It's old and not really modernized lately but still I like it for several other reasons.

60's decor — clean and comfy + so close to the Dom. Although the Dom view rooms offers you a glimpse of one of the spires. Other wise definitely worth the money.

Old rooms, smelly carpeting, the third floor always with a bad sewer smell. The breakfast, if the hotel has many guests, is scarce, the service entrusted to one poor boy, willing but inadequate. Very convenient as a location, not worth residing in front of more modern facilities.

A somewhat aging, partially renovated hotel. This can be seen, for example, from getting two keys instead of a key card. The elevator is old and awkward. The room was large, tastefully decorated and clean. Friendly staff. Hotel is very close to the centre — well suited for a city break. Parking was inexpensive in the nearby parking garage.

Senate Hotel: A star for the nice & competent advice. Very good parking.
The cleanliness of the room is what else is meant. There is also a lot to do there: For example, dead pigeon on the rise.

The hotel has been in the years and needs renovation.
To get into the room, 3! Key Required: Lift (also must be operated with key), floor-to-door and room doors.
The carpet in my room had significant stains and some broken carpet closing strips. Furthermore, there was a thick boll radiator, a mini-cooler, whose opening mechanism more reminiscent of "What is the", ceiling crack in the shower area and more.
The staff were very nice and the room was very comfortable.
The Direct Hotel neighborhood does not suggest a hotel there.
For 2 nights without breakfast OK, max 2 stars no more.
Once is executes zero, twice is once too much.

The location is right for the price. The staff is very friendly, we were there during an event there and the service was very good. The rooms make for the age an even more acceptable impression the recommended parking garage very cheap and the breakfast delicious we will definitely come back.

In the years since opening 1959 apparently hardly ever renovated, for this state outrageous prices.
Only suitable for lovers of morbieden charm.

The location is great.
Unfortunately the room was not really clean, carpet with Krümmeln, wash basin not clean. Loud music was played in the house next door until midnight. The breakfast is not worth 12, 50 euros. At 10am (breakfast is served until 11am) No coffee, no buns and no juice glasses were available. The Buffett was already very grazed and no staff on site.

With more than 300 visitors, the church service of Cologne City Church was also technically well-suited, despite the narrow foyer. But the hotel is very old.

It was way too tight. Entrance was hard to find. Room was extremely unfavorably divided.

Location was great for this hotel which was the saving grace. Kettle was dirty and they didn’t have any extra to exchange. They didn’t have enough extra pillows after 3-4 rooms had asked for it. The fan was not working and didn’t have another one to replace. I waited in the room for 20mins only to realise they didn’t have a kettle and fan for replacement; called up the reception to be told that he will bring it up when he’s free or I can come and pick up myself (which is not a big issue, but after I’ve waited for 20mins which he could have called up to the room to tell me). The replacement kettle was a vacuum flask which he said it was an automatic kettle.

The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean. That you can like, but you don't have to.

Excellent location. The hotel is a little in need of updating the rooms, but generally OK. There is an adjustable heating in the room and a mini bar.

Hotel is somewhat in the years, yet good value for money.

I don’t advise anyone to stay in this hotel. It’s dirty, smell so bad. You will feel itchy when you lie in the bed! I would give him less than one star if I could.

For short stay okay. The carpet has its best times behind it, mattress is located. The staff was very nice!

The hotel room would have to be refurbished from the ground up. The carpet can no longer be cleaned with conventional means. The breakfast is getting used to, I do not know when the last time I should eat such mould. The staff ignored the guests no questions about coffee as to the wishes of the guests. The colleague at the reception had to do with himself. 200 meters to the cathedral are also not enough to recommend this House further.

Room is nice… although if you plan to stay here I hope you enjoy muffled music all night long. (Pub underneath makes is impossible to sleep on weekends)

Good hotel in the center of Cologne with around many bars, restaurants and various venues. Spacious room with great city view, WI FI garage and breakfast included. The staff was very helpful would need some maintenance. I have stopped several times at this hotel and I have always found it well.

Unfortunately, the hotel does not hold the time it promises one so we wanted at the latest at 15:00 to our room unfortunately only half an hour later. Rooms are OK more but also does not fit however.

