Falling Lakes Hostel Hostel

Lovely place to be when you visiting Plitvice. You immediately feel welcome. I came in and calm down. The Owners and Stuff are very friendly and helpful. The house is very Clean and well equipped. Sometimes you can buy a tasty dinner. From here you can start the tour to plitvice lakes and do hiking tours to interessing places around. Stay one or two days longer then you planned.

Great, heartwarming hostel to meet interesting people and discover Croatia. Would have definitely stayed longer but hey, planes don't wait.

Great hostel with a lively atmosphere. Daily hikes and group activities are organized to help people socialize. Large common areas, with helpful and friendly staff. A great place to stay if you want to check out Plitvice before the day-trippers swarm the place. There are cheap shuttles from the hostel to the national park starting at 8:30 in the morning. They also have kayaking and other trips leaving from the hostel.

This hostel is a bit pricey but for a reason! It’s super clean, staff is friendly, and they have awesome hiking options you can do right from the front door! Beds are comfy, and it’s really nice that they shut things down at 11 so people can sleep and have energy for hiking the next day! They also have a shuttle to and from Plitvice National Parks, which was super convenient.

In the middle of nowhere but perfect if you want to spend time at Plitvice National Park. The staff was friendly and more than willing to answer any questions we had and to give suggestions. Small hostel but the rooms were nice. Most people bought groceries and cooked their meals in the hostel.

One of the NICEST hostels I have stayed at in a LONG time! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the facilities are spacious and very clean. People who stay here are also very outgoing and I made some amazing friends over cooking in the kitchen, s'mores over the fire and playing Settlers of Catan under the twinkley lights. The hostel also offers a variety of hiking trails in the area you can do for free which was a really nice perk.

Pretty nice place. Would have been nice if they had a tv. Not a far walk from the city.

Best place to be in for this location. Definitely one should stay here. One of the best memorable days.

We reached late in the night and found our beds and keys waiting for us. The staff is extremely helpful and welcoming. The hostel has a lively common room which has some games and books that you can pick up. I stayed only a night at the hostel and wish I could have stayed longer.

Location is great to the lakes, $5 round trip shuttle is a great service, a direct one way taxi will run 150 Kuna. The hostel does not have meal service or a bar but there is a kitchen for independent use and a cool common space with board games. The space was clean and the staff was super friendly. All restaurants are within a 15 minute walk and the hostel is only about a 5-7 minute walk from Korenicas main bus stop, very easy to find. Entrance into the Plitvice Lakes is 150 Kuna; do trail 'K', it's the best!

Clean, comfortable and social. A 20 minute shuttle ride is available to and from the lakes. Additional activities in the area were organized as well. Full kitchen available as well as several common areas to meet other guests. Close to a grocery store and several restaursnts/bars.

The people here are wonderful! Such a great, social atmosphere. This is the place to be for plitvice lakes. Go kayaking with them and do the sunset hike too! The whole hostel does it together :)

Amazing place to stay while visiting NP Plitvice Lakes. The hostel is nicely decorated, very clean, and has a great vibe. Very helpful and kind owner. I had a great time at this hostel. Thank you so much.

The staff gave incorrect information three times, twice to me and once to another guest. And it wasn't really little things. Mine was about bus schedules. I told them I what bus I was taking and they said ok, but after standing at the stop for over an hour both times I finally figured out that those times didn't exist. She told me that I should have checked the bus schedule, but the hostel should know the times. When confronted they were very defensive and blamed it on me for not checking the schedule. But when you specifically tell the staff you are taking the 8:30 bus but there is no 8:30 bus they should know that and tell you. And then when you say you're talking the 10:30 bus and there isn't one they should know that. But she said it wasn't her responsibility to be up to date on them. Also, the Wi-Fi never worked the two days I was there. But, the beds and pillows are great, the lockers are huge (I could have slept in them) and the common room/kitchen were big though uncomfortable (tables and chairs, no couches).

Nice and clean. Very close to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. The hostel even has shuttle service to the the park. Highly recommended for a budget stay!

Amazing place with amazing people and staff. Super helpful and attentive. They offer tons of activities threw out the day and evening. Their dinner is cheep and tastes amazing! Recommend it!

15 minutes by car or shuttle (the shuttle offers the service) from the entrance of the lakes. It is a really good and clean hostel with a great ecological mindset. The recepcionist is incredibly kind and give all the necessary hints.

The proprietors here are amongst the best. They vet only the most helpful, communicable and friendly staff. In addition to extreme cleanliness​ they also provide events to help integrate a fun social atmosphere. Most importantly, the place is quiet. This is an excellent alternative to typical tourist hostels. If you want to relax and meet more mature like minded adventures, this is the place to go!

A delightful little gem. Staff are very helpful and provide advice on how to make the most of your stay. Transfer provided for Plitvice lakes and other activities (hiking, kayaking) organised. Facilities are excellent. Would definitely recommend.

They offer great free experiences like day hikes and sunset hikes with campfires on some nights. They have good recommendations for what to do during the days. Very friendly but can be a little loud at night if you are in a room on the bottom floor next to the social areas.

I have nothing except everything was perfectly fine. I highly recommended this place to anyone. Although we stayed in the private room, but the dorms are as wonderful too. And please help us to feed Rudy (a black & white stray dog) who usually cones for food. Oh did I mention he also went up hikkng with us on the first day?! It's amazing!

Perfect location to base yourself for exploring Plitvice Lakes national park and hikes in its surroundings.

Nice hostel with nice volunteers. Well suited to visit Plitvice National Park using their shuttle bus or for doing hikes starting from the hostel.

Nice hostel, clean and comfy rooms. Good showers. Nice social community atmosphere. Lots of board games.

We had a great two-night stay at Falling Lake Hostel. The Hostel is the perfect base for a day hike in the Plitvice Lakes, an easy 20 min shuttle coach is provided for a reasonable price. But also other hikes and bike tours on one of the surrounding mountains are worth trying. The Hostel itself is freshly renovated and offers all services for backpackers. However, the real treasure is the community that is lived in the Hostel. The owners Irena and Boris, but also all the staff are very welcoming and communicative. We immediately felt at ease when coming home and having the first sip of beer/white wine and enjoying the barbeque on the patio with people from all around the world. Altogether absolutely no complaints, we would and we will come back again! Jan and Julia.

Atmosphere is awesome, this lead to a bit of noise duri G the late hours, judge by yourself if you may like it or not :-)

Lovely lovely staff, great atmosphere, sup sociable and friendly place! Activities every night if you want, no breakfast but they do a shuttle to the lakes, really helpful in general hikes etc you can do around the area also:-)

Best hostel I've ever been to, awesome staff, awesome location, awesome facilities, awesome atmosphere, awesome awesome awesome.

There are very few hostels that make you feel at home. And to find such a hostel in the week of its opening and being one of the first guests is truly a privilege, one we have not experienced in many years of traveling. This place is possibly the best hostel we've ever stayed at. We've stayed at dozens of hostels, so we don't say this lightly. Irina and Boris, the owners, have put a lot of thought and love into this place, and it shines through. The place is gorgeous! There are details that we never saw in other hostels, like daily washed hand towels in the bathrooms, recycling bins in the kitchen, the record player and fresh herbs from the garden. All the things that make a great hostel such as, interesting stuff to do, location, pricing, comfort and hospitality, Falling Lakes has them all. But there's a special something about this place — an extra care and thoughtfulness which is noticed immediately. If you are in the area, please go experience and see for yourself!
