I loved the setting, the atmosphere, the friendliness of the staff. I least liked the chosen beverages (Mojitos, strawberry bland, white wine…) and the desserts (cream millefeuille bland and heavy and café liégeois coffee and with a crumble from the inside). The quality is not at the rendez-vous of the price.

Good food, friendly staff, cosy environment, a bit pricey.

Best terrace in Paris apparently. Really? There was a view of a wall, you are squashed up against your neighbour and it's trying desperately hard to be hip. Avoid and go somewhere simple where you're not paying through the nose for pretty standard fare.

Great discovery, I was only dining for myparts.
The place is beautiful, it's sophisticated and trendy. The staff are nice. A bit expensive but the place is worth it. It's just a shame you can't have the same card in the same restaurant depending on where you are located (in the dining room or on the terrace)
I recommend it all the same!

A better brunch in Paris. The choice is huge! Sugar, dirty and even typical dishes for lunch, a top pastry and orange juice pressed at will. The price is adequate to quality. I highly recommend without hesitation!

This review regards the restaurant. The interior decoration is trendy and hip. Food however is pretty tasteless and at that pricepoint you have a lot better options in Paris. Ask to sit on the rooftop. If you ethnicity is other than white they will probably say it’s completely booked however if you stand your ground and go up there to check for available tables you are able to get it. Even if you don’t get a table on the rooftop, check the clientel up there and compare it to the restaurant downstairs, and the segregation will be more than apparent.

Don't listen to any of the negative reviews — — the staff here is incredibly kind and helpful, and genuinely will ask you questions about you, where you're from, how your room is, etc. The rooms are on the smaller side, but this is boutique hotel (in American terms). The room it self is clean and has everything you need. The only thing I would caution is that the food can be a bit pricey. In most cases, it's probably easier on your wallet if you just walk to a nearby cafe. All in all, I will definitely be returning here when I come back again.

The frame is original. Although a little pricey, I appreciate their brunch formula: many choices, in hot dishes, cold and desserts. In addition we can take his time, the staff let us eat at our pace. To the point where we left at 6pm and arriving around 12:30;-)

Probably one of the best bedding value for money on Paris! I do not hesitate to go back every time I am around, both on personal and professional travel.
The breakfast is very varied. You will find everything that will make you happy.

Big disappointment on the staff. The restaurant is very unorganized. The wait was enormously long, bad command…
And no politeness! Just after we casted the waitress absolutely did not greet us. First time this happens to me!

Good for drinks on the rooftop on sunny evenings. Service was slow. The roasted chicken that all the guests could smell the whole evening on the rooftop roaster were only by reservation so better to reserve your chicken before you come :)

Restaurant Overrated. We found a small stone in our food (rice). It could have come from anywhere, and could have been « ok » if the reaction of the waiter had been appropriate! 0 excuse, 0 commercial offer. It’s almost as he was questioning us from where it comes! … really? … Moreover prices are high, and the quality not in accordance. never again!

Nothing to complain about apart from how weird and quirky the hotel is. You may love it or you may find it incredibly weird. The dinner and bar area seems to be a very popular evening hangout and very active!

I made a reservation of 8 people for a brunch, on our arrival everything went well a nice place a great choice of product.
But a detail of great importance has come to tarnish this beautiful image, I took a macaroon present in the buffet at will, once there I realize that the macaroon was infected with ants I leave to alert the staff who quickly realized that the E Plateau was also infected with ants, as soon as excuse was made but no fair trade was made I find it already outrageous to find this kind of stuff on my plate and even more outrageous to have no action on the part of the restaurant!
I thought I would go back with someone else in my entourage I think it will be avoided.

I love this place so much! The decoration is great with the different spaces and the outdoor terrace Super appreciable with the beautiful days! I think we eat really well and there is for all tastes. I recommend + + +!

Very good restaurant, with very good products and a great atmosphere. I went with friends, had a great time.

Ideal for a couple outing or a great opportunity. The price of the cocktails and menu to the card not given. A certain budget to plan for an exceptional outing. About 15 ~ 20 euros a cocktail. Warm and cosy setting.