The room was very big and well decorated, the staff was super friendly and helpful with everything! The only thing is that the room didn't had A/C so we struggled a lot with the noise outside because we needed the window open. Was a good experience though.

Great location and super friendly staff. The room was huge (suite 211) but a little bit dated, but I found that charming.

Very comfortable room, excellent guest services. Very noisy rooms from the street and no A/C. You have to have the windows open which leads to an unsettled night…

Vintage but clean and a stone's throw from the Duomo.

Very spacious and well furnished room! Bathroom without window but…

A small hotel with good location. Just couple of minutes from cologne cathedral and all shopping streets! Biggest minus was that the rooms does not have air conditioning (At least single room). Now with 35 degrees room was really hot. Single room is also quite spacious and condition was OK.

Rooms and clean and tidy, parts could be done with an upgrade though.

Very nice Service. The beds are pretty sags. The mini bar has in the room with me the whole night gerödelt, it was very warm and the TV didn't work. The shower head was a bit furred and the entrance to the bathroom (the door) looked like in the wall cut (the door was wallpapered and the Wallpaper is very stained all around).

This Hotel so as I experienced it, I can unfortunately recommend to anyone. When I was at this Hotel arrived, I noticed that in the Lobby, not a single Person was, apart from the receptionist. Also, the Bar was both in the Morning and at Noon not to mention Evening open. The room was at first glance properly. But if your things are gradually unpacked, falls on the ground is very patchy. Also was the bathroom not cleaned properly, been one of the dust and some hair looked. The evening came to friendly please have a cleaning lady what is the bathroom a little was rising and the floor once sucked. After that, it was at least acceptable. When I finally found my peace of mind had, I have the beds checked. There were three beds but this one was only an extra bed or a sofa bed. In the beds, everything was in order, however, was in the middle of the third bed will be a hard edge which, during sleep very Disturbed. Great Hotel and very friendly staff. Alone the location is a 5 star value. The Breakfast is great, it has nothing missing. The room was very big and clean. We will definitely come again.

The welcome drink on arrival, the view of the Cathedral of Cologne from the room, the english breakfast on demand, a multilingual, helpful, friendly and smiling team, exceptional location. Bravo!
I keep a good memory of the quality of the reception at the Senates and can't wait to return on a future stay.

The hotel is nice and clean. It's central located near the DOM, with easy access to the tube. Somehow the bathroom was too small and the room was very hot with no air conditioning.

It was a very good stay. Just one night in a single-bed room. In the middle of downtown Cologne, within walking distance (about 5 minutes) of the Dom and the Central Station. The room was clean, good looking and good enough for the money. Staff was okay and breakfast was good. I would come back again.

Authentic 60s charm with delicate modernization. Huge, nice and quiet rooms with everything you need in the city centre.

Everything was very good at the level of the situation as the reception, the cleanliness and the consistency of the breakfasts. The only regret is that the television did not offer the possibility of capturing channels broadcast in other languages (in French for example)

Since we for the second time in the Senate, the Hotel were, we found the Frühstückspersonal quite overwhelmed. Tables were only cleared at a snail's pace What worked well was in the morning, scrambled eggs and Fried egg. On Saturday, it was for some of the guests no buns. You tried to provide for the replacement but baguettes and white bread dry and hard. You would have little rolls ordered. The bathroom mirror was only half cleaned. We feel, in spite of the well and will definitely be back.

Very happy with our stay at the Senats Hotel in Cologne. The location is excellent; in the city centre, and only a small walk away from the Dom and the train station. Doors are open 24/7. The room looked well taken care of and was clean. Beds were comfortable. We slept with the window open on the street-side of the hotel, but noise was hardly a problem. Upon arrival we received an invitation to the hotel bar for two glasses of bubbly. Breakfast was fresh and complete. Nothing amazing, but definitely decent and according to expectations. The croissants were quite yummy! One hour of internet access is included free of charge. Further use requires a fee, but is easy to set up. As others have mentioned, you do need keys for everything. Personally, I didn't view this as particularly problematic, however. Over all, we were very content :) Service at reception deserves a special mention — we were more than happy with the help we received.

The Hotel has surprised me, because it is at first glance very retro looks and the gears and gastronomy in the presumed original state of the 50 years is left. Once, however, the room enters, you can see that well in a modern room has been invested.
