Terrific breakfast! I had the The Drake Breakfast which comes with awesome baked beans. It also comes with a light salad which is very uncommon for breakfast, but it worked and was delicious.

Nice staff; great location; nostalgic place.

First experience at drake hotel, we were there to see a show at the underground cam cole was amazing…BEST SHOW EVER! What also made our visit at this hotel was This amazing gentleman mike! He was security at the front desk! Absolutely amazing service with any questions or navigation we needed! Especially Making our experience memorable with the photo booth! Thanks mike! And staff that helped with cam being a sold out show! Definitely be back!

The hotel is located in a trendy and interesting neighborhood. The new part is very modern and while rooms are small it is fine for a short stay. The breakfast was great and we also enjoyed the rooftop bar. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Toronto, ON, Canada. 🥰🥰

The Drake Hotel made the last part of my fiancé’s bday come magical! Smaller rooms but very neatly set out in a way it was very surprising and gave us ideas even for our home. The best part of this experience was definitely the staff. They were absolutely phenomenal! Honestly probably or if the best I’ve seen ever. I don’t know if drake has anything to do with the hiring but whom ever is behind it does their job right in finding the right people. Today we even visited drakes store in the eaton centre and it was the same thing. These people have class and that to me is huge. One of the coolest and best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. My wife and I stayed here the last night of our honeymoon after a long flight to Toronto from Croatia. It was an amazing experience, I wish we could’ve stayed longer!

It a new experience and it's in the a very well diverse area of Toronto. It's very big and there is alot of choices, you can dance or just hangout.

Booked a table trough Open Table and on the notes I specifically mentioned I wanted the rooftop because It was a special ocasion. Although the booking was made 10 days in advance, nobody contacted me. When I got to the restaurant, they said the rooftop was booked for a private event. I felt really bad as I had planned a special evening in advance. They just offered the patio, but it was not what I was expecting. Very unhappy with the service in general.

I haven't stayed at the hotel however, on Friday and Saturday nights I have been here for the night life. Great atmosphere. Music is great! Can get really crowded on the main floor. There is a rooftop patio, a main floor and a basement which is under constriction at the moment.

Trendy, fun, cool designs, gorgeous patio with a view (although uncomfortable seats) but it's so busy with so many people standing at the upstairs bar that it's hard to grab a seat, or even to use a washroom — it is just too long. The downstairs can be reserved. Food and service is classy and friendly. Really nice atmosphere.

The basement performing space is decorated in a somewhat eclectic but very cool way. Unfortunately there are a lot of steps, so it's not very accessible. I've only really seen that part, but the staff are very professional and helpful, so my guess is the rest of The Drake is just as terrific!

Drinks on the rooftop bar are a perfect way to start the night on a warm summer day. The light breeze cuts through to cool things off and sets a mood for their house stone fruit sangria which is well balanced, not too sweet and with just the right amount of tang. This is a great spot of appetizers and drinks before a night out or dinner.

Beautiful atmosphere, both downstairs and on the patio. However there seems to be some lack of communication with front desk about events happening. I called earlier in the day hoping to reserve a spot on the rooftop patio. They told me that a reservation wasn’t needed and that I could just come in. I asked if it was typically busy on a day like today and they said it depends. When I arrived with my guests, I was told that the upstairs was closed due to a private event. I told them that nobody informed me about this over the phone. However they told us we could grab a seat at the restaurant portion of the Drake Hotel and that the rooftop would be open at 9 PM. When 9 PM rolled around, nothing happened. We wanted to go to the bar on the other portion of The Drake however when we walked in, the hostess was nowhere to be found. We asked to be seated toward the back and were told that it wasn’t open. However 15 minutes later, they opened it and people were sitting but they failed to inform us that it was available. I think this place needs more staff.

My daughter and son in law were married at the Drake last weekend. The staff, food and venue were amaze. They went above and beyond to make the day fantastic. Super impressed with everything!

The drake is hands down the best hotel I have ever stayed in. My husband and I have been going for weekend getaways for the past 6 years. The customer service is BEYOND impeccable and every interaction with drake staff has exceeded our expectations. They are so personable there, that once then manager caught wind that my husband (who was my boyfriend at the time) was going to propose to me at the drake, they left a bottle of wine in the room and included complimentary champagne. The small gesture made our moment even more personalized. Our most recent visit to the drake (our honeymoon) was even more incredible, when the drake staff provided the same bottle of wine upon arrival in our room! Aside from the PHENOMENAL staff at the drake, it is easily the most artistic and one-of-a-kind atmospheres I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. The quality, originality, and design have never been beat by any other hotel I have ever stayed in. My husband and I will continue to visit the drake every year for our annual trip. It CANNOT be beat!

