Very nice hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. The breakfast is sumptuous and completely sufficient. Everything your heart desires and is constantly replenished.
There is good public transport links, just a 2-minute walk away.
Full recommendation from us. (Couple with child)

The hotel is clean and comfortable. They just renovated. But we have some concerns about the housekeeping attendant. He just runs into our room even we have told him to come back later since we are going out soon. Possible language barrier.

Stayed here in April… When you are new in Dusseldorf, it's good to stay here, everything is just 20 mins walk… Helpful staff (only answer to the point), not very enthusiastic about guests. House Keeping is spotless. Will stay again if I have to…

Zimmer was ok. Breakfast too. BUT when we wanted to check in, the System hadn't found the Booking and we had to wait 1 Hour for the People at the Reception to finally let us into the Room. There was also no Excuse later for the clearly bein Hotel's Lying Error.

A good hotel right next to the north road. Breakfast is good, relative to the price only "Ok. " But you have to be lucky to get a renovated bathroom! The old baths are an imposition.

Service and rooms are perfectly fine. From the style, the hotel reminds of British accommodations with heavy and traditional furniture etc. Wireless Internet is available free of charge.
There is a star deduction due to the price. €139 for a room with a double bed. Breakfast is not included. It is not far to the Rhine. 10 minutes on foot.

All very bad (at reception nobody cares, a room with Soviet furniture, the battery does not work, the crane flows.

Comforable room, bed, and linens; however, rooms facing the courtyard get quite a bit of noise from the neighbors. Also, noise from hallway easily heard in room and noise from bathroom heard through the walls. Good location and good value help me to overlook these things.

The hotel is very close to the city centre, decent rooms, very nice breakfast.

Not very modern but clean. Also the breakfast is really delicious! And for this price an absolute recommendation! A car park is also across the street, so there is a parking facility nearby. Tram and subway are also in the immediate vicinity.

Friendly staff but I could not iron in the evening. The hotel is clean but oldish. The bed was oversoft.

There is nothing to criticize for the price performance ratio. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clear recommendation, some more expensive established five-star houses offer less.

The room was not bad, the bed very comfortable, overall it was small but being individual has been enough, there was no noise at all and it is very close to the metro station, the staff very friendly, no problem to speak to them in English.

At the reservation department already completely passed everything wrong to the hotel. Rooms are standard! Bathroom just getting old and veranzt!

2 stars because W-Lan worked and the receptionist was simply super friendly.

Service at reception is good; The room was clean and the breakfast was very comfortable. People in the neighbouring room are sometimes clearly heard.

Very nice atmosphere, front desk is amazing, they were very kind and helpful. My room was always spotless. The ladies working at the breakfast room are so polite! Buffet breakfast is large and varied. Being so close to the Hofgarten is a plus. Another place to return to on my next trip to Düsseldorf.

Good location! Beside metro, not far to walk into the centre, lively neighbourhood around Nordstrasse and near the Rhine and Kunstpalast. Room was tired and dated with heavy furniture that swamps the space but the bathroom was new and bed very comfy. When you see the old photos of the hotel over the past 60 years you can convince yourself it's a classic.

Classic case of you get what you pay for. Well located hotel, but it's rather dated. Room I was in was tiny, and only had a bath without a shower. Clean, but far from ideal.

Slightly off center to the north, best to reach by Subway. Nice lobby and staff. Contrary to two employees' affirmation, no water kettle in room. Huge TV, but incredibly limited choice of channels. For the comfort level and price you get better more central plus parking.

I booked a room at the Novum Madison but when arrived by 11pm they told there was no room for me there but at another hotel, the Novum Excelsior. The room could not be accesed by the lift but by the stairs. Staff was very kind at all times, taxi was paid by them and I got breakfast for free. The situation was not nice but sweetened by the hotel staff.

Clean hotel, the room we booked was big, the interieur very old, except of the bathroom, it was very new and modern. Ok for one night. Don't get a room near to the Lift/elevator. They told us it's turned off from 10pm to 7 am but, untill 12pm it was very loud and NOT turned off.

Really lovely hotel, would recomend to everyone, excellent location.

Not a bad place to stay in Dusseldorf. A little bit overpriced, and Wi-Fi is not working as expected, but rooms are nice and the staff is very gentle.

Is 2 or 3 octomber 2014 I think 23:00 o clock I have lose my mind… and my money. I say the recepsion man for water to drink and he dont give me. Soo when I see now the place is funny this fillings. The peoples make the world more beautiful. The crazy woman from Albania.

The room was clean, front Desk service attitude is very good, considerate. Price (inclusive of Breakfast), the surrounding shops, more restaurants/fast food, too many, and is easily accessible. Recommended.

That's a good hotel, though a little bit expansive during fair times in Dusseldorf. However, a nice night was here, and it's really fit for business trip.

Pros: — very good location (10min walk on the Kö) — clean room — the most comfortable beds (the blankets in the winter were incredibly :) — delicious breakfast neutral: — despite double glazing on the Windows, a room facing the street is still somewhat loud, but cons would not like that you don't sleep well:-room was quite nice (the other guests were very silent) only during the day the plaster — and sounds work were the furniture and the bathroom quite loud — conclusion are pretty worn out) : Due to the great beds, we would come back in any case and to test whether the clairaudience in other rooms is better :).

Positiv: Reichhaltiges Frühstück Negativ: Sehr alte Zimmerausstattung, Badezimmer offensichtlich seit Jahrzehnten nicht renoviert. Karge Zimmerausstattung (nicht einmal eine Ablage für den Koffer vorhanden, Keine Ablagen, Keine Bügel für Anzüge im Schrank. ). Insgesamt trotz Lage direkt an der Straße relativ ruhig, allerdings dünne Zimmertüren, die direkt auf den Gang gehen und damit hört man jeden Gast.
