I Stayed at Amstel house hostel for 3 nights everything was awesome. Interacted with 4 staff members all of them were very pleasant and helpful in answering my questions. The check-in process was very quick. The breakfast was only 6 euros a day and it was nice food. You got a buffet with a chose or bread, fruit. Cereals and orange juice, tea, and coffee and lots more wonderful food. Hostel rooms are very big and the showers were very clean. Best hostel I have stayed at. … Would definitely recommend staying here when in Berlin.

The rooms are comfortable and pleasant to the eye, the toilets are clean, the staff is friendly and speaks fluent English, the location is close to stores, restaurants and a subway station, and the prices are very reasonable. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, a pool table. They have that too.

A beautiful place, really clean (they clean bath 2 times a day, and the hostel is brilliant) and beautiful. There is also a 24 h bar, and an open kitchen where you can cook your own meals. There was the first time in Hostel for me, and thei left me a really good impression. The only one problem is the distance from the city center ( (around 30 min), but on weekend the public transport is h24 (so is not a real problem). Congratulations, a very beautiful experience in Berlin!

That first review was a mistake… I actually like the place… awesome service… 24 hour reception which really came in handy… Good atmosphere especially for young people… nice clean neat and simple… Okay location… and the stuff on the doors of the rooms is just awesome… like the facts about Berlin and Germany and the rules of the washrooms… couldn't miss that… plus the rules make the stay here very comfortable… So stay a little.

I would Congratulate & appreciated the Management of Amstel Hostel and their staff's Member's those facilitate the tourist with world Class Service while in Berlin. One of the best hostels I have stayed in. Staff were lovely and always available. Kitchen was clean and well stocked. Plugs over every bunk in the dorms which is a lifesaver. Bathrooms and dorms always clean. Only complaint is that the pillow were basically a scrap of fabric, no stuffing in them at all so were paper thin and hard to sleep on.

The room was fine and spacious with a table with chairs in the middle and 4 closets (you need your own lock to close and secure your closet), we shared a 4 beds room. The bathrooms weren't that good, most of the time dirty, same as the showers. The positive side is that there were plenty of them, so you could go and search the cleanest one. The showers don't have hair drier but you can borrow one from reception leaving a deposit. Bring cash! The staff was friendly and the common areas were very nice. In a nutshell, good hostel with not too clean bathrooms.

Very friendly and sympathetic staff, clean rooms and toilets (the toilets are cleaned twice a day) at a reasonable price. I can only recommend the Amstel House Hostel and would choose the same hostel on my next stay in Berlin.

Good location, generally clean… Small under-filled pillows, no air conditioning (hot during summer), poor draining and ventilation in showers. Not much atmosphere but this is a safe and relatively inexpensive place to stay. Bathrooms cleaned twice a day which is GOOD. Recommended.

One stop destination for berlin. Their kitchen is huge and superb. Ambience is so homely. Rooms are neat and clean and trendy. Bathrooms are clean. Reception staff is cool. Fantastic hostel with super friendly and helpful staff… great location. Fab for families. I stayed there with my 2 sons. They had a blast. And I enjoyed the bar immensely … THANK YOU from Scotland and The Netherlands.

Really great atmosphere, friendly staff, affordable rooms & drinks and a really cool location. The bathrooms are also really clean, which is a big plus for any hostel really. Would recommend to anyone!

It had been a wonderful experience at Amstel House and would love to stay if I ever visit Berlin again.

Great location and friendly staff, though I'm not sure how I feel about having to prepare my own sheets. Washrooms we're clean but the floors needed more attention.

The hostel is really only suitable and sleeping there are still hairs on the floor and the room did not look really well cared for.

Mega friendly staff and price/performance top. The all you can eat breakfast for €6 really extensive and there were great tips for Berlin, as well as a simple bike rental with good wheels. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

All the best, clean rooms/showers, no great luxury but perfect for backpackers. Staff also very friendly & accommodating.

We had an excellent stay. The hostel is very close to public transport. The guys at the reception were able to communicate with us in our language. The kitchen is open until 11 pm every day. They offer laundry service for 6, €5 and free breakfast for €6. Very clean, very warm and very good treatment by the staff.