Went for brunch of Saturday morning, had a reservation but wouldn't have had an issue getting a table at 1030am in the dining room. Despite the heat warning, there were a lot of people sitting on the patio. Server was very warm and hospital and provided prompt service. Food came at a reasonable time and was pretty good, although nothing masterful. Its standard brunch fare found at any other Toronto downtown restaurant. 4/5 because the price of brunch is typical Toronto bs.

We loved The Drake so much on our last visit to Toronto 3 years ago we had to come back. It was a beautiful day so we just had drinks on the patio. This is a great neighbourhood to explore and we loved people watching and enjoying our drinks in the sun. This is such a cool place to check out during your holiday. Highly recommended.

The Drake Hotel for a hotel stay is great. The rooms are incredibly unique. The beds are comfy. The bathroom fixtures were clean and fairly modern. The brunch downstairs was great, especially the Drake Benny. The only thing to note is that there's only 2 private parking spots for the hotel if you have a vehicle.

Went to the Drake Hotel for an early dinner this past weekend. They only had a "snack menu" available at that time and we considered leaving but once we saw the menu and all the delicious options we stayed. We were extremely pleased with all the delicious food we received. The staff were polite and knowledgeable and very cautious with my partners food allergy. Can't wait to go back.

Drake provides an edgy atmosphere. The restaurant has great service and has with vegan options. I loved the Avocado toast with a touch of spice. Their tuna salad is also delicious. I wouldn't recommend getting a coffee, instead get a cappuccino since the price is the same.

Attended a function at the hotel. Location is easy to get to. Service was excellent and the food served was spectacular. This is my second professional event at the Drake and was not disappointed. Would definitely return. Meeting room was comfortable and large.

I stopped in for drinks before a wedding that was taking place nearby. We were treated really well. The food and drinks we had were delicious. The people we dealt with were very friendly and I really enjoyed my time here. I could see why the Drake Hotel has such a good reputation.

We had a wonderful lunch at the Drake yesterday. Great table by the window so we could watch the street. Sandra our server was amazing! Very friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic! I really enjoyed my smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers on a bagel. The egg's Benni looked delicious and the chicken and waffles were very impressive. We will definitely be returning!

We came here with 20 of our friends and family for a birthday event. We were all inside by 1130pm latest, as the manager requested. Half an hour later, 3 of us went for a smoke at their only smoking section (outside their entrance). Unfortunately, they decided to profile and discriminate against 2 of my friends claiming that they were drinking too much (who have never drank alcohol ever) and now cannot re-enter. It was obvious that because of their sudden lineup they wanted to maximize their profits and kick out the first person how did not fit their profiling standard. Long story short, if you have a large group, do not chose this place as an event location as there is a high chance that anyone can be kicked out. Will never recommend or bring a group her again. Ruined our night and my credibility. Worst night in Toronto ever.

Had an amazing experience celebrating a birthday at the drake! Great hotel for a young couple or a girls night! They upgraded our room and sent us complimentary champagne. The rooms are artsy and cozy and have wonderful amenities. The hotel truly has that cool vibe of Queen West and an awesome atmosphere.

Awesome little venue on Queen West. Saw L. A. Salami and Cat Clyde, two pretty different sounds executed with perfect acoustics on the same night. I would consider the spot to be intimate, at any time you're no further than 20 feet from the stage. Tables with booths line one side-with s full bar in the back, and easily accessible washrooms on the same floor. Definitely looking forward to my next show there. Could improve the location of the merch stand…

I have been here a couple of times in the restaurant which turns into nightclub, good atmosphere, nice staff, affordable cover, three levels with different music in general Top 40 and guest Djs, they have variety of drinks and the prices are average. People are varied but mostly 25 +. It is a good option to go out dancing with friends and see what happens.

A multi use space can really vary your experience. The upstairs patio is often crowded and service is poor. The patio on the street cafe is a decent brunch spot and the main dining room is good and features seasonal dishes. The basement is a great intimate concert venue. The rooms are tiny but functional. Depending what you are there for will vary your experience. I would not recommend the rooftop. The drake is an institution but not always frequented by the actual locals.

Service was friendly and accomodating, and the food was fantastic.

I had a lovely meal and coffee with a friend at the cafe. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable. We felt very attended to and comfortable. The space is bright and filled with natural light. It was perfect for a sunny day lunch.

Not my favourite place. But do able if you just want the odd hang out. I once paid 40$ for a pitcher of sangria which I thought was mostly water. I’ve not eaten there in a while but when I did it was pretty good. That’s what all the stars are for!

