We have enjoyed many meals at this wonderful restaurant and have never been disappointed. In fact we find ourselves raving about the food, the knowledgeable staff and the atmosphere. This is a truly exceptional restaurant.

The takeout experience was wonderful. The food was ready moments after I arrived to pick it up. Everyone wad masked, and it felt very safe.
Arrived home to set the table and do the last minute warming (I opted for the “ready to prepare” menu items… sou vide pouches required reheating in boiling water from 5-8 minutes, potatoes reheated in the oven in 15 minutes, and the sauce 30 sec in microwave… all were delicious perfectly cooked, and plated attractively. Restaurant Bonaparte even provided a dinner candle and downloadable music. I strongly suggest you place a takeout order ADAP!

Such an elegant dining experience, the special menu & wine pairing was amazing! Delicious flavours so beautifully presented by our very knowledgeable server. We will return whenever we come to Montreal again!

Very nice fine dining establishment with outstanding service, nice atmosphere and prices to match. I wasn’t a fan of their take on French onion soup and the filet was a bit underwhelming but the tasting menu (rabbit followed by steak) was a hit with my partner.

Excellent place for a night out with the loved one! Wouldn't bring any children here although why not? Can be pricey when it comes to the menu bit completely worth it! I do not think I have ever eaten in a restaurant with better service, respective, quite, calm environment, I highly recommend everyone should eat here once! French cuisine with excellent choices or food and desserts and especially wines! I recommend 100%

A very quaint restaurant in a very quaint part of the Old Port. You'll immediately notice the classy decor and attentive staff. We were served by an extremely polite gentleman who got us everything we needed and then some. I must stress it was the great service that put this review from 4 to 5 stars. Menu had a lot of good choices and the food was delicious. However, it didn't feel like there was uniqueness to the food. You see chicken with brie, beef tartar, and french onion soup in many restaurants, upscale or not. Bonaparte would definitely benefit from differentiating itself from the rest. It already has a huge headstart with its staff. I would definitely come back here one day soon.

One of the best restaurants in Montreal. It is high quality of dishes and reasonable price setting. Food was delicious, wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Food did not generate a wow delicious factor for me. I think some of the reviews may be exaggerated. However, I do believe we all have different eating experiences. My husband enjoyed the food more than I did.

Took my fiance there and it didn't disappoint. Relaxing atmosphere and great tasting French food! Worth the money.

We enjoyed the MTL menu at the table which is really interesting, we had 4 services (instead of 3 usually for MTL at table).
The products are fresh and quality, the cooking is successful. The service is nice. The smoked salmon in the entrance was really excellent.
The cocktails are good and well dosed.

5 Stars for a 5 Star French Restaurant with a 5 Star price point. If you need a fancy dinner with a gorgeous tastings menu, then Bonaparte is a shoe-in as one of the best places to dine at in Montreal. No strict dress code but don't wear shorts and sandals, even if you can bear it in this winter city. The variety in the tastings menu makes your dining experience unique with a up to 3 different choices on various courses. The wine selection is grand as expected and the restaurant is pristine. Highly recommended if you can foot the bill.

Great experience, fast, knowledgeable service. Very busy so you can tell the quality of food is good and in demand. Atmosphere was excellent, table spacing perfect for intimate dates or large groups. I will return to this restaurant next time I visit Montreal.

We had the tasting menu and everything was absolutely amazing. Well worth every penny. The service, quality and flavors were so on point that I think it's the best restaurant I've ever been to. I definitely recommend it and will definitely go back.

Excellent French cuisine. I don't know much about French food but felt comfortable trusting the bartenders recommendations. Savory flavors with compatible wine choices. Tasting menu was perfectly portioned leading to an ambitious culinary adventure.

Warm and charming ambiance, very accommodating and friendly service, great food. We ate there three times over the past two years. The quality and service stayed consistently very good.

The hostel is beautiful. The waitress knows the wine Charter well and she says what she's talking about. A chic atmosphere, incredible service and a tasty meal. Don't hesitate, you're going to have a great time in this restaurant.

Great service and nice decor. Food was all around very good, but not necessarily exceptional. Relatively under-seasoned.

The lobster bisque and rabbit were pretty good. However the steak were pretty dry, just average. The chocolate mousse dessert was so-so as well.

It was perfect! The service is impeccable, the atmosphere very quiet to be at its ease. The food was excellent too. An experience to live!

This restaurant deserves easily 6 stars and more! I have rarely received such a good service in my entire life in a restaurant… Impeccable service from start to finish. The atmosphere is more than perfect, and the food was a delight for all the different services! I could not say, it was divain… A first time, and certainly not a last one. Titanic thanks to the whole team!

