Stunning building inside and out! beautifully kept and spotlessly clean. Front desk staff were so welcoming and informative.

This is a great place to stay in Dusseldorf. Quiet, beautiful neighborhood with wonderful furnishings and character. Add to that the friendly staff, and you have a wonderful alternative to a stale, business/tourist-type hotel.

This hotel is unique. The hotel is very nice, the room is very nice and very clean, breakfast excellent. The hotel staff are very free-to-mouth and help-chat. Located 3 stops from downtown in about 10 minutes by metro.

If I could rate this hotel in the NEGATIVE I toldly would. When we arrived after 36 hours of no sleep, delayed flights, stuck in airports, and spending $38 in euros to get there, we were told they could not host us due to our child. Our daughter is an extremely well behaved 4 year old, whom I had communicated with them on more than one occasion that I needed a king bed as she sleeps with us, and to use king sheets, etc. Room was booked well over 10 days and they had more than enough time to cancel. They did not. No. They wait till we are there, bags out of taxi, child on high, husband on no sleep, my birthday in morning and I can't stay there. They must be nuts. The young man at desk, was so kind and I felt so bad for him as he took the brunt of my frustrations from all and the owner just ran his mouth, saying the most rudest and obnoxious comments. I live in America, but my father and grandparents were from Vienna. I told him I understood him, but he kept running his mouth. It took time away from our day, upset the mood, day and money. Mind you, it was all prepaid. Thank God I had money. What if I did not, where would my family have gone. That is a scary thing. I would really think twice about booking here. I travel all over the world. 2 to 5 star. I'm not a snob, I just love nice ppl and original places. That is what attracted me to the hotel in the first place, the history. However, can you imagine, a human being turning away a family after 36 hours of travel.

Beautifully furnished rooms, of which I prefer the Achenbach suite and room number 28. But all of them are quite stunning (I’ve seen 6 so far) Since it’s a very small, intimate hotel, they don’t have a kitchen, which is totally fine because three very good restaurants with decent food are within walking distance. Breakfast is up and above, the breakfast room is quite the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen and I travel quite a lot, mostly within leading hotels of the world. Villa Achenbach is the only 4 star hotel I’ve stayed at in the last 9 years and I’d come back for sure any time. Thanks to the great staff, every stay is such a pleasure. The city center is close and you’d reach Messe more conveniently as from the center because here you avoid the traffic ;) I highly recommend booking a room (if one is available) ;) )

Very individual small hotel in a quiet side street. The charm from the turn of the century, but completely modernized. Had the tower room, which was furnished with affectionate details. According to the description, I assumed that a parking lot was there. But that is not the case. Must be posted separately. An employee was so nice and provided me his. I was also very helpful in carrying luggage. Is no longer a matter of course today. Top.

A very noble hotel. If that were to be in London, you couldn't pay for the night.

Quaint boutique hotel with friendly staff and wonderfully appointed rooms. All of the staff were extremely friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make sure our stay in Dusseldorf was very pleasant. Quick trivia — this used to be a single family's home a bit has since been turned into a hotel in the last ten years by the new owners. With the close proximity to the city center, and the secured but limited parking situation, I can definitely recommend this as a more private and intimate hotel to stay away when in Dusseldorf.

Can't recommend this hotel enough. Stayed here for three nights in late November. Hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We felt very welcomed. Out room was also beautiful, with our own patio. There is no bar or restaurant here but they have an absolutely stunning drawing room and dining area (breakfast is available). Old Mansion converted to 5 star hotel. Everything is clean, comfy and beautiful. Attention to detail is everywhere and the staff were all very friendly. This is the only place I would ever stay in Düsseldorf.

Family run hotel, a fabulous experience at very reasonable rates. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Very handy for public transport into town and great local amenities.

Villa Achenbach is amazing. The rain showers are bountiful and the whole place is baroque, gilded and pristine. All the staff are wonderful, the breakfasts are expansive and lush and my whole experience at Achenbach is without par. I cannot recommend Villa Achenbach enough.

These people are arrogant, rude, haughty and snooty and a lot of other things that I will refrain from stating here. They did not allow me to stay at the hotel because I left a review about 6 months ago stating that as there was no Air Con I would not recommend staying there during the summer months. They only informed me of their refusal upon my arrival. What a joke! Management are so egotistical that they can't even accept small criticisms! I would understand the ego if it was superb hotel but the hotel is not that great! It's in a terrible location, has very few services and the staff are rude. It's probably a nice stay if you like travelling back in time a couple of hundred years!

The hotel was wonderful. Location was quiet wit easy access to public transportation. Lovely rooms comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Overall a very good hotel. Good value. We would definitely stay there again.

Great ambiance of a non chain hotel. Beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail. Bathrooms could have been built by BMW! Staff was great and the hotel was quiet.

The hotel was very nice and breakfast at the hotel was really good. The only inconvenience was that during the night it was a bit cold in the hotel room.

Rooms are great from the beds to bathroom to the design/look and feel, furniture, temperature, noise level (none), it´s all there. The staff is excellent! Top service.

I guess this hotel is awesome, both hotel staff and owners were so kind and helpful to me during my stay. Hotel has just been restored and the rooms are really clean Also this hotel is located in a very silent street (but also is a central place) that you do not hear any noise from outside. I definitely suggest this hotel :) If I again visit Dusseldorf in the future, I will stay again in here, no question about it.
