De La Tierra EcoHouse Farm Farm Stay

We were received with great kindness by Amanda and Ruben in Santa Ana, it is a real little oasis of calm and nature. I loved spending a night in this family home with a lot of charm, it feels like home and Amanda is caring, I highly recommend this ideally located place and the sauces that Amanda's mom prepares. We will be back ;-)

I highly recommend the De La Tierra EcoHouse Farm.
It has the charm of a boutique hotel with its colonial and welcoming look and feel. It is well located not too far from the airport in a quiet neighborhood that is safe and has some nice restaurants and amenities nearby. They offer an excellent service and advice making sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. The host will also prepare you a delicious and healthy breakfast. Don’t hesitate and book it! It’s very reasonably priced.

Amanda is amazing! She helped me to plan and to book 3 weeks im Costa Rica and evetything she had recommended was perfect! I had booked a few places by myself but they were not good, thankfully Amanda was helping us out with a few issues in Costa Rica as we both dont speak spanish. She was always available and helped us in every way possible. The last 2 days of our trip we stayed at this Guesthouse which is very lovely and makes you feel home. Very clean and very nice decorated with a lovely breakfast and a lovely host.
Definately recommend this place and also Amanda, for booking Hotels and Tours and Transfers around the country.

We stayed at De La Tierra for just one night, but it was a fantastic start to our trip! The rooms were clean, the water hot, internet fast, and food was delicious. They even had a rail for the bed since we were traveling with a toddler! The thing that sets De La Tierra apart from other hotels is Amanda herself. Amanda’s help with setting up our phones to work, teaching us about all things Costa Rica and guiding us to the best places to visit/stay/eat at really was invaluable. She went so far as to walk my mom over to the store to purchase phone cards and walked us through the set up for an hour. Truly above and beyond! We traveled with my family, 5 adults and 2 kids from ages 1-65 and across the board we all had nothing but good things to say about our stay. Highly recommend!

We arrived at De La Tierra after an 11 hour flight and were welcomed by the lovely Amanda. She was an outstanding host, very knowledgeable about her country and provided us with so much information. She was particularly helpful with sorting out our hire car. The b and b was rustic, laid-back and we felt at home there. Thank you Amanda. John and Jan x.

Our stay here was PERFECT! We arrived tired and confused from the USA and Amanda made us feel right at home. De La Tierra was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Amanda helped us get our phones set up and provided invaluable insight on fun places to take our group while in CR. Strongly recommend.

The EcoHouse de La Tierra is clearly a recommendation. The property is only about 10 minutes from the airport and is very suitable as the First and last place to Stay after arrival or before departure. The EcoHouse is very friendly and offers a spacious nice garden. The friendly hostess helped us upon arrival and give us many travel tips for the coming days. Thank you Amanda, we love to come back!

What a lovely visit! Amanda kept in touch with me for weeks as I planned my trip around the country. She is very helpful with suggestions and helping to make connections with places and people. She knows Costa Rica like the back of her hand and has many contacts! She organized a friendly, professional, prompt, driver for me at the airport who brought me to the guest house (and then back to the airport next day). By the time I arrived, I felt like coming home to long lost family and was greeted like so. I arrived early so breakfast was made for me. Then I was able to visit the nearby animal refuge by taxi and some restaurants and shopping within short walking distance of the house. My room was clean and I was quite comfortable and felt very safe in this nice refuge in the city and would recommend it to my best friends and favorite family.

Fantastic and surprising location. Super, and I mean *super* helpful and attentive host, Amanda. Beautiful house. Wonderful and dietary-accomodating breakfast. Did I mention how knowledgeable and kind the owner is, always ready to help with virtually any questions about living in and visiting Costa Rica? Plenty convenient to the airport if that's your thing as well!

De La Tierra Ecohouse Farm is a quaint, well appointed B&B style accomodation with fabulous hosts. Amanda is a wealth of knowledge about Costa Rica and its various sites. She is also super friendly and speaks German, Spanish & English. Highly recommend. Great place to stay if you are looking for a car in San Jose as her partner also provides a car finding service for expats.

