1ST Homestay - HK Tai Wan Hostel Hostel

At first my room was literally a bed room. It doesn't even have enough space to fit my luggage. I asked them to upgrade my room and they offered me the best room they had for more money. At first, the new room seemed OK till the next morning that I woke up with 5 cockroaches on my bed. I realized the room is full of cockroaches. I asked the staff to do something about that and all they did was giving me a insecticide spray! I asked them to refund me since I didn't want to stay there any more but they denied. The other issue with the room was hot water. There was a specific time for hot water supply and the water became could after 5 min of shower. The bathtub had no curtain and the toilet was wet after the shower. Since it was humid, I always had a wet toilet. In sum, it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I don't advice you to go there.

Aweful hostel, just don't try it. Even for a Cheap hostel, the service is unacceptable! The blanket is thin like paper, the pillow, well it's thin like a tower. Ask for a real blanket? They refuse to give you one. Or even to give you a second thin one. (never saw that in my whole life…) Checkout at 12:30 instead of 11:30? You have to pay for one more day, no matter what you say. The personnel is very rude, and won't make any efforts to ease your journey. The only good point is they always have avaible rooms, because basically nobody wants to go there. Run away my friends, go to Days and Nights inn (or any other inn around basically) if they still have rooms.

Complete hell hole. Place is filthy, room is tiny and building is filled with the scum of the Earth. Had a double room booked for us by a friend and needless to say, I don't even want to speak to her again after staying here for two nights. The room is tiny and filthy. There are roaches and flies everywhere. Stayed on the 11th floor area of the hotel where they were doing construction, which caused particles and dirty to fill up the hall ways and come under the door. Workers were using our private washroom when we were out of the room. Would not leave any remotely valuable items in the room. Renovations were loud and at all hours of the day. Washroom was tiny and disgusting. The shower was right over the toilet, so you mind as well sit on the toilet while showering. It was like showering in prison except there isn't enough room to get violated, but you'd still leave feeling dirty. Pictures the owner has posted are a complete lie. Don't even expect to get anything remotely close to that. As for the staff, the woman was extremely rude and unhelpful. Did not even speak Cantonese and forced you to understand her Mandarin. God forbid she learn Cantonese when living and Hong Kong and I guess she was too good to speak English to us as well. The whole Chung King Mansion is filled with low lives and just horrible human beings who harass you non stop.
