Jing An Shangri La is a great hotel, everything is great, from staff kindness and professionalism to room and food and beverage quality. Executive lounge is impressive, wonderful staff, excellenf F&B, gorgeous view. I d like to notice the great improvement of quality of food at 1515; maybe consequence of the arrival of new chef.

Great overall service — front lobby, room service, health club & spa, and the deli on 1st floor. Great experience overall, especially for my first trip to China!

Location is good but it takes about 20 mins in taxi to get anywhere. Bad traffic can make it longer. The hotel though is really nice!

I told the House keeping lady that I don’t need turn down service the first night and it seems that she assumed I didnt need it every night. She did not show up second or third night of my stay which I was expecting. Not significant but could have been a 5 if she had come.

Simply put wonderful. of course the hotel is beautiful and well kept. But it's the management and staff that sets the hotel apart from other hotels. Marge De Leon is vigilant about making sure everyone is being taken care of, Cherry on the Horizon floor is absolutely the best, always looking after me making sure i'm happy, she's terrific. All the staff even when I left the hotel — Wanyi in the lobby was engaging and gracious, especially for her young years — most impressive. The hotel is great, but the staff made the experience memorable, thank you.

In fact, the overall is satisfactory, that is, in the last time, November 2017 late, the cushion is very dirty, the bed of the finishing is not good.
In the past year, the Horizon Club, in the afternoon and evening snack and beverage have dropped, the staff is very small, I also felt a lot of people who are very idle! There are fewer welcome guests in the lobby!

Ms. Marge, Ms. Cherry, and Mr. Tony were the most hospitable, professional and accommodating to all requests. They are truly an asset to the Shangri La Hotel in Shanghai. Will return in the future, as I am certain they will remember my name and preferences. Amazing staff should be recognized by their excellence.

Its a Beautiful new hotel, fantastic spa/gym, great breakfast. My room was somewhat ordinary and small and I would have preferred a bigger bed. It was also too warm and not resolved until day two of my stay. I had trouble sleeping in the warm room as a result. Please stop people from using their mobile phones in the spa area, I do not think it is a good practice and it violates privacy with cameras.

I have stayed here many times. This is definitely not the best experiences. Actually it is one of the worst experiences. Worst out of the worst is bell service for taxi. I tried twice, none of which works. Most ridiculously the bell service guy got the hotel address wrong so that the taxi driver went to wrong place. By the way, he is using taxi apps (DiDi? ). On the other hand, there are lots empty of taxis running around on the street. I even asked the bell boy to call taxi on the street. But he turned down my request.

Even though I had arranged hotel transportation, I wasn't met at the airport arrival area by a hotel representative and had to call the hotel to track someone down. After 20 hours of travel the one thing you want is for the transportation to the hotel to be seamless and without incident. Definitely not the case this time. When I finally arrived at the hotel, I had booked a grand premier Horizon Club room and was given what was previously a premier corner room. Apparently room categories changed after my reservation and I ended up being assigned a lesser room than I had booked. Eventually I was moved to the room type I had thought I booked, but only after 30 minutes of dithering and hand wringing by the staff. So, after not being met at the airport and then being given a lesser room than I expected, the stay did not start very well. The next morning I went to the Horizon Club for breakfast and ordered a waffle for breakfast, only to be told the waffle maker was broken. It remained broken the whole week I was there. For heaven sake, buy another waffle maker. They are very cheap. Don't offer something on your menu that you consistently can't deliver. On the plus side, the room and housekeeping was excellent. Also, the driver that took me to the airport was very helpful in retrieving my mobile phone after I had left it in the car.

Superb hotel in a convenient location. The gym was excellent and the restaurants were all great. The spa was luxurious and the lounge was decadent. Love love love. The only shortfall was the lobby which could get busy and took a long time to get to check in.

My experience started with some incidences, but they could be solved by your competent senior staff — the last days of my stay were quit pleasant. I found that starting the day with a breakfast in the 55th floor restaurant which was normally very quiet especially comfortable. Rooms were spacious and left nothing to complain about. Would be pleased to have the chance to come back soon.

Overall, I thoroughly recommend Shangri-la Jing'an, as it's the best hotel in Shanghai, located at the heart of the city. Every time when I come back to Shanghai from UK, we always choose this hotel! This stay was particularly amazing! We've attended the new year party at 1515 West, and the vibrant atmosphere really smoothed our transition from 2017 to 2018! Additionally, I would like to mention 1 great member of staff, called Tony Wang from the Horizon Club! He was absolutely stunning in terms of service, daily attitudes etc. Every morning, he would come to us with a great smile to start us off with our normal drinks. He pays close attention to details, and is especially good with communicating. He is the one staff which really stood out from the rest, and he has added colour to the whole horizon club and I would say from several long stays before, he is really the best staff! Thank you for a pleasant stay, see you in the summer!

We understand the hotel is very busy. But because we are the Jade Member, we even have to wait to check in when we arrive at 5:00pm waiting for the room. Further, house keeping came in suddenly which I only experienced in this hotel. Hotel has been nice to offered for extra amenity which we can go to the lounge for such convenience. However, the room has always been great and comfortable. The bed is really nice. We understand the whole issues are due too many people for the holiday season. But we should address it for further training and education.

Actually the best luxury hotel in Shanghai! Rooms very clean and cozy — hard to get up from the bed as it is so comfortable! Love the bar and the restaurants — especially afternoon tea is typical chinese way!

Not cheap, but top level. Price indication… 1500€/7days, with no happy ending. For this U pay 2000€ extra.

Attended a conference here. Nice place to stay. Try to get a room with a view of The Bund. Don't leave electrical cords out. They will curl them up.

Overlooking the beauty of Jing An district, definitely can feel the moderness of New Shanghai. Highly recommend 1515 bar, ambience atmosphere bring you back to chill out at the old Shanghai.

Very nice hotel — good facilities and excellent gym and pool. The rooms are a reasonable standard for a 5 star hotel. However the veneer is somewhat taken off the hotel as the guests behave in an extremely uncourteous way to both staff and other guests. While this is not remarkable in most of China it is unusual and uncomfortable in a hotel of this standard…

Hotel location is very good, living in 54, morning sunshine along with the beauty of magic, thank Assistant front office manager arrangements, to allow a husband to have a nice birthday commemoration, front desk check-in was efficient, restaurant service very friendly, room Ou Shudan amenities very good. Wi-Fi is going really well, it's OK.

Amazing beds, so comfortable. The rooms are extremely quiet which makes sleeping so easy. Beautiful view and a great steakhouse in the hotel. Room service is just ok though. The hotel is very centrally located.