Everything was nice (drinks, server/staff, decor etc) except the food. Maybe my expectations were too high for the chef's menu (it's after all ranked in the city) or maybe the restaurant was busy with the mtl a table event menu and neglected chef's tasting menu, I don't know. I found the plating was very average, taste was average, meat wasn't marinated well (but still soft which is good). It's not a bad meal, but I was looking for more flavours, more creativity for the price we paid. I almost wish we ordered the set menu for Mtl a Table instead of the tasting menu.

Well, two ways to look at it. We went as part of MTLaTable, which means an entire meal was 41$ for 4 courses (per person). In this case, the price was pretty much worth it — nice high quality food, and you definitely are not hungry after the meal. However, normal price? I'd never go. Food is very unexciting and mundane, with different dishes coming in with almost same plating, and same sauces. Quality of foods is good, quality of service is magnificent, but the food itself is just not worth it IMHO.

A white cloth dining experience with a French feel on the North American continent, at a reasonable price even compared to other non white cloth restaurants in the area. I enjoyed all the food, though I was not a fan of the truffle oil added to the sauce with the chicken dish. The creme brûlée was amazing, cold vanilla bean center and a perfectly dissolved hard sugar candied top. Still the service was amazing, the seating was fabulous in the front window overlooking a cobblestone street with the occasional horse and carriage. The decor was clean, suiting for the occasion and lighting was dimmed to set the mood. I would have dined here every night had I not been curious to see what else Old Montreal had to offer.

Triple A restaurant! Amazing food, Amazing place (classic and romantic), Amazing service. We order the set menu at the last page of the menu. Worth every single dim of my money.

We really liked it quite a bit. Went there for lunch and had chicken in brie sauce and pork medallions in mustard sauce. Both dishes were fantastic. Service was great. Really glad we made this a lunch option.

Reservation arranged by friend who speaks French, so things go smoothly. Staff in fact also speak English. Very good atmosphere, classic French dishes, good wine, and hearty service. Impressive dining experience in French restaurant, eating slowly while sharing ideas with friends, this place surely warrants high recommendation.

Amazing restaurant. The service was excellent and so was the food. I came here with my girlfriend and even though we were on a budget, their set menus had something to offer for us. And if you're ready to treat yourself and go all out… please tell me how it is.

Found this place as recommended by local tour bus driver. Was hesitant but decided to go ahead and stop by. I have to say that this was the best meal I have ever had. Period. I would have given 6 stars if I could. My fussy taste has been fully satisfied. Simply beautiful salmon patte, goat cheese and chicken. Beautiful dessert. Excellent service. Perfect for a romantic dinner. I recommend booking in advance as this is a popular venue.

Do not stay in room 508 or 509. Both rooms are connected to each other via air conditioning duct and even the slightest noise made in the room can be heard in the other one. The hotel knows about it and admits to it when confronted but wouldn't do anything to fix the issue or move the customer to another room. Would not stay here again period.

We have completely changed our opinion about this hotel. We've got a room that was pretty noisy and the staff was unwilling to switch us to another room. Not just that, they lied that no one will be living in the room next door only to move somebody in there and hour later. When confronted about it, they offered us 10% off. We will not be coming back.

Lovely small hotel. The staff are always helpful and have a smile for this tourists. The attached restaurant have very good breakfasts.

Great location, not so expensive, nice rooms & restaurant with good wine selection. Unfortunately I was living here during some re-construction of the lobby, but still would recommend for people who are traveling to Montreal.

Food great. Staff lovely, fun and helpful. The accommodations are wonderful for the price, can't best the location. Great area to eat, learn, shop, etc. I've gone in the summer and the winter, I will certainly stay here any chance I get.

Very romantic inn deep in the heart of Old Montreal. Only a 2 minute walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral, restaurants. Rooms are nicely furnished and reasonably spacious for an older property. Our room was equipped with a large 2-person Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Downstairs restaurant has an intimate atmosphere and is busy at night, and serves a nice breakfast for hotel guests in the morning. Drawbacks: Rooms missing robes and a coffee/tea maker. Also, noise from the street late into the night can be a problem — appears even numbered rooms face the street (402, 404, etc), so perhaps request an odd numbered one (401, 403 etc). Parking is up the street at an outdoor parking lot.

Had 5-course set + wine for a 12 pers. Group; lasted for about 3 hours with plenty time to discuss business and food. Paid $80 per pers. Incl. Taxes and gratuites. Decentand minimalistic decor, dim lights with a fireplace aside. Would definately recommend this one for a business event (though family w/o kids event might also fit into well).

Not a terrible choice for our first night in Old Montreal. While the menu is extensive, the food and service is good, and the wine list is extensive, we found the place somewhat of a tourist trap. Other meals we enjoyed while in town were better, and more reasonably priced.

Simply the BEST! Great service anticipated throughout the restaurant.
