Can’t wait to come back! We really enjoyed the hotel. It’s in a perfect location.

I arrived in the week of the new lockdown (2 November 2020). The hotel was extremely helpful and all staff really tried their best, even though there were many cancellations and a real sense of crisis outside. It's a sign of excellent dedication and professionalism from all involved, and I really appreciated this. I will definitely stay here again. My best wishes to all.

Great breakfast and book a massage like I did! BiPHit massage and Charlton Lay as my massage therapist gave my muscles and wellbeing a wonderful retreat!

We had a wonderful stay at the Platzl hotel in Munich. Everything was lovely, room, location, breakfast and reception desk staff. However, my complaint is regarding a problem in booking my room on their hotel website. Exactly one month in advance, on Saturday June 2, thought I had reserved the room for July 2-4. Reviewing the confirmation I saw the reservation was for June 2, the same day. I had made a mistake and didn't change the reservation calendar to July. I immediately contacted reservations and they aren't open on weekends. On Monday they got back to me, saying I was a NO SHOW and wanted me to pay for both days. I felt it was unfair since their website didn't offer an option to cancel online. They ended up charging me a reduced rate (room rate+breakfast for 2) for just one nights, instead of the two I reserved by mistake. I did stay there on July 2-4. I do feel this was unfair and expected better customer service resolving this issue. I cost me $269. So be careful if you reserve online with them directly.

Loved our stay here! Excellent location, service, and beautiful spacious rooms. Breakfast and sauna are both incredible. Only downside was the air conditioning, which is being renovated now and won't be a problem soon.

This is the hotel we come back to every time we visit Munich. But I was disappointed with the experience when we stayed here between June 2 and 4.6 of us checked in to 3 rooms. Out of the 3 rooms, 2 had faulty air conditioners. When we called, we were told that the lady who checked everyone in (which is me) was informed about it. I do not know who would agree on behalf of others knowing the room does not have working aircond, but I certainly would not without asking the others first and I am sure I do not remember having to ask my friends. One of the couples managed to get a new room, while hubby and I endured the warm night with a fan, opened windows and chatters from downstairs as the room faces the restaurant kitchen. It did not help when the staff were unapologetic and told us that they have no other rooms; without checking the system first. I had to insist before another staff responded and offered a room that would be vacated the next morning. I sincerely hope this was all due to a miscommunication.

Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Great little bar in here hidden away from the hustle and bustle of this very touristy area. Quality barware and decent selection of spirits. Staff are super friendly and know their drinks pretty well. Ask them for the nuts which come in super cute little brown bags. They have a little spice to them which makes them the prefect match with your Old Fashioned. Enjoy!

Staff very friendly and Breakfast Buffet is also great. You just have to pay attention to what Occasion you are there, because the exposed Location in the Party District does not allow a night's sleep, unless you pay a good Surcharge again on the already not shy room Rates.

It was a nice and quiet place, but unfortunately cocktails were too expensive. We had a problem with an allergy and had to change the drink, but they charged us for both anyways.

I agree with most reviews here, best steak in area. Staff is very friendly and very helpful. I was there on Sunday and the place fills up at 7 pm. Steak was perfectly cooked and the sides are very unique and delicious. Deserts are also sooo good.

Nice hotel in the heart of Munich, allowing you to see the whole of Munich centers. The rooms are nicely arranged, with even a separate small room for luggage. Did not tried out the restaurant or bar. The staff is friendly and it has an underground parking.

Loved the first feel I got when I walked into the hotel. The decor is very stylish and makes you feel warm and fuzzy. The staff were friendly. We stayed in the basic room and it is a bit small. Not enough surface space to put and open two suite cases, but it is stylish. The beds are lush and very comfortable. The location of the hotel is ideal. It's close to the train station at Marien platz, Hard Rock and Hofbrauhaus. We only stayed one night but it was lovely. Highly recommend.

Old established hotel, right in the city centre, close to Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt.

Fabulous stay! The staff were efficient and the rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel offer bicycles which we used a couple of times for touring. Great location for walking the Marienplatz. The lobby is comfortable and providing flavored cold water.