Excellent experience. Very clean and tidy. Kitchen available. They offer breakfast for 6 euros and daily happy hours at the bar. The Wi-Fi works well from the rooms.

Atmosphere is really good, relaxed, im here with 2 kids and nobody complained on their screaming. So stuff gets the most points, esp. Because they speak very good English. Hostel is old (old furniture), just walls are painted. Windows are high on some floors, and pillows are very tiny which why first night my neck hurts in morning. But in general is ok. I wish furniture wasnt so old as well as if it would be more cleaned in kitchen.

Very friendly staff. Spacious rooms and very quiet. Nice breakfast area which in the evening becomes a cozy common room.

The best hostel in Berlin (price/services) that I've found until now. The location and transport is good. The rooms are very cleaned and confortable. The only thing is that I don't recomend the breakfast: too expensive for the offered.

Overall impression O. K. Delicious and varied breakfast, nevertheless a lot of school classes, also the cleanliness is to be criticized, the rooms are acceptable, the showers are a pure, strong mold infestation.

It is very good, compared to many others, it is close to all the important museums and sights of Berlin as; The Branderburgo Gate, the museum Island, shopping mall, if you like to walk around is about 15-20 minutes away and you can see many buildings very parents like churches.
It is very good, you have kitchen to buy your food or if you know how to cook you can buy your food and prepare your food, which is quite well equipped.
It also has games and amenities area, patio with chairs, to relax.

Clean place, cheap, quiet, the mastress and pillows are not from the best quality ever but the price you pay it's fair. They haven't mind given me a new room at 11 pm because one guy has been smoking in mine. The area is nice, looks safe, and lot of place to grab food.

From the outside very nice, from the inside (the rooms) unfortunately not… OK, for 2 nights it has arrived. Unfortunately, there is no cleanliness here. Staff very nice.

Most friendly and helpful receptionist ever, so lovely and great first impression of hostel. The room doors are so amazing, it gives a good small piece of information on every door. Breakfast was good as well commuting from that location was quite easy. I would recommend all the people who are travelling to Berlin must have stay in Amstel Hostel.

A place that grants what it promises, and also the people who work there is the sea of sympathetic. The cleanliness is ten and the atmosphere is amazing. The price-quality ratio is unbeatable.

It is very good, compared to many others, this close to all the museums and important tourist places of Berlin like the door of Branderburgo, the island of the Museums Mall, if they like to walk are approximately 25-30 minutes and you can see many Eduficios Very parents like churches.
It is very good, you have kitchen to buy your food or if you know how to cook you can buy your food and prepare your food, which is quite well equipped.
It also has games and amenities area, patio with chairs, to relax.

Amstel Hostel offers an affordable and comfortable stay if you are looking for a night to spend in berlin without burning a hole in your pocket. The rooms have minimal basic amenities and are more cleaner than to what I had anticipated. Its highly recommend if you are travelling solo and wouldn't mind meeting a few people on the way.

A great hostel in a great locality. Has a variety of rooms suiting the budgets of every traveller. The breakfast spread was elaborate and the bar was good too. The staff were always helpful and provided valuable advice about Berlin. A great comfortable experience overall. Recommend it to everyone.

A good youth hostel for a day or two no more. The staff are available and friendly.

Good place to stay, close to Turmstraße station so you can get anywhere really easily. Staff are friendly, decent atmosphere too. Rooms are nice, especially for what you pay for them. Stayed in a two bed room with en suite bathroom, the en suite bathrooms are tiny and you have to be creative moving about if you're tall, but the facilities are great and you have everything you need. The all you can eat BBQ and beer for €7 on a Friday night is awesome, as is their 6-8pm happy hour for €1.50 beers. Breakfast on a morning is priced a bit steep for what you get, but generally really good value all around! Would stay at again next time I'm in Berlin.

Location to 2 metro stations from the zoo. Perfect!

Very nice hostel with a super friendly staff. They have happy hour for drinks and and a games room which is a nice treat. The rooms were nice, I would recommend getting one with a bathroom attached to the room for the extra 2 or 3 euros. Loud hallways but that's expected at a hostel. Had a great experience.

