Meyerbeer Beach Hostel

The beds were shaky. The upper bed kind of uncomfortable. The stairs attached to the bed hurt the feet. The room was nice. It's quite comfortable and is air-conditioned at night. Cleaning-stuff is there. Stuff is friendly. Breakfast is basic but good enough. No eggs or cheese but Nutella with butter, milk, marmalade, Muesli and juice. This is a hostel, so make sure you buy earplugs because some people snore a lot. It will save you.

Great hostel overall. Friendly and helpful staff, amazing location (steps from the beach! ), decent-sized rooms, good free breakfast, good atmosphere.

All around best hostel I've ever stayed at. If you're a seasoned hostel goer, this place will exceed any expectations you may have. They won some kind of award in 2017 for best hostel in France. I'm sure they'll win it again in 2018.

Very good hostel, very well placed, right next to a small supermarket. The staff are helpful, everything is done to make the stay enjoyable. Extremely well located, everything can be done on foot. The price is correct. Attention on the other hand, it is a hostel, so a lot of noise on Saturday night.

The best thing is the staff's attention, the worst thing does not have an elevator for guests to use for what up a suitcase of 30 kg, it was very hard, the breakfast safa type hostel, for a couple of days.

Great location with amazing staff. Free breakfast was okay. Very good atmosphere. It was rated as the top hostel in France for 2018 on hostelworld. I would say that it is good but maybe not the top. Downsides are the Wi-Fi was weak in my room but really good at the common area by the reception and elsewhere (? ), water pressure may be low at times with strange water temperatures, and the ladder on the bunk bed was pretty hard to get up. Also I had to pay in cash for all the nights besides for the first upon check-in.

The atmosphere is super friendly and the rooms are extremely clean. They also provide a free breakfast which is really nice when you are traveling.

This hotel might not be a five star hotelbut the service from their staff is more than five star. They go out of their way to help. A friend of mine lost her passport and the help and support they've given us was extraordinary. Thanks a lot special mention to Adriana and Elsa. To top it up, it might be a low budget hotel but the place is clean and very near the Promenade and Airport.

The hotel is 250 meters from the beach and the “Promenade des Anglais”, with an excellent location to search for stays on the beach, do sports or find power to be close to restaurants, cafés, and taking up a Carrefour City set the hotel. The hotel has free Wi-Fi and internet access, to surf or to do your Check-In of the trip, as well as service of printing boarding passes. Has a kitchen where you can prepare freely without extra cost, the food that you've bought in supermarkets or shops nearby and you will be able to share the room with other travelers staying at the same hotel. Best thing about the hotel is that most of the staff in the lobby are Spanish and speak perfect Spanish, taking into account his knowledge of the city and transportation options at a low price, it is a help great. Its unbeatable location allows you to walk to the Musée Masséna to the Nice Opera, the Hard Rock Cafe Nice, Craft Market, Evening to the beautiful Place Masséna and especially the Vieille Ville (Old Town). If you are travelling by train the hotel is 8 blocks from the main train station (Gare Nice Ville), which, if you like walking it won't cost you any your transfer to the hotel.

This hostel has a warm and welcoming staff, En suite rooms, inclusive breakfast and a great vibe … and to top it all its only 60m from the beach and a 15 min walk through all the hot spots of Nice to the old town. The hostel also organises a free guided walk of the city and regular pub crawls. What more could you ask for!

Great place! No complaints at all. Clean, comfortable, friendly and great location with 5 star service. Both receptionists spoke English and knew the city very well. Their recommendations were also good! Full convenience and comfort — they have a selection of beach items (tubes, mats, umbrellas, towels) which you can use without any charge. I lost my room key, and they gave me another one without any hassle/charge. Highly recommended.

Don't even doubt it, best hostel I've been in Europe. Rooms are cozy, place is overall tidy and clean. Staff incredible friendly, two blocks away from the beach (best part of the beach IMO), there's a Carrefour next door. Room may be somehow noisy if you're at any of the rooms by the street.