We enjoyed our stay here. It is a quiet oasis in an otherwise busy area. Amanda was a gracious host and served us a lovely breakfast every morning! She also had helpful tips and ideas for fun activities to keep our kids entertained.

Just completed a 3-night stay at De La Tierra EcoHouse Farm. If you're looking for a typical, commercial hotel, this is not for you. But if you want a place that feels like you're visiting a friend, you must try it. It's in a convenient spot; not far from San Jose. Amanda is a wonderful host. She gave great recommendations on places to see, best way to get there and even called ahead to make sure the places were opened since it was a national holiday.

An oasis near the city! This beautiful, open home is clean and spacious. I enjoyed a good nights rest and delicious breakfast. The best rice and beans I had in Costa Rica! Amanda made them with her home-made pumpkin picante sauce, which she sells at the local markets. Amanda is a very kind and intelligent hostess, fluent in English and German. Her and her dogs made me feel like I was at home. The backyard has a garden and fruit trees, making for a lovely place to walk around and relax. Warning! She accepts cash only, dollars or colones. Turning in the gate felt a bit dangerous during heavy traffic. I would love to stay again!

De La Tierra EcoHouse Farm is the perfect place to make excursions to the san José area or to the city itself or to spend the days after arrival or before departure from the airport. But it's a place to feel at home. This is mainly due to the dear Amanda, who welcomed us with her like a friend and gave us in perfect German super many helpful tips for our travel planning. Amanda is always there for the guests, makes delicious breakfast or as for us also a packed lunch. You can see how much love she puts into the house of her childhood and the care of the guests. Thank you very much for everything, we have and felt so comfortable with you and would come back right away! Hasta luego!

I have stayed at this guesthouse in March 2017 and it was so good I could stay there for a year! Unfortunately was just at the begining and end of an awesome trip though Costa Rica. The owners of De la Tierra EcoHouse Farm in Santa Ana orginized for me the transfer to San José Airport and was very convenience. Fiendly, clean, and good quality standards. Higly recommendable. I wouldn´t doubt a second to visit them again when I come to Costa Rica. It works for short as well as long stays.

An amazing place, where you'll find yourself surrounded by nature, close to a vast variety of gastronomic choices and just a few minutes away from a couple of the best and biggest shopping malls in the country… so, what are you waiting for? this is the perfect place, with the best hosts ever.

Truly one of the highlights of our 9 day trip all around Costa Rica. The host is an amazing person, and the property is special too! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in San Jose!

This nice and clean property is a little oasis in the city. What's better, their kind attention and their products ayote. Very eco-friendly and sustainable therapies of acupuncture. And very nice magazines!

Naturally beautiful eco farmhouse plus hotel surrounded by trees. This place is very peaceful and creatively decorated. Awesome helpful host Amanda and her family is very attentive. Their 3 lovely dogs are friendly and adds to the stay by their warm gestures. Loved this place and highly recommemd it. Prices are quite affordable in comparison to other hotels. This bed and breakfast hotel is very close to indian restaurant naan and curries as well as many other restaurants. Must stay there.

It is a very nice place, comfortable and extremely cute. Your host is very friendly, willing and attentive. The breakfast is very good! But the best is its artisan squash chile:) Excellent place!

Enjoyed my two night stay at the EcoHouse Farm. Manda is very welcoming and helpful in everything. Very clean place, very rootsy and I loved all the artwork and decor around the house. Lots of attention to detail for sure. It's a very cosy place, and the breakfast was as good as you can ask for. I loved the whole Pumpkin theme they have going on, they greeted us with pumkin soup, at breakfast they had their own home made pumkin hot sauce that went so good with the eggs and Gallo Pinto, and even a Pumpkin Muffin for desert! The place is close to the airport, Multiplaza Mall, very convenient. I will stay there again for sure!
