Review of The Element Hôtel 3*

Wow what a bad experience. Stay at this hotel only if you have no desire to sleep. We reserved this hotel through a discount booking website that listed it as a 3 start hotel, I can tell you that it is a 1 star hotel. We paid twice their published rate. Upon checkin we were told we could only have 1 room key, and that anytime we left the hotel we had to leave our key with the front desk. This was so odd it made me very uncomfortable. The hotel is located in an Alley with another hotel located directly across the alley. That hotel has a roof top gathering area to hold parties on their 3rd floor. The humidity was very high and we had to open the window as the Air conditioning did not work. Unfortunately the hotel across the street holds loud parties with large speakers and lots of alcohol. The party did not end until 0430 in the morning. Starting at 0100 we started to complain to the front desk staff to help resolve the issue. But they were not inclined to do so. Supposedly they spoke to the the other hotel and the response was that the party was "not a problem". They supposedly also called the police, but no difference was made. The noise, yelling, and thrown and crashing beer bottles lasted until 0430. I measured the noise inside of my room and it registered 72 decibels on a meter. The hotel's lobby has a large photo of a nude woman on the wall. This made me question what type of hotel this was. Overall, the experience was not good. I paid for a good nights sleep, but did not get to sleep at all. If you decide to stay here, I hope there is no party across the street.
