The breakfast serving staff was excellent! The cleaning crew were friendly. The room was nice but loud in the mornings due to trash being collected at 7am and construction. The night staff behind the desk at greeted us poorly. Mumbling upon our arrival is no way to meet guests of your hotel. He had given us a code key for our room and when I came back down asking how it worked for turning on the inside lights. He spoke little English and I spoke little French. So I think he had asked me prior if I had put the key in the slot and told him “yes”thinking that meant the door to our room. Being in another country can be frustrating not knowing how things work. So since I hadn’t figured it out on my own he went up and saw it that I hadn’t put the coded key in the slot apparently like he had asked. So I was very rudely told “ I told you”. Also the day staff behind the desk looked put off when asked for a towel which is the only other thing we had asked for. Upon check out she looked like she had better things to do. Never being asked how are you or how was your stay. They were never engaging. I am very aware of what it takes to be in customer service and have been my whole life. I don’t expect the moon but I expect to be treated as if I paid you $150 a night or maybe act really well as if you care I am in your hotel. So being treated without good customer service definitely doesn't make me feel welcome or wanting to refer this place to anyone. If it wasn’t for the morning breakfast server I would give this place a 2 star.
