GZ Hostel Bonn Hostel

Unfortunately, the journey could not be started, as something important came in between. The reservation was cancelled on time (! ), but to this day I am waiting for the rest of my money. The whole thing is already 2 months (! ), countless calls to Booking, and countless answers a la "we transfer the money tomorrow". First and last time, rarely seen such a bad service. Unfortunately, 1 star is still too much. No recommendation.
P. S: can't judge what the hotel looks like from the inside. But based on the other reviews, it doesn't seem to be very great either.

Unfortunately very dirty rooms found on arrival. Not just dust but really littered. Very simple accommodation that you shouldn't expect. But at least the staff were reasonably friendly.

+ Walking distance to the nearest S-Bahn station in 2-3 Min. + in the room assigned to me was a modern, relatively large TV. Large room. + The communal shower (with bathtub) was clean and equipped with the main. — Quite noisy (the toilet flushing in the room was clearly audible) — the front door closes very loud and echoes through the entire house) — the duvet is not designed for large people.

Accommodation dirty, disgusting. Not once cleaning in our room in 5 nights, the bathroom, common, was not cleaned either once. Shameful, does not deserve any Star. To avoid like the plague.

Didn't expect much… but the unpleasant smell and the uncleanliness of the room were really borderline! At least the bedding was clean… For the price of almost 70 euros for a single room with private bathroom you could have expected more than the charm of a 50s station toilet. Staff was friendly.

All in all you have to say unlovingly this is probably the best. Very annoying was that when I travelled, only the bedding was partially deducted. The room was and was also not cleaned supposedly there is only one key. That's it. Positive. The woman on the spot who was most present made the impression she keeps the shop somewhat together.

I was the only woman there. I was afraid to run from my room to the bathroom. When I had already picked up my key at the bar, I was abgecheckt by about 10 men (think guest workers), like fresh meat, which I found unpleasant.
I'm sorry, but the whole thing worked on me like a homeless shelter and I was scared to get raped at night. Better pay 30 euros more and go to a sensible hotel, believe me.

We use the GZ Hostel for meetings and are always very satisfied. A quiet room, on different types for Seating and good Service.

Keep your hands off me! In the room under my room there were about 10-15 craftsmen/construction workers, who had a loud chat all night and loudly moved chairs on the tiled floor. Everything was audible in my room 100%! I wanted to complain to the operator, but she was very drunk and could not help me. In the middle of the night I searched for another hotel…

Extremely noisy until 1 in the night. Shared bathroom with unusable clogged sink. Firedoor propped open with sign "do not close".

Room was tidy more but not too.
Hostel was incredibly rude on the phone just because you had a few more questions.

Horrible really do not go there we were affraid of the place and the people are weird!

Something I have never experienced. When I wanted to check in to the Hostel at 22, I was told in a rather unfriendly tone that the binding room booked was cancelled. Further assistance was not offered to me. Thus, I sat at Night in Bonn on the road. The cancellation email came, incidentally, on the same day at 18:30. Since I was already on the way and could not retrieve my emails. For me, never again!

For the cheap price, you get an adequate performance. Clean and functional. Yes, the house is soundproofed, but earplugs help. If you want to have a cheap night and get it right with basic standard: let's go. The rooms are OK and lockable. You feel safe.

Were a night in a double room and can barely comprehend the many bad reviews. The room was clean and tidy. Also the staff was friendly. A very good transport connection by subway in the immediate vicinity makes the GZ hostel a recommended address with a great price/performance ratio.

Very rude phone contact. Have not seen a person there during the entire night… can be OK, but if the phone service is so bad… Disaster! Room was still the best, was lucky that I was alone in a 3-man room. Cleanliness so Lala, could be better, but I had expected for the price no better. Bed poor, well-located. All in all, a cheap departing, I recommend to take 20 euros more and work with friendly people, who one gets to face. Never again for me!

Affordable hostel for travellers with shared bathrooms. Bar with restaurant. Serene place and just 20 meters from train station.

If I could, I would give 5 stars.
The hostel was overbooked, so there was no room for us despite booking confirmation. Fortunately we were moved to a different, higher quality hotel, the hotel must bear the additional costs thus arising for us. This was confirmed us several times by Mr. Dahmen. This seems to be utterly incapable, because the costs have been paid since September are still not on me. Mr. Dahmen now repeatedly insulted me and always says that he had transferred the money, arrived is still nothing. Now run over a court. So cheeky!

Worst place I have ever booked and luckily ended up not staying at. Came to Bonn for my university entrance test the next morning at 7:30 am. I arrived around 9:00 pm and waited for about an hour and half for my room; staff finally told me that I would be relocated to another hotel in a different city. Reason: "some" people (I booked a single room) still occupied it without letting know the management. Mysteriously, the cleaning lady (is there one? ) did not notice either that my room was not empty when she cleaned it earlier that day (sounds like lame lie to cover up for classic room overbooking). They showed no initiative whatsoever in providing an adequate replacement. While confronting staff with my test situation and that closeness in the morning would be key to my success, I got a very aggressive response, reminding me of some sketchy formulated, probably made-up, german rights: either, I would go with them to their remote place, or cancel (for free, how nice is that right? ) the booking at 11 pm. I just wanted to get out of there, this miserable situation, and canceled. There was no way that I would wake up an hour earlier just to sleep at a hotel that I did not book, in a city I did not want be in, to take a train to the place I payed for. Initially, the front desk guy tried to persuade me that I would not be able to find another hotel (luckily, my boyfriend at home found one in no time and booked it for me).

So is beautiful and tasty and the staff is nice to on some people (staff). And it is clean.

This hostel is OK, I was staying here with 3 friends for the gamescom 2013 trade fair and we had to pay 150 euros each person for 6 nights, which is really overpriced but a decent price because all the hotels in the area of Cologne raised their prices before gamescom took place. The bedrooms were fine, one double bed room was on the 2nd floor of 1 side of the building and the other was in the basement in the other side of the building, which is a bit annoying because the crew of the hostel didn't let us pass through the biergarten in order to go to the other side of the building, so we had to go past the parking in the back of the building instead. Each floor shared one bathroom. Also, the crew barely understands English, just enough to check the bookings. The only real advantage of the hostel is its location — it is just up the stairs of the Tannenbusch Süd underground train station, which has 2 lines that take you to Bonn Hbf (Bonn Hauptbahnhof, means Bonn central station), the 3rd stop of both of them.

Ok but has smelly rooms, shared bathroom very wet, very high slide danger and very much hair everywhere. Heating was not and the ceiling was very thin. We have complained then every morning at 9 o'clock, when we in the evening again arrived at 20: 00 depending on a beer was offered to us as compensation and that could be one in a single room and this should be played but no poor rating but. Then first on the room we are ok, the smell was to say 70% off could still be alive but heater still did not go and when we turned on the light in hallway then there was a huge bang and mega radio, everything was dark, it was fixed immediately and heating heating revealed what was not much, still cold. Now it was 23, 30 and when we came back to the pub to tell the first sentence to the colleagues was: now but pay! When we say that still isn't the heater and the requested blanket would finally have (which we have now several times mentioned) he Janeway out: getting this extra wish!
2 nights for € 115 is an impudence! I decided to review is because it was really very unfriendly and that the customer is also unfriendly yeah ma.

Dirty black mold in bathroom and bedroom.

From the outside the Hotel looks pretty run down and the impression continues to the inside.
The rooms are dirty. The floor was full of hair and stains. The shared bathroom was still the most beautiful, though there the dirt of my hallway neighbor has collected.
Also, breakfast promised in the Internet has not existed. All in all: finger away.
