfortable place, not far away from the city centre. Very good breakfast.

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel in September. The hosts were nice and even spoke some English, location was great, small parking area however. The rooms were ok, very cold, everything is tiled, so it was freezing at nights, very dark and a bit depressing, I also found a giant black hair in our refrigerator: (However, I am not leaving such a low review because of any of these! The hotel has the complementary breakfast — German buffet style, where everything is displayed on the table and you just help yourself to whatever you want. However, basic sanitary rules were NOT followed, they left out sliced meats and cheese on the plate with no ice or refrigeration and on top of that (this is my assumption and observation) more likely save the left overs from the day before and put them out again! : ( ( (I learned it the hard way — food poisoning! : ( The last morning before the checkout we came down for breakfast at 7:30am and I had a couple of slices of the "old looking meat" and coffee. The breakfast starts at 7:00am and if the sanitary food safety measures were followed I should have been fine… But yes, your guessed right, I got sick almost immediately, an hour later, while on the road and had nothing but their breakfast that morning. I knew, as I remembered how slimy the meat looked when I served it on my plate that it was it. We called immediately the hotel owners just to warn them about their spoiled meat, so they don't get anyone else sick! And their response was TERRIBLE!

Quiet hotel and the hosts are very kind and accommodating.

Free Breakfast, good central location min away from food and shops.

Nice place to rest your head, central to a lot of restaurants and stores.
