Very familiar to Careful attention.

Very nice hotel. Close to the entrance of the nature reserve. We stayed there for several days. A bit pricy but very nice! good hotel restaurant too. Nice view the hotel is on a hill.

For a two nights okay, clean and friendly.
The breakfast is okay, which is definitely lacking the pool.
In the photo it had a pool which is but from the Homonymous hotel near airport.

Clean and tidy, do not expect and then you will not be disappointed. Bring warm clothing, strong wind all the time due to location and height. Everything closed very early, at 22.00 there is no bar. We want to the lobby During that time when we ware sitting they closed the light and left us in the dark (we were stunned). Nice view, poor breakfast. Very far from the "city".

Breakfast was okay. Not a lot of choices. The rooms are clean, very slippery wooden floors. It can get quite cold at night and theres no heating so bring warm clothes. Also its very windy so you feel and hear the whole building shaking. Its a hike up. And down a hill from the parking to the room.

Great view from some rooms. Be quiet. Atmospheric.

The good thing about this hotel is it's proximity to monteverde cloud forest — easy walking distance. Unfortunately this is also a not so good thing as it means it is high up and more likely to be in cloud and cool winds. We seemed to be there during a storm, pouring rain and gale force winds which whistled through the windows. It was very cold with no heating and so bring warm clothing and waterproofs. Also, I suspect, paying extra for a better room away from the main hotel building is worth doing, ours didn't have a great view. Food was good. Probably would have liked it more if we hadn't been so cold and wet.

It is not ta so bad, but can improve.

Absolute rip off. Rooms you get at check in have nothing to do with the pictures, and when you complain at reception they just smile and say “Yes, those are rooms in another building or another floor” and make no attempt to make good on what is advertised. As there is nothing they are willing to do, and this is not what we paid for, I will refuse the charge on the credit card as fraud, which this place is. Make yourself a favor and book something else.

The room was really dark and cold. There was also a persistent musty smell. Shower didn't have a lot of pressure. Good location if you want to spend lots of time in monteverde park but road into hotel is really rough and there is nothing nearby for food unless you drive back out. Hotel restaurant is a decent pick for dinner. Staff was friendly and helpful if you ask them questions. Unfortunately would not want to stay here again because of the atmosphere of the room.

Loved it here! The staff was beyond a 10, the grounds beyond a 10! Birding was great just on their grounds, but within walking distance of the cloud forest! Fantastic place.

The perfect place to stay in Monteverde. Clean, quite and surrounded by the cloud forest. The hotel receptionist (Jerry) wss such a friendly and polite person and he offered us an upgrade to a suite room.

The place is just great. The food is delicious and the staff so friendly. Over the night you'll have a unique encounter with the nature in any room.

Nice place. Room 1 felt like going to the deck quarters of a ship but it was ok.

Highly recommended. Had a big room and the service was impeccable at all times.

Stellar location for visiting the Mondeverde Reserva. Closest hotel to Reserva. We walked there. Hotel has many levels of rooms… We were middle range which was just fine. Great staff, good restaurant. .

Beautiful Hotel to relax in, surrounded by the mountains of Monteverde. It is very close to the Monteverde Reserve, you can walk. To go to the center of population of the place (Santa Elena) is due to go on public transport (Taxi and bus) or private vehicle. The restaurant has a quiet and warm, the menu is small but delicious. The treatment of the staff is excellent. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and clean.

Of the most distant of the village, a path of stones. Large rooms but no heating, flooding through the wind through the doors, which gave a cold. Very well located in the Cloud Forest, and both yes. Breakfast mediocre, I cannot understand the lack of variety of fruits they put in the hotels I've been to, and top with juices from pot.

Estivimos there's nothing more that one day, we arrived in the evening at 9 p. M, the road is very hard to find if you don't carry any GPS device because it is very poorly signposted, the terreny to reach it is full of rocks and not to be take a cotche a decent little tremble on all sides, once we got there we were given room 22 I 23, when we arrived we realized that there was no swimming pool or ginnasio or anything I estavamos isolated from the hand of God so that we got to see the TV and it didn't work, call the front desk for you to bring someone from maintenance came shortly and fixed it without problems. From the room we had a view of green Mountain beautiful that veismos from a window. It is a hotel that is not bad if you want tranquility and space, the service is not the best but is also not bad although the food left a little to be desired and the localitzacion is not the most suitable.

Beautiful accommodations situated in the cloud forest. The Trapp family is very hospitable. We enjoyed watching a toucan outside our window and the swarms of hummingbirds at the feeders. It was a little colder here than other parts of Costa Rica, so bring a light jacket in summer months.

Secluded very quiet and safe.

The hotel I would highlight the staff's attention, their views and the location next to the natural park. The suites are nice but we lack a fridge and the amenities. The breakfast should be improved taking into account as it wants to position the hotel, due to this not we decided to give a chance to the hotel's kitchen for lunch or dinner.

An amazing hotel. Next to the natural reserve of monte green. If you go to Costa Rica not you pudeis let this destination. 1500 metres of height. I advise you to hiking boots and Windbreakers for the rain. And we mean the canopy are going to freak out.

Clean hotel close to the Monteverde Cloud Forest, but you still need a car to get anywhere. Simple buffet breakfast included was very adequate. Wait staff very friendly and attentive! No elevators, no security, no bolt or chain on the room door gave us the creeps. The second night was so windy that the door was rattling and we had to stuff a towel against it. The bathroom had a bad, damp smell and the smooth wood floors throughout while attractive, were slippery. We were there mid-January for 2 nights. The weather when we arrived was great, but then turned wet, windy and COLD. The climate is such that AC and heat is not really needed, but a sweat shirt and raingear is helpful. Breakfast by the window would be so much nicer if they would put out just one hummingbird feeder.

The Trapp Family Lodge was a good place to sleep. THE GOOD: They are secluded from the main town so privacy is great. They also have connections with all the attractions and will help you with booking them. They also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. THE BAD: Since they are so far way from town you need a taxi or a car to get around. The security is very low, no front gate, and very little security at the room level. The walk up to the room is insane, it's a mixture of few step and very steep hills. The kitchen and the main lobby closes at 8:00pm so if you didn't eat you're SOL. They also lack an air conditioner, a mini fridge and an ice machine. There's no pool on premises and nothing to do at the lodge. Overall the staff was friendly, but the lack of amenities lowered the experience at this location. They are currently under construction so hopefully there is more to come.