Great place. I had a comfortable stay here. Breakfast served was also really good!

Some things were nice and other things were just NOT OK. The breakfast was nice compared to the price and some of the rooms were good and other OK. All were clean fore a hostel. But I never experience a hostel with that much noise! We were on a class trip and one from the reception told some of my students the last nigth to remember to close doors and windows in their room because some black people just arrived. What! That just not OK. I am Mother of 2 wonderful Black children, and I just get sad and angry!

What about… a perfect hostel… great facility and the employees are something exceptional. That team… An American TV show environment.

Hostel is great! Tons of amenities, bike rentals, laundry service, kitchen and a bar. Rooms are nice and clean. Wouldn't recommend the breakfast though, could do a cheaper breakfast at the grocery store if you want.

A large and well managed hostel, professional staff (round-the-clock) who speak English well. Spatious and fully equipped kitchen, although fridge was rather packed. 4 bedroom was comfortable (with sink, mirror and lockers inside the room). Drinks and tasty coffee at the bar, and a standard European breakfast offering, plus the occasional burger night (veg option available). Happy hour from 6-8pm gets you a beer for 1.5 eur. Close to metro and bus lines, and a fantastic food market hall a few blocks away. Overall, a pretty great hostel for its size.

This hostel is really awesome, very clean and quite modern. I would definetly recommend if you want helpful staff at hand to give you directions and tips in which to go around the city. In addition its got a good lobby area where you can sit drink beer, and make many new friends from all around the world. Only downside was doing your own beadsheets, i've never come across a hostel that does this. I'm not a lazy person so I didn't mind doing them, but other than that it gets the full 5 stars, the location is great and has many foodstores to eat.

Although a fairly big hostel, this hostel was surprisingly well maintained! The reception area includes a tourist info desk, bar, spacious lounge area to cater the alcoholics, laptop typists or the chilled lot. Again the hostel is fairly big, so my room for example involved what felt like a 5 minute walk from reception (excluding the elevator). Keycard entry and lockers in rooms cover the security side of things. Didn't try the breakfast on offer since there were a number of cool places to eat nearby. Staff are chilled and cool people to talk too. Drinks on offer are good and reasonably priced. For the single traveler, it may feel too open to meet people, but I personally found it easy to socialize and have a great time. Would recommend for all travelers.

The hostel is in a fairly strategic location, Turmstrasse Metro stop a few steps away. Youthful environment, cozy, always clean bathrooms, common kitchen available, bed linen included, towels not. Staff available, free Wi-Fi.

Pleasant and friendly staff. A 5-minute walk from the subway. Take a deposit for a hairdryer, the key to the room, but free can print tickets.

Very close to the metro station. Room a little small for two people but with the necessary for a stay of 3 nights. There is also a communal kitchen. There is also a bar in the lobby. Very friendly and helpful Staff.

Ambience, facilities, personnel for a hostel top! Also the location is super. In the shower, the water is hot and the breakfast was great. The hostel also offers a bar, TV screen and table football, billiards and table tennis. Free Wi-Fi is there only in the Foyer / bar. Total super! PS: A trip to the Samy & Meatballs (approx. 300m to the West) opposite is worth!

Great hostel! We got a large, clean room for 14 Euros a night, the staff was friendly and helpful, the bar had cheap beer, and there was a game room. The only downside was the location but if you walk about 4 blocks you can hop on the s5/s7 (Bellevue station I believe) and it will take you to the heart of the city.

Such good quality for price paid! Clean, aesthically pleasing, bar and reception 24 hour, not too noisy to sleep or overcrowded, bathrooms clean!

Basic, dorm sizes are small but compact, clean and well maintained. Good enough for staying over a weekend but could get noisy. Good proximity to public transport.

Stayed for a week whilst in Berlin. Hostel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Small bar was nice but avoided the breakfast since it was quite expensive (€5.50 per day). Decent-ish transport links into the city but probably a bit too far out to be great.

Quite central. Well connected by bus and metro. Rooms simple and clean. The shared bathroom as well. Staff were helpful and friendly. The Wi-Fi was however absent in the rooms and not good in the lobby. A beautiful meeting areas with games and tables to relax or have a drink.

