U3z Aalborg Vandrerhjem Danhostel Aalborg Hostel

If you are going to stay here, probably is because you arrived in Aalborg for your studies and you haven't found any convenient accommodation yet. I have to tell you, that if you are at the beginning of the academic year, it is very hard to find a proper place to live. Anyway, the conditions at Danhostel are very harsh. I lived there for about 2 and a half months until I found a proper place to live. I stayed in a small cabin which I shared the first month and a half with 5 other guys. It was horrible as they were not clean at all, but I requested to be moved in another cabin which worked fine for a while. The kitchen and the bathroom are shared with all the other people who are living in the cabins. The staff is only cleaning them once a week, so they were absolutely disgusting, especially towards the end of my staying there when they stopped cleaning them completely. The hostel is equipped with a common room with tables and Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi didn't worked at all, impossible to open even the facebook page. The common room is also closing around 11PM which is not very nice when you have a lot to study. I was not allowed to eat in the common room, which was horrible during rainy weather. Because of common sense, I couldn't eat in the cabin neither (you just can't bring food in a 2x5 cabin where 5 other people are living, because of the smell), but my roommates did it anyway which contributed to the horrible smell in the cabin.

This is possibly the worst place I have ever stayed at, rooms incredibly cramped, staff not very good, just generally a very poor overall experience. I left as soon as I could. It is actually in quite a nice area, which makes the fact that accommodation is so poor an even bigger shame.

The beds were pretty basic. The bathroom was basic too. But the rooms were clean. The best thing: the food. The food was wonderful for a hostel.

I was in September 2008 as a "Technician" at this campsite. Now, I can not say that it was particularly good or particularly bad. It was just very nice.
First of all the positive things:
-There is one's proximity to the city of Aalborg. Working with the bike in about 8 minutes.
-It has a wonderful view of the campsite across the fjord in addition.
-The place is nicely divided by small hedges.
-The normal camping site by opaque walls of wood is separated from the Naturist place.
— And it is particularly important for people that are long away from home, free W-LAN network near the reception. It was enough even to make phone calls.
Negative to mention is that the showers were below average poor. At the press of the Waaserknopfes no longer than three seconds ran the water not two seconds in a further shower. Therefore, some guests with cable ties have developed a system to fix the button. But as showers is just no fun. And also it was not particularly clean.
The place is maintained visually beautiful, the meadows. But some rain, the grass was very soft and very deep lanes were at the point where I was.
