We have stayed at the Humboldt Canalta several times since they opened. As usual the staff is pleasant and the rooms are clean. We noticed the beds are showing their age and likely need to be replaced. The hall door needed some small repair. It was evident that the problem has been there for some time. I mentioned it as we checked out and she knew about the issue. Everything else worked just fine.

I thoroughly enjoyed my four nights at the Canalta in Humboldt, Canada. The staff members were all very helpful. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was outstanding. The pool and water slide areas were also well maintained. If I am ever in Humboldt again, I will definitely stay there.

Rooms were very nice. Pool was fun! Continental breakfast was large and good.

I enjoyed the room and the pool area was very nice. Great parking and having the Co-op behind was handy. I missed out on the popcorn as there wasn't any when I checked a few times. Other than that, it was good.

The hotel is pretty good but when we checked in at 5 PM and was sent to our room it had not been made up. We called down to tell them and she asked us if we could wait 10 mins. Our reply was NO. We had driven all day and you would think by 5 PM the rooms would be made up. I do have to say they have very nice bedding and pillows. The free b reakfast was very good as well.

Awesome place bed rooms with 3 beds hot tub swimming pool great place to spend the night after a long days work.

Very fancy looking hotel. Looks sharp and would go back again. The breakfast was very good. I don't have any complaints for this place.

I was impressed during my stay. I was welcomed as if I was family. I felt very at home.

Great location off the highway, clean and spacious, comfortable bed, great breakfast in the morning. Will definitely stay there again.

Very nice hotel. Complimentary breakfast was good. (Toast, bagels waffles, cereal, and eggs and sausage) Room was clean but they forgot to clean inside one of the cupboards and there was chips in it.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

We attended a family wedding and check in was very easy, rooms were very clean and spacious. Bed, linens and pillows were excellent (not to hard not too soft! ) even my husband agreed! We did not have a chance to enjoy the breakfast but dining area looked very spacious and welcoming. We have stayed in other Canalta hotels before but this was a first for Humboldt and if need, would stay again.

We were in town for a funeral and found the staff super nice. Rooms were clean and bathroom was clean and shiny. Great stay!

We paid nearly $200 for a one night stay, including taxes and fees, at the end of November 2017. We stayed here because it's the only option in this small town. Major hotel chains charge less for 5 star accommodations in Toronto or Vancouver!

Beautiful hotel, rooms are awesome. Staff are very helpful and professional. Never used the pool but sure looked nice. Plug ins for every vehicle is gratefully appreciated.

Stayed here December 23 through December 26. No room service was provided—no cleaning of the room. The hotel gave letters to guests stating “room attendants have the 24 and 25th of December off. If you require any amenities please let our front desk know and they will be happy to assist! ” Well that is fine I do not need my bed made or garbage taken out. However “happy to assist” was certainly not the case! We needed some clean towels. So I called the front desk to bring some up to us. The response from the woman attending the front desk was “ you have to come to the front desk. “ I replied “ I am calling the front desk. I would like some clean towels sent to our room. “ after some back and forth and not understanding why she cannot have towels sent up to our room I said to her “ I am a guest of the hotel and I would like towels sent up. “ she said should would. An hour later I had to call front desk again. The same woman answered with exasperation. And said she was on her way and that I did not have to call. Well when she arrived st the door with towels she gave us, the guests, heck because she had to bring up towels. She told me that I should have went downstairs to the front desk and picked them up ourselves. I told her that she should never tell guests to go and pick up towels themselves from the front desk —that is not customer service. She had the audacity to say while she was leaving that my comment was abusive! Ridiculous!

Stayed here December 23-26, 2017. The worst service I have ever encountered. The front desk would not bring towels to our room. The front desk would not bring toilet paper to our room. The front desk attendant had an attitude. No understanding of customer service at all. She was absolutely rude to us. I’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and have never encountered this awful service anywhere. I’ve stayed at this hotel seven or eight times before. This was the worst. Extremely unimpressed.

Very nice and clean hotel. Breakfast area is a good size. Pool and sauna with a water slide aswell. Fitness room available 24/7. Rooms are a great size. Only issue is Wi-Fi is not very good. Overall best option in humboldt.

