Message posted on behalf of a loved one: on February 21st, 2018, I made a reservation (via our travel agency) for the night of March 27th to 28th 2018 at the Hotel Holiday Inn Paris Montparnasse Rue Gager Gabillot in Paris; reservation confirmed on 21/02 by the hotel. For information, I am an employee of the Airbus company and this reservation concerned a travel carried out professionally.
I present myself at the hotel on March 27th at around 20:00 and I discover that my reservation was cancelled on the pretext that my Visa card was invalid, neither the travel agency nor myself have been warned!
I ask them to find me a solution either in their establishment or in another Parisian hotel. In parallel, I contact our travel agency and after more than 2h30 of telephone exchanges and various attempts to find a rental, I find myself without accommodation. All hotels, rentals via Airbnb, hostels in Paris and the Parisian suburbs are complete, the only solution I am offered is a room at 3000 euros.
It is more than 23:00, I am still at the Holiday Inn and having no family or friends in Paris, I start to "crack" and at that time, the hotel proposes to set me a camp bed in a meeting room. The sales manager tells me that I will be offered a room the next morning in order to be able to use the bathroom from the check out of a client.
After breakfast, I go to the reception to have access to a room as agreed the day before and I am told that it is necessary to wait for the arrival of the maids to clean a room knowing that these arrive at 8:30 am and that I have to leave the hotel at 8:15 am!
I answer that I can not wait and they offer me an uncleaned room.
After discussion with our travel agency it is most likely that my room was rented at a much higher amount than that of the negotiated Airbus fare considering the very strong demand for accommodation for that night from March 27th to 28th, 2018.
This is my experience at the Holiday Inn Paris Montparnasse; experience that I'm not ready to forget and hotel that I highly recommend!