The rooms are clean, well appointed, and the IMac a great help to put some music. Bed very very comfortable, a pleasure to spend the night. To note mirrors on both sides of the bed;-)

Com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around… Good hotel, cool staff, nice rooms, very good breakfast and the parking at the hotel is also a big plus, Metro is a 8 minute walk, busstop is in front of the Hotel. The ambience inside is playful and musical. Not when you are on the terrace or the music is absent and the smokers are well present. Flee if only a place on the terrace is available because the quality of the dishes certainly does not justify the prices.

Place is fancy and cool. Food is a little bit expensive for what you actually get. Waiters are cool. No pizzas delivered in the terrace. You can't talk inside because of the music volume. Cool but MEH.

Excellent Sunday Brunch! Lots of variety of dishes to choose from will, pasta, meats, garnishes, cold cuts, salads etc also a very good dessert table you have to book in time to ensure a place. The terrace is small and narrow, ideal for smokers and for those who want to enjoy the sun but I think it is prettier inside.

I was an overnight guest at Mama Shelter for two nights and it was SUPERB. Location wise it's not next to any metro stations (10+ minutes out) but there is a bus stop right outside. The room itself was incredible, their attention to detail shined. Breakfast was good (not sure if 17 euros good…), tasty nonetheless. Staff were incredibly helpful for any and everything! Fantastic experience.

Cool hotel with quite a young upbeat vibe. Breakfast is very spenny (€17 for buffet) but the rooms, service and vibe were very good.

I think it's overrated. First of all a good bed is everything. I had a hard bed with really bad/stuck places in the middle. They try to cover it with a topper… Also it will take you a hour to kill all the lights. The food is fine, but if you compare it with the prices they asked and the service. It's not in balance. I order a sushi bowl. It was 90 percent rice and a few vegetables and 3 tiny pieces of salmon. It cost 19 euros. The service is like a big food restaurant. Really quick and you sit on plastic chairs. Sleeping is also really hard, when a whole soccer team is playing soccer in the lobby. It's really amazing how people are affected by the good stories of the hotel. They hype it, to be part of the cool people. So they can say to friends "I was in mamma shelter". It's not cool to give critics. I must say: "Thumbs up for the marketing"

Mixed experience.
The cocktails were very good, but we waited an hour to eat cold dishes.
We arrived at 8:30, we ordered a cocktail. Our 2 cocktails were really good.
We ordered food but the suite was not up to what we drank.
The wine arrived late (almost after the starters were finished).
The starters (a pan-fried mushroom is a bone marrow) for that matter were correct
For the dishes, we waited almost an hour, (a bavette and a chicken cutlet), the bavette was cold and the chicken was dry.
It was already 11pm and the long service discouraged us from having dessert.
In short, a nice place to have one or more drinks, but to eat go your way.

A different hotel with a sublime and fun aesthetics and decor. It is not in the center but is well connected by public transportation.

Affordable luxury. An atypical hall and a delicious fragrance that floats in the air. The rooftop is just amazing with a breathtaking view of all bets and can be privatized. I recommend the ideal terrace for a drink in summer but also in winter it is heated. Concerts, a play area for small and large children with concerts. Plate level we feast and the pizzeria with its vegetarian pizza and the charcoal is not to be missed.

I always stay here while in Paris. The rooms are modern and the beds quite comfy. They also have an excellent breakfast buffet to het your day started on the right foot.

Typical kitschy French ambiance and kitchen… but not too cheesy. Failed courts where a slightly higher price level is qualitatively more than justified. Great service. Next time again.

A different hotel with an original hipster touch. What are the common areas are like other hotels, though with a more casual décor. The rooms are quite peculiar, and perfect for a couple weekend: low lights, a large comfortable bed and a lot of tranquility. I visited it for work and I liked it, but surely to know Paris in romantic plan is better still. Good breakfast and very friendly staff.

Hotel's trendy and the staff are friendly. Rooms have loads of quirky features like masks over the portable lights and huge mirrors. Looking forward to visiting other hotels in the chain.

Amazing bed! Comfy, clean, quiet, well designed room. Beautiful modern bathroom. The breakfast food is not so special, save your money and eat out.

