Yesinn - Fortress Hill Hotel

Nice staff, but small no communal room, and just no space to turn around — even worse with a big bag! Small bathroom, no tea just bad coffee powder, I dont recommend the level 15 … Maybe the other levels… Like the street around but if you can speak chinese try Jordan area!

Yessin was fine and its also near the nearest mtr station. Tho our bathroom smells like smoke, maybe from the air that the exhaust gets. The walls for the hallway and the rooms were kind of thin, I had a bad experience of having another customer shout at us for always going out and in talking. We were given 2 gate passes. Our room kind-of being cleaned and check by the admin, whenever we were not there. There are many nearby establishments and its nice to get lost at night.

Pros: It's cheap and close to the MTR Cons: Small beds, no breakfast or room to chill. Beds and rooms incl. Bathrooms are small. I wanted to give 3 stars but all of the employees are not welcoming nor friendly. I stayed in about 15 hostels this year (Europe and Asia) and never happened before! I booked in advanced for 5 nights otherwise I would have go to another Hostel the next day. I wouldn't go here again but if you're looking for a cheap place "why not".

Not bad… but could be better. Clean and tidy. Small rooms. I had some window but with no light coming in at all. No towels. No atmosphere. Walking distance to the subway.

For the price it has and the area in which it is located is more than acceptable, clean but very small.

Good location for shoppers as it's very close to shopping malls. Also MTR and bus station are near. Rooms are clean, big enough and fully equipped with an air con, a fan, an own locker, a head lamp and plugs. Price is reasonable, good place for backpackers. Massage chair in lobby room is very nice!

Not bad, I enjoyed my stay. Friendly service and nice amenities for the price. Overall great! They keep the hostel bathrooms clean as well as everything else in working order. Shared fridge and microwave are offered and at 45 dollars for two nights really you can't beat that! Most guests are kind, some can be a bit hard to communicate with, but great!

In my quest to locate a decent hostel in Hong Kong, I found that I had to keep lowering my standards. I came to understand quite quickly that the accommodations nowhere would be cheap or spacious. After several stays at other hostels, I felt that I had to put up with levels of sketchiness higher than I would want. Not only that, but it seemed like most hostels were not only sketchy but not legal. Then I found Yesinn — an oasis of decency and comfort in a quagmire of subpar hostels. Sure, Yesinn is constrained by the same facts life in urban Hong Kong. As such, it's not particularly spacious nor is do the accommodations receive much in the way of natural lighting or airflow. But the place is clean, the walls of the rooms don't feel like they are closing in on you, the staff friendly, and the establishment is licensed! I have stayed at both of Yesinn's Hong Kong Island locations and the ammenities seem to be on par with each other. Causeway Bay is a little closer to the nightlife you'll find in Wan Chai, LKF, or Soho. But don't be discouraged by the Fortress Hill location. On a map, Yesinn at Fortress Hill may look like it's a ways away from the action of Hong Kong but don't let the map fool you. You've got subways and ding-dings to get you there during the day and once those cease operation for the night, taxis really are not that expensive (as long as you're coming from Hong Kong Island) and, if money is really tight, you can still take a bus.

The receptionist was rude, she wanted to dump us fast without explaining hot water, internet/door password, the furniture was broken (chair), pillows are too shallow, soap and shampoo (promised) were not in the room on arrival. Toilet was very dirty (fungus on curtain, hair of previous guest all over!, it doesnt have hot water, even turning on the heater for 3 hours! please check before unpacking! ). The floor was very very dirty. On arrival, there was still the remaining trash of the previous guest on the shower, like soap and empty shampoo bottles (disgusting).

The perfect place to work and have fun.

Its a nice place to stay. The room is clean, the Wi-Fi is really fast and they're really helpfull. I totally will stay in there again if I had chance to go to hk again. Oh, also the location of yesinn is near to many restaurant like yoshinoya, mcdonalds, subway and starbucks. Totally recommend this place to stay if you're budget traveler.