We stayed at the Canalta Hotel in Humboldt September 2017 and found it to be clean with friendly staff. The room was very comfortable and the hotel was quiet. I found it a little expensive considering it's in Humbolt (paid less for hotels in Edmonton of the same quality) but besides that it is excellent.

Excellent hotel. Clean, comfortable, and well priced. Lots of amenities such as pool, hot tub, gym, included breakfast. Highly recommended if you're going to be staying overnight in Humboldt. Location is great as it's right across from Quill Centre that has a Tim Hortons and a Boston Pizza.

Mattresses are awesome… most amazing sleep and quite quiet. Also enjoyed the breakfast they provided. Very comfy and definitely would stay there again.

Always great. Nice big clean rooms, good continental breakfast and the kids love the pool. We've been coming here since it opened when we come to Humboldt.

Fairly clean, when I arrived and inspected my room found that one of the queen beds had a spot of blood on the sheet and bit of blood on a pillow case. Other than that it's been OK the pool is probably the best part as there is a pretty big water slide. The hotel Wi-Fi is spotty at best.

Good breakfasts and nice rooms. The only issue is internet, which is not stable at all. It drops regularly, so it's impossible to do anything in internet, maybe just checking e-mails or browsing web-sites. P. S. I had to retype this review, because it dropped again… egh…

Stayed here for work for 3 days, much better than the other two hotels I've been to in Humboldt. Stayed on the top floor, where the room feels really spacious, it was clean and well lit, with good AC. Breakfast is standard continental fare, with a few nice additions. My only qualm with the hotel was the internet, I kept getting randomly disconnected, even over the direct line to my laptop. Still a nice hotel and would definitely recommend :D.

Good location for my work needs. Excellent breakfast. They call it a Continental Breakfast, but I would call it a "Hot bfast" cause they serve omletts and sausage patties, waffles and much more. Room was very good for the price.

Great location, just at the edge of town and really close to Co-op grocery store. Rooms are great, very clean. Really good breakfast. Free popcorn in the evening! Really great service as far as check in and check out!

Clean, quiet, professional. Prices lower than larger cities. Pool waterslide is fun and fast.

Don't stay here unless you have to. Canalta is way overpriced for what you get. $150 a night is a horrible price. I've stayed in New York for cheaper. Your room cards work 37% of the time, and don't work on the outside doors. Their "Free breakfast" is sub par. I've seen rations that were more appealing. Walls are so thin you can cut an apple with them. The room is always so cold in winter, hot in summer. Their Wi-Fi is horrendous, and that is if you can even connect to their "Ethostream" service. They used to have complementary cookies at the front desk but I guess they couldn't afford to give them out anymore, so enjoy overpriced snacks like $5 small bags of peanut m&m's. They have my information "on file" but for some reason I always need to give them my full information. Drive to Saskatoon, and save $40 — $60. If I could give this place a half star I would.

Decent hotel, decent rates, decent breakfast.

I stayed at Canalta in Humboldt the staff was fast and friendly. I got to choose which floor I stayed on and what side of the hotel. The room was clean and modern. My favorite thing about staying there was the free evening popcorn and the breakfast in the morning.

The room was very clean and quite. The receptionist was very friendly. Canalta hotel is the best hotel in Humboldt.

We won't be there until tomorrow night… but I already know its a 5 stars. Always is. SUPER comfortable. Most incredible breakfeast there is! Most of the times we've stayed there for work there was a dinner served for a customer appreciation night here and there. I can't say enough about this hotel chain. You never have to worry about what your hotel is going to be like after a long day at work on the road. Guaranteed comfort is worth the money.

Beautiful hotel, but they are very dishonest with their billing! They tell you one number for a room rate, and then add a DMF fee of 3% to the room rate just because. I called and it took the manager to explain that its not a tax in fact they charge GST and PST on top of the "DMF". She explained that the money collected goes into a Destination Marketing account that is used to market the hotel, and for sponsorships within the community. In my mind this should be included in the room rate! Especially when you're comparing the rate to other hotels in town like the Bella Vista which do not put random fees on top of the room rate. Not a huge deal but all the lights were out in the parking lot the night I was there, and the block heater plug ins didn't work either at — 35 celcius.