We stayed one night at the hotel: great experience, the rooms are original and very comfortable and the welcome is really excellent. An unbeatable value for money in Paris! Very nice breakfast Also.

I really wanted to like this place more. The decor is cool. The food was decent but sadly the service was below usual Parisian standards. This coming from my friend who lives nearby who dined with me. Also the cocktails are good but overpriced. The Old Fashioned is 13 Euro and uses standard Jim Beam.

Totally over rated. Restaurant service terrible even by French standard. Bunch of inexperienced kids running around but hardly anyone working. No professional would work here. 1 15 hrs to get served. 15 minutes to get seated and restaurant only half full. No electric outlets at work desk!? Poor air conditioning etc etc.

The structure of the Mama is excellent for lunch, browse the afternoon, dinner and sleep.
Everything here is simply sublime, trendy, chic, comfortable, accessible on the roooftop, the bar and the restaurant.
The Mama fits into the new line of luxury range but not to fashion.

Recently had a two night stay at this hotel to discover after half an hour of checking out I'd left my lovely bracelet of sentimental value in the room. Whist the staff assured me they'd made every attempt at recovering this item there is no other conclusion to make other than the cleaning staff have taken it. The hotel will not accept this to be a valid reason even after assuring me that the bed linen, laundry and closets were checked thoroughly … but items simply can't vanish into thin air especially when I had laid this bracelet on the bed ready to wear that morning. Consequently I can't recommend but only warn potential guests that their belongings are not safe at this hotel.

At Mama Shleter, it is a hotel, a bar, a restaurant, a terrace, a rooftop, all under Philippe Stark dough that needs no introduction.
Good atmosphere, completely crowded, beautiful deco lounge, tasty dishes and good wine.
Nothing wrong, even the service was perfect.

OK, the place is original, some fashionable New Yorker but the atmosphere is cold!
Atmosphere unpleasant armoured bobos, disdaining.
What about service? A shame! servers both unpleasant and insulting who think they're stars. They're just poor guys working in a noisy environment and without soul.
Only brief decoration worth the cost then a Council: spend just like a free expo in edge of little belt.
Prices are "high" for a "classic" card, and the smile of the staff (free by definition) seems to him have forgotten places.
I don't there will spend for sure more a euro so the service is contemptuous and. Despicable.

So it turns out they messed up our booking and charged me 50% more Than the normal price for what I thought was the love package rate (champagne + breakfast). Actually I got charged still that + 50% but didn't get any of the extra service. So basically got charged an insane amount. Had to yell at them to understand what was going on and I still didn't get champagne or breakfast. That's what I call a scam and also awful customer service.

Nice and affordable hotel designed by Starck housing a very cool restaurant with a nice bar and laid back atmosphere. Avoid the food and prefer the pizzeria, open until 1.30am.

Let it be said, people come here to Mama more to the concept of the place for the quality of its products.
But what a concept! Decoration signed Philippe Starck is a real success and worth a look.
It is a success which was exported out of Paris.
The price to the consumer is not given but the original decoration and the atmosphere do the rest and make us want to come back.

We eat well. Nothing amazing, but for this kind of place a little trend the study is still an important point. The prices are very honest for the framework and the quality of the dishes. The atmosphere is really nice, the space, there is a background sound studied but not overpowering.
The placement of the tables is smart enough and so we can find happiness in head to head as a group of 20. I've done both and it is impeccable. The roof can also be privatized for a group party, good idea!
Despite my reservations, I still wait a bit for a table. Nothing dramatic. It's just that it takes its time. Besides there is a bar for that.
Note that there is some "pizzeria" on a large high table and the more traditional restaurant part. Depending on the crowd, the restaurant encroaching on the pizzeria part.

Mama loves you! and we love the mama. The hotel MAMA SHELTER opened a while in front of the Goutte d'Or in Paris in the 18th. The place is divided into four parts. The hotel, the pizzeria, the bar (there are also tables to eat) and the heated terrace. The place is very 'stylish' and offers different goodies and gadgets to buy. Their pizzas are really made 'in Italian. " thin dough and sauce tomato House. I also tested at the restaurant tuna unconvinced, a marvel. Their cocktails are original but a bit expensive (14 euros the small glass of Sex on the Beach). Young and friendly atmosphere and above all (significant) free cloakroom.