The location is very far from the main attractions of berlin, not walkable and a 30 minute train ride. No Wi-Fi in your rooms which I understand initiates more activity in the common rooms but I also enjoy being on the Wi-Fi in my room. Other than that, good service, good all you can eat meals.

A really nice low-life hotel. Not grade clean but I love it for the charm which is there. Can recommend one by the friendliness of the staff and the consistently international supply as also the reasonable prices but nothing for the upscale class what is rather for the common man.

Staff was very unfriendly. The neighbourhood was nice though, and breakfast was okay. Rooms were clean enough, but the showers were not.

Good hotel. Staff were friendly and listening to us that was good. Overall it was a good budget hotel. My only concern was that the Wi-Fi was available only near reception.

The filthiest Hotel ever, rude staff, bad food, old beds from the prison, the room very small, bathroom is dirty, shared showers with only a shower for 40 man! Then a lot of fun to anyone who wants to!

Amstel House is awesome! Best hostel I have ever visited. — The location is great, it is like 10 minutes from U-bahn and 5 minutes from bus station that goes to Hauptbahnhof. It is in living district so there is enough parking spots for free. — Staff was very helpful and friendly — Facilities — play room with table tennis, football and billiard, living room with sofas, guest kitchen, bar… — Rooms was OK, very clean. Shower was too small and there was no shelf to put shower gel on. — HAPPY HOURS in bar (bottle of good beer for only 1, 5 EUR) — ALL YOU CAN EAT BURGERS at friday.

I will give four stars because the price vs quality is a good deal. It's very basic hostel but cheap. Transportation to city center is fine and takes around 20 minutes. The staff sre very friendly. Breakfast buffet for 4 euros which is fine and can make you full! The only problem was the shower floor wasn't cleaned regularly and there no electricity outlets by the beds to leave your mobile next to you. I will consider staying here again.

The site is not far from the city centre. The prices are reasonable. The reception is very friendly and helpful. Everything in the all recommended.

The best hostel I've been on Europe.

Excelent service and great instalation.

Nice lobby, the rest (floors, rooms) is then quite barren and partly something dirty. It can happen that night new guests arrive and come into the room, what m. A. N. Suboptimal. Is also really quite loud, even when little guests. Loud, mostly bad music in the lobby, especially late at night. On the toilet, it smelled really daily fresh cigarette smoke. Showers were large and clean, but always need to the warm. All in all recommendable for guests who get along with the above.

We were with 47 people at the Amstel House Hostel Berlin and have associated with our age strongly upwards the average. However, we must say: we have us comfortable! Problems that there were, were solved with great kindness and competence.
It was a very nice stay (3 nights) for our cycling group and for a long weekend with normal demands, it is here in the right place.

Haha, that was a brilliant weekend. I'm only at the Amstel House. Had a super twin room for me alone and it was all very clean and well kept. Amstelbier, how cool! If there were just everywhere so much power for so little money.

My friend and I stayed at Amstel House for three nights in Berlin during our interrail-trip. Berlin is a great city and Amstel House is laying close to public transportation which gives you great and easy opportunities to travel around in the german capital. The rooms are in a standard condition with a small bathroom. Staff is very helpful and there are free Wi-Fi and computers in the lobby. The hostel offers social activities like karaoke and barbaque night. It is possible to rent bikes at the hostel which I definitely recommend. Berlin is a great city to discover by bike — very easy to come around.

Hotel looked very good from outside, but the surroundings of the hotel not really liked me. It is a matter of taste. When first looking in the room stopped us short breath: the room was far too small for 5 people and it looked old. There was fear on the high bed to lie because they look not only unstable but there were! Unreasonable was the corner with the sink, because no socket was nearby and came from the tap only a very small amount of water, nochnicht times sufficient to wash properly. The view from the window was also very interesting: a dirty terrace with views in all other rooms and cameras on the window set! Insolence!
The shower heads were just as appropriate that the clothes, you had to lay on the floor, was soaking wet
Upon our arrival we were told that from 22:00 clock was sleep, but nobody cared about. Although some guests over several floors away have talk from the Windows, loud music boomed, other guests complained several times, but nothing was done.
Never again in the Amstel hostel.
