Wonderfully place with a view on Saumur.

This is a terrific place to stay and make your base of operations for the Loire Valley. Nicolas was an entertaining host. He indulged my wish to converse in French, despite the fact that his English is vastly better than my French. The rooms are handsome and well appointed. The breakfast buffet was lavish. The view, as noted by other commenters, is stunning. Nicolas gave us excellent recommendations on things to see in the area. At the top of the list: Fontevraud Abbey. I had never heard of it. Amazing history and magnificent preservation work.