The restaurant of Mama Shelter is nice but not amazing. Of course, we go for decoration signed Starck. Yes it's original but not crazy either. I loved the high tables for two people. The food is slightly shifted in chairs that recall the old school chairs.
I have only tested the pizzas. They were quite correct. Not fault but no spark either.
Mama Shelter seems to be a great restaurant to visit at least once, not for decoration, but which I think has no real character, is not very warm. He did his job properly.
I hope to test the hotel that seems much more interesting.

The luxury hotel on the ground floor a stylish cocktail bar. The bartender, or excuse me, the "mixologist", has been very friendly, writing even a short list of bars to test in Paris for fans of cocktails. The dishes of the restaurant you can also order from the bar are original and not badly done. We still have to test the pizzeria! The rooms we have seen are of a very good quality-price ratio, but as a Parisian, watch me to share (although we'd like).

OK it's a bit far from everything. But worth it.
A former Renault garage converted into Hotel 4 * and bar/restaurant.
Start with a cocktail to fall to the central bar, there is the gentle animation of restaurant, open kitchen, giant Foosball, low ceiling in slate covered phrases and quotes.
We then chained with the restaurant (reservation strongly recommended! ) with dishes typical and search (giant Flash macaron, nutella is impossible a finish even if it is to fall! ) or with the pizzeria, whose prices are more affordable.
The servers have a real personality, most with the smile on his face even when the room is full and they run in all directions.

This must be one the most over-rated hotels ever. If you happen to stay there on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday you will be kept up by their in house DJ and the people partying. We stayed in the 5th floor, and had even paid for their 19. — Euro upgrade, but we could hear the beats through the walls and the people smoking outside until at least 2:00 am. The personnel tried to be helpful, but they were so incompetent, that it was pathetic. So you either need very sound sleep, or the best earplugs, and even then. The idea of having a club and a hotel in the same building might appeal to some folks out there, I generally book my hotel to get some sleep. At the rate these rooms go for, I expected much much better. Yeah the design is sort of nice, but it is much too pricey for what it is. PS: We have stayed at the Lyon and Marseille Mama Shelter before and in both places had a much better experience. Apparently in Paris they don't need to make the extra effort to accommodate both party folks and sleepers.

We wouldn't say we are hipster, but sure every now and then we don't mind being around that crowd. Mama Shelter Paris, is exactly that. No it isn't located in Le Marais or in an obvious part of town (located in 20th arrondissement), but for what you get many are willing to do the commute. From the time you make your reservation, it is difficult not to be impressed by the Mama slogan "Mama Loves You" which adds a nice element of fun and familiarity. You instantly feel like you are staying somewhere, where people truly care about you.

This place tries to be the trendy American restaurant of Paris, and does a pretty damn good job at it. The restaurant is wide-open but feels like your in a basement, even though there are glass doors with a view to the outdoor seating. Food is amazing, the Charcuterie alone is worth the visit. Really really nice vibe and decor. We didnt stay in the hotel but this looks to be pretty great as well.

Review for the restaurant, not the hotel. Had the Sunday buffet brunch (49 EUR pp) with two girlfriends and was suitably impressed by the wide selection of options and the classy and fun tongue in cheek decor. The restaurant is set on the ground floor of this very hip hotel (owned by Club Med, design by Philippe Starck) and I'm not sure what's it's like at lunch or dinner but the Sunday brunch seems to take over the entire lobby and lounge, couches included. We were impressed by the tasty fresh orange juice, the reasonably good bacon (tough to find in Paris) and tasty scrambled eggs (hard to pull off for a buffet). The brad was good, as well as the various baked goods, oh and the churros in a glass with a help-yourself mega jar of Nutella were pretty popular too! Service was a little all over the place, although we had a nice waitress when we could get hold of her. I'd definitely some back to try dinner or a lazy lunch, it's worth the trek out to the 20th for the atmosphere and the lingering over good food.
