Very bad experience. Double room non-existent. … plank x bed with 5 cm mattress… no sheets… cleaning non-existent. The breakfast is a nightmare. Room dark… staff. Food very poor … Fruit and fruit salad in the box. Milk that I know nothing. Bread. 4 stars? You are unbeatable in inefficiency.

Wonderful stay beautiful hotel and location excellent. Thankyou to all the staff for making it a weekend to remember for my husbands 40th Birthday the upgrade was a fabulous surprise Thankyou once again.

We were there twice in the same week: first for two nights, then for one night after a trip to another city. We booked the Deluxe Grand Room and when we arrived, it was just as expected: good size room great view of the square. When we returned later in the week we were given an upgrade to the presidential suite, which is very spacious and beautiful. The staff were more than courteous, they were friendly and always helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much, and would definitely return to the Grand Hotel Praha.

The hotel sells expensive rooms overlooking the astronomical clock when they were being renovated, but the site was not even mentioned. It turns out that for a big price lived in a not very cozy room overlooking the construction site.
The hotel itself seems to be both pretty and is in the center, but if I knew about the construction site, I would choose a room for a simpler hotel or another.

Great location right on the square. Very clean and spacious rooms. The staff was courteous and helpful. This place has a lot of old world charm. Excellent breakfast buffet. We loved staying here.

Fabulous location within walking distance of it all… a museum hotel with exhibitions of many vintage clocks and pendulums, as well as the fabulous ceramics of Meissens. Friendly and always helpful staff. Hotel that I recommend to anyone who wants to visit Prague.

The room I was given has the air conditioning broken and it was very hot. I contacted the front desk and they said they could not fix it or give me another room. After they made me wait to get back to me (wasting my vacation time), they said that the best they could do for me was to give me another room the next day, but for that first night, I had to sleep in that sauna. The reception lady gave me no option for that night and did not want to call the manager because he has gone home and she did not want to disturb him. After much discussion and complaints from my side (more time wasted and aggravation), she offered an apartment outside the property. I packed everything and walk for about 5 minutes to the apartment. We started unpacking when we realized that the apartment did not have air-conditioning either, only a central heating system. I called again and the answer was the same: “there is nothing I can do for you”. I was basically kicked out of the hotel. I was forced to find another accommodation and it was after 10:00 PM (about 3 hours since I notify them that the A/C was broken). I have never been treated that way in any of the many accommodation/logging I have been to. Horrendous and abusive service. Not only they wasted my first night in Prague (finished finding and moving to a place by midnight), they messed up my anniversary vacation in Prague and left us with a very bitter taste. It was a huge mistake reserving in this hotel, which claimed was a 4 starts hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grand Hotel Praha. The staff was overwhelmingly friendly and went out of their way to accommodate all of our needs. The location is perfect, the room was comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. We were given a breakfast to take with us when we left early in the morning to catch our plane to go home. I will definitely recommend the Grand Hotel Praha to my friends.

We had a lovely time here. The room was clean and spacious, free Wi-Fi, good breakfast, staff very polite and helpful. The location is perfect, right in the heart of everything and most attractions are within walking distance. The only drawback was having to walk up 3 flights of stairs to our room.

Absolutely destroyed my honeymoon. They double booked my room and never informed me. I arrived to the hotel, filled out all the paperwork, and as they were giving me the keys, they said oh your room is now a deluxe room— not the presidential suite that you had already paid for. I spent the entire first day of my honeymoon trying to find a new hotel. It was a disaster. Not even an email in advance so I could have found a new hotel before we arrived. Awful. Awful. Awful. Oh and the clock is under construction so there’s not even a pretty view.

Antique outside, but also has the excellent scenery, bit in the astronomical clock directly opposite, to where are very convenient, near a pile of restaurants can choose, travel information can ask the counter, usually will get very kind assistance.

Nice Trip to Prague for about a week, it was a bit tricky to find the place at first due to construction work around the hotel and being busy with lots of tourists around the city but with patience I found it… Staff were friendly and helpful. I had a great stay in Prague, I would definitely visit there again.

They pass you to another hotel where you go up and down at least to our room 100 steps with a time from the hotel door to the room of 3min. … They tell you they are giving you a better room but we did not see the best in Costo_beneficio with this room that ends up staying 1 block away.

First class location. Right across from the Astronomical Clock and on the central square. We stayed in the Attic Suite and it was incredible. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Area is safe even at late at night. Within walking distance of almost everything. Highly recommended.

Ornately decorated hotel with well prepared French style cuisine. I attended a jazz dinner with a talented pianist and saxophone player, and I would recommend this to others. Great for a romantic evening.

Right on Old Town Square. Incredible views of the entire square. Go during Advent to experience the Christmas market. Staff were professional, polite, helpful. Rooms were classy and historical. Centrally located to everything. The place to stay.

