Based on the Trip Advisor reviews, we have booked online 2 nights in this hotel on a quite short notice since we wanted to spend our last 2 nights outside Cartagena, wanting to add the beach experience to our trip. After a 20+ minute drive from town, we arrived in the little village on the beach, with Kohsamui Hotel in the middle of it. Input the atmosphere was uncomfortable, as when booking by Booking. Com we paid for the green room, but when we arrived at the hotel, the owner told us there was an error on the page and that our reservation was another room completely different, much less comfortable, and although the green room was free for our entire stay, he didn't want to move us from room (in fact all the rooms were empty during our days there). The hotel itself is very rustic, 5 rooms, which have to be accessed trough a very steep stairs. The rooms are nice and simple, with only the basics, but clean. The restaurant offers delicious options and the chef and the lady who makes breakfast (who is the same waitress) are very friendly. The beach (there is no pool) consists of a little strip, right in front of the hotel, with no privacy from locals who parking their vehicles (with very loud music) right next to you… We had a nice time outside this hostel, my boyfriend and I agreed on the fact that the price/quality wasn't fair at all.

People are friendly, you can eat the typical food right there, only the sea water is not very clean.

The best option to rest.

My wife and I stayed here in 2016 for 8 days and then again just 1 week ago for 8 days. This is a very pleasant and comfortable place right on the beach. There is a restaurant on the premises which serves good food and drink. The ceviche is the best we have ever had there… and it should be since the fishermen have their nets in the sea out front. The rooms are large and comfortable. There is air conditioning and a small refrigerator. There is Wi-Fi and TV. Maria is a very welcoming host and can help you with most anything you need. The romantic city of Cartagena is a short taxi ride away. This is a perfect get away destination for sun and ocean. The water is warm and nice for swimming. Usually the breeze picks up in the afternoon to cool things down and there is a very good kitesurfing school about 250 meters down the beach. We will stay here again… you should too! :)

The hotel/hostel is actually very clean and the personnel is mostly nice. However, it is located in a village, a poor one at that, and behind the hotel there is a full on ghetto going on. Does not seem safe at all. Food here is actually very good, and that is a great thing considering you have NOWHERE to eat for 20 km.

Not for anyone wanting to be pampered by the luxury of the big city, but otherwise this is one of Cartagena's best hidden treasures. The sound of the waves lapping on the shore, amazing sunsets and sunrises, plus midnight views of the stars that will stop your heart — if you were ever looking for an experience of über-relaxation, you'll get it here. No one peddling goods on the beach, not even much in the way of civilization. Just a short drive to get into the city. Bring your bottled water.

Nearly perfect in every way. The staff is incredibly helpful, personable and trustworthy. Khosamui is separated from much (though not all) of nearby civilization, but that is its inherent charm. I stayed there with my girlfriend for three nights and would return anytime I need a beach front paradise with a staff of Maricela and Augustine helping to make every second count.