The centrally located hotel is within walking distance to the major shopping and tourist areas of Munich. The bed is comfortable, the staff polite, and the amenities appropriate for the cost.

Good hotel, location is perfect — right by the center of the city, one minute walking to marienplatz and the shopping area. Rooms are tiny but clean and well equiped.

Hello I would like to receive GM Mr. Buchta's opinion about my issue. 145＊2=290Euro we had to pay for damaging lamp shade with water. After 4nights stay when we check out they had claimed about lamp shade in the room was damaged by us. Actually I put some small washed clothes on it and saw water remarks but couldn't imagine we have "destroyed" lamp shade and it costs this amount. Since we had no time for flight and my husband paid the amount without being showed any evidence of damaged lamp shade price, I still doubt if it could be cleaned, since it's only water remark. Also as hotel interior such sensitive material shouldn't be used as bedside lamp shade. Anyway we had given this penalty instead of all good memory. My little son became 2yr during stay in this shit hotel but No staff had celebrated him nor talked to him, was also very disappointed point. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, just choose another hotel.

Nice room — clean with good amenities and complimentary water. Was noisy early due to construction and road works happening in the nearby streets (the hotel can't be blamed for this but it's a consideration). Wish we could have tried the award winning restaurant but they were fully booked for a month in advance.

Quality Hotel in the historic center. The facilities are good. In our room there was a tablet with information for customers and unrestricted access to the Internet. The Wi-Fi is good for a hotel. We enjoyed our stay.
Only disappointment, as the hotel is well located, the street can be bruillante in the evening as the morning in the week.

Lovely rooms with a great renovated bathroom. The bar downstairs is a little pricey but the atmosphere is very chic and the staff is very friendly. The room was nice! King-size bed was comfortable and roomy. There could have been more floorspace to set down luggage and things but it's easily overlooked when you take into account the location! Great walking distance to everything you want to see in Munich. The street is quiet but very central.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here while on our honeymoon. The reception desk welcomed us when we first arrived with maps of the city and recommendations for places to visit and was more than grateful to help us with any questions. The breakfast was phenomenal, especially considering it was included in the stay, what a bonus! The staff was more than accommodating, offering to make a dish if we wanted something that wasn't in the buffet. That wasn't necessary as all the food was delicious. The room with well cleaned and the bed was very comfortable (important when traveling for a while). The gym worked out nicely. It has a treadmill, two differnt spinning machines and a Concept 2 rowing machine. Nicer than any others we had seen on our trip through Europe. The spa was also very clean and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any friend.

Very great service, very comfortable room. You can hear crowd noise from the street, so if that may bother you at night get a room that isn't against the street.

Super nice traditional hotel in Munich… partially… the best in the hotel is the bar with rooms in a country house style right in the lobby… where you stylishly mixes real cocktails and you constantly sifts through celebrities… the hotel is around the corner from the Hofbräuhaus… but of which one hears my master-hotel in Munich nothing… central location in the room… not far to the Town Hall square and shopping… Super friendly staff. Left next to it, by the way, a very good restaurant…

Location, location, location. In heart of Munich within walking distance to so many great places. Hofbrau Haus is next door for easy access to swill some yummy lager. Rooms were clean. However I prefer a more modern decor. My room had nice view of Hofbrau Haus. And like I said you can't beat the location.

If you are staying in Munich over the weekend (or for a short period of time) this is the place to do. Central location, excellent service and breakfast. The rooms were very clean and nothing was missing. Marienplatz is only 3 mins walk away. The hotel has a parking and very helpful staff who speak decent English.

This is our second time at the Platzl, we have stayed there in 2008 and now 2014 There is no better location in Munich. The staff are super friendly and many have been there for a long time. This tells you it is a great place to work. The Ayinger restaurant is terrific, make sure you get there early enough to have the 100 year beer tapped from a new barrel the traditional way. It is tapped at 5 PM daily. It is has a local feeling even though it is directly opposite the Hofbrau Haus. The customers who dine there are very loyal and the staff are great and treat you like you have been coming there for years.