What I liked — The location is great, people were friendly and very polite, Bathrooms were clean, new and spacious! Good breakfast spread. What I didnt like — there are two buildings to this hotel, one of them has elevators, other one does not. Our room was in the historic building (the one with stairs), which if I recall right — was a hike of 60+ steps. While I understand that the hotel cannot have an elevator here, I think they should have disclosed this on their site. Second we had reserved a king bed, but after climbing up three floors, found out the room had 2 separate beds in two different corners of the room. To their credit they did offer us another room and finally helped moved the beds together. (P. S. If you like the historic nature and are considering staying here, know that there is staff available to help with the luggage up the stairs)

The location of the hotel may not be better, you are in the city center to walk anywhere. The room is fine, has no luxuries but has everything you need, it's clean and the bathrooms also. On the other hand, do not delay to go down to breakfast because they do not repose many things, if you are one of those who like to try everything. Very friendly service, they let us leave our bags in a room until we got the taxi that took us to the airport.

Service was GREAT! The staff was really helpful. But the placement of the room is just the worst. I stayed with my 60+ y. O mother and the room is just tooooo far away. It was located in different building and you have to go upstair downstair upstair downstair and finally getting to the room in 3 minutes or more. No lift. This hotel should have put all these info on internet web. I would not want to stay in this kinda hotel eventhough it is free. I’d rather pay more money.

Best location possible. We had breakfast in its first floor restaurant directly across the Astronomical Clock. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very big and so was the marble toilet.

We loved this hotel! Perfect Location, wonderful service, clean as a whistle. The appointments, the furniture, the decorations, all transform you to a different time. Get a room facing the clock and the square.

The hotel's location couldn't be better. It faces the Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square. The rooms are in classical baroque style. Breakfast at Cafe Mozart was delightful with strains of Mozart's music in the background. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive to guests' needs. Hotel Grand Hotel Praha is the perfect place to stay in Prague for leisure and business.

Beautiful well situated in the heart of Prague.

I cannot possibly love this hotel more. It is perfectly situated, not only for being near the astronomical clock, but also being in the centre of everything. It is the best home base you can get.

Excellent staff, excellent room, good breakfast, perfect location, bad Wi-Fi. Historic room is very nice and interesting. No elevator for this type of room but staff will help you transport your luggages. Highly recommended!

Stayed last week and had a room overlooking the astronomical clock, absolutely fantastic view. Reception manager, bell boy, maid all very friendly and professional. Hotel in great location, the Motzart restuarant overlooking the clock is beautiful which is where breackfast is served. No complaints at all about this hotel and ticks all boxes. … Just a note we have stayed in Prague on 5 occasions and this is by far the best location, quality and value for money, will book this hotel again when we visit the beautiful city of Prague again in the near future.

I booked my family into the hotel for a week, to attend my wedding. I also stayed the night before my wedding and wedding night. I visited every day to pick up family to show them around Prague. The staff are all so professional and friendly. I would personally like to thank Olbrecht Lubonir (reception), and Zelinka Vladimir (restaurant host), as they showed exceptional standards of service. The hotel is so clean, thanks to the great house keeping staff. They themselves are so friendly. The hotel is in best location in Prague, well so I think. The restaurant has excellent food, especially the breakfast which is included in the room charge. High speed internet also included in room charge. I was married in the Old Town Hall, directly opposite the hotel, so very convenient. All in all, the Grand Hotel Prague is 5 star in my opinion. Thanks to all staff concerned. Stayed March 2013, traveled with family.

Very classy. The concierge is nice and very helpful. A bit noisy if you give on the big clock but what a nice view…

Wonderful hotel! The staff were very kind, warm, helpful and accommodating. Great atmosphere! The meals were superb. Needless to say, my room was equal in quality. Looking forward to coming back! :)

Stayed here in December 2011. The room was great. The bathroom large and clean. Our room overlooked the Astronomical Clock, which we loved, but the noise from the street below might bother some. No elevator, but staff carried our bags to the room. The main part of the hotel has an elevator. Breakfast was great. Location easy walk to Charles Bridge and public transport.

Beginning with our greeting by Hana everything at this hotel made our stay in Prague a wonderful experience. Hana was VERY helpful, as was the rest of the staff, in making our stay a wonderful experience and one we will never forget. The room was beautiful and the view outside directly overlooked the Astronomical Clock. Everyone was smiles and very helpful which always seemed to make me feel welcome. I left a review sheet behind so they know about any improvements that could be made all of which would only make the stay better but wouldn't detract from anything if they didn't do it. I can say that jet lag will cause you to wake up fairly early (I was waking up around 0600 every morning) you won't find anywhere to get an early cup of coffee until the restaurant opens at 0700. All told, when I come back to Prague, I WILL be staying at the Grand Hotel again, I found it enhanced my experience and was the first thing that made us fall in love with Prague.

We had a great stay in a deluxe room with view on the old town square. Great to see the square, tourists crowding in front of the astronomical clock (opposite of our room). Beautiful to listen to the music coming from the square in our hotel room. Staff was very friendly and made sure our stay was great.

Given the high price of this place, the room was small and the air conditioning was out of order during the hottest week of the year. Classy place though. Find a place not so close to the old town square. You pay far too much for location here.

Dependance of Grand Hotel (next door, where there are also very good breakfast) in the former Apostolic Nunciature. Our appt. (Attic suite) on the 5th floor is accessed only via the stairs. This compensates for the historical ambience of the room, and the incomparable views directly on the old town hall. Maybe the Pope slept here ever. Expensive, but highly recommended.

Very good location, but the accommodations and staff, while completely satisfactory, were not quite at the level I would have expected given the price and reputation.