Great location to the beach, rooms are nice, people/staff are great, only thing that isn't great is the Wi-Fi. Just goes in and out and not too fast. Other then that, it's awesome. I love that they offer free towels, floaties for the ocean and breakfast.

Very nice hostel. Receptionist are great people. Rooms have adjustable AC. And despite other reviews, I believe the 15€ bar crawl was really good, you get a free shot at each place and discounted drinks. Very close to the beach, restaurants, shops, liquor store, and more.

Cleanliness of the bathrooms very limited. Unpleasant smell throughout the building. Maid who arrives in the room without being invited. I do not recommend!

The slightest noise in the hallway will awaken you, very sound atmosphere…

Functional and well maintained, I found rooms and bathrooms clean. It was a very good location. It is about fifty meters from an underground parking fee.

Very relaxed and clean. Downtown. Close to the beach and tourist places. No worse breakfast. Good for taking a bite by waking up mm if the intention is to slab up to have a real lunch. They have parasols, carpets, and beach balloons for borrowed. The employees are friendly and helpful.

I had a great time! Very cozy and nice especially! I would definitely go back. Comfortable rooms, kitchen suitable for the bare minimum. Bathrooms a bit cramped but liveable. Shared space a little small but suitable for new knowledge!

I really wanted to love this hostel, but I can't because of one thing. The common areas. Like many hostels in Europe, they are rarely located on the first floor and seldom will you find them with functional lifts. This was no exception, the lift is out of service so you will have to walk up stairs to find reception. You will be greeted by a very friendly and knowledgable staff that are ready, and willing to assist you with your needs. Note: they have a minimum charge of 50 euros if you are using a debit/credit card so bring cash for your visit. The hostel is located conveniently near the beach, and bus line from the airport, so it's a short walk to the hostel from where you disembark. The rooms were nice and kept pretty clean. All rooms have an ensuite, some are more modern than others but all very functional. Not all the beds are sturdy, and you have to try to locate a power outlet, which is often hidden by the bed being pushed so close to the walls. This however, is not the case in all rooms, but most from what I saw. The kitchen area is functional, yet small, as well as the rest of the common areas. For some reason they chose slated picnic like tables for the common areas which are not very sturdy and numerous people kept knocking things over on them. Hopefully they will change that. They have TV with cable/satellite a library of movies and playstation.

Ok. One of the greatest Hostel of my trip! Recepionists are kick ass! :D Thanks Elsa, Ilenia and Raul, I really appreciated all your good tips guys, you make this hostel a real fun place and made my stay there one of the best ever. The communal area is really Chill with the kitchen and all facilities, TV's, movies, computers… and real HOSTEL ATMOSPHERE, young and international! Supermarket is also right downstairs which is a + ;) and Super Clean. I highly recommend.

First of all this is probably the best price you will get for the location in Nice. Just a block away from the beach and all the really nice hotels but at only a fraction of the cost. We reserved the 8 bed dorm rooms originally but we're happy to find out that we had been upgraded to a 3 bed private room. Most hostel I've been at do not offer hotel services. However with Meyerbeer the rooms were cleaned everyday and beds made as well. The rooms came with towels too. We unfortunately only stayed here for 2 nights as the price went way up for our last night because of the Monaco Grand Prix. We had the displeasure of staying at a different hostel for one night and I can safely recommend this hostel for location, price, and cleanliness. If you are staying in Nice, there is no reason to consider any other hostels but this one.

Had my room broken into and phone taken. The place has really poor security. 3 other phones were also taken that night.

This place is infested with bed bugs! please do not stay here. I got covered in bedbug bites and had huge red marks all over my chest, arms and even face. The doctor confirmed they were bed bug bites. The sheets did not get changed the entire time we stayed here. I also found small blood stains on the mattress. When I told the staff, they were not surprised. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN due to health and safety concerns. How could they continue to operate such a slum and call it a hotel? Disgusting! Save yourself and save your vacation, DO NOT STAY HERE.