The restaurant is amazing. The food was delicious and the waiter was really friendly. There was a great selection for the weekend brunch section. The atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful. It is definitely worth the drive.

Visited for a concert at the Drake Underground. Bartenders were friendly and efficient. Drinks prices were on par with most other venues in the neighborhood. House DJ following the concert was decent but not especially remarkable. Careful when taking transit as nearby stops are inaccurately labelled in Google Maps. Line ups to get in and for coat check formed about 11pm, well after the concert ended, so is decently popular as a venue in its own right.

Had to stay for a work event, this space was small but really nice attention to detail and service. Nice having a real restaurant and bar on site with good entertainment. Small warning, for busy nights you can hear it from the rooms. Lots of in suite items to keep you on the go! Recommend if your out on the night or just need a get away! Summer roof top is the best!

3 levels of awesomeness. You have the patio feel at the very top, you then have the restaurant/booth feel in the middle and the dive bar feel in the basement. Best part is you can switch between all of them at your leisure. Bar staff and waiters are great they go the extra mile for you. Lastly their menu is extensive when it comes to alcohol.

Funky little place. The room had everything you need, including Bose portable speakers, a good workstation, etc. They left the most delicious cookies every night! The shower did make a mess every time I turned it on, leaving water everywhere. The cherry on the cake was one of their staff members, Jean-Paul. So attentive! If they were all like him, would definitely be 5 stars.

Came here for a club night. Older crowd (men +25). Multiple floors with different music and vibe in each. Top floor was better for talking, ground floor for oldies dancing, and a dark basement. Can get super packed on the ground floor given the restaurant layout. Fun experience overall.

Trendy bar. Beer selection on tap could be more crafty for my taste. Cocktails are great, so are the bartenders. Maybe I'm getting too old but I didn't care much for the late night DJs music selection on a Saturday.

Very nice hotel. I think the building is beautiful in it's age. The staff are attentive and friendly. The menu has some nice choices, but it is not a budget place to go to. Back to the building, I am impressed with the old ways things were built and this gives a lot of character to the Drake.

While the hotel itself lived up to the majority of the hype, there were a number of minor niggles that edged that 5/5 rating just out of reach. However, that aside, the hotel itself oozes character, with the vibrant and bustling atmosphere, through to the quirky interior and staff. From the moment you step foot through the door at The Drake Hotel, you know you're in for a treat. That being said, there were a handful of instances that put a minor dampener on our stay (although happy to be corrected). Firstly, I couldn't see, nor was I told of any additional holding fee/deposit being taken in place of potential damage or room charges, as such, this was only discovered upon notification from bank. There were also a handful of issues with the room itself such as the shower seal causing water to flow on to the carpet, our cable TV signal being intermittent (although promptly resolved by staff upon informing front desk), the USB bedside ports not charging etc. All in all, we both really enjoyed our stay at The Drake Hotel, and despite he aforementioned, we will most definitely be returning.

Rooftop/Restaurant: There was one staff member who was kind and helpful — a bartender on the rooftop. I'll preface this by saying we dined on Thanksgiving, but while I understood not wanting to work on a holiday the staff were rude to us throughout the experience. I've worked in the restaurant industry most of my adult life. As we ordered, asked where the washroom was, tried to be seated and later collect our check, the staff acted as though we were inconveniencing them by dining there. The host especially was flippant and unfriendly. We had to wait almost twenty minutes for a check with our server nowhere in sight (this is after we asked other staff members for our check, she was the only one able to get it for us). When leaving the restaurant and passing the host stand, not one of the four staff standing there event said "thanks! " — it was pretty unreal. On top of that, the prices were quite high. I have never rated a place with one star, but this spot deserves it. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Very relaxed, trendy vibe here. Had their maple version of an old fashioned and would definitely recommend! Mostly couples and small groups on a weeknight. No problem getting seated, and I felt for the ambiance/location, prices were reasonable. Space heaters helped as the sun went down! Only suggestion — large ice cube would help maintain the integrity of the drink for longer.

Almost 3 different bars in one. Top floor is a roof top bar and lounge. Main floor is a restaurant that turns into a dance floor and DJ. Then the basement usually has live show on most occasions. Tends to get a little rowdy and the line can get crazy long if you don't get there before 10:00pm. Nice if you want to switch between different vibes.

As always the food and staff were excellent. Our server was witty and very nice. If only the underground bathroom didn't smell of urine and they had better toilette paper it would have been a solid 5⭐

Been to the drake a few times but I was never fully aware of the size and functionality of this place — id only ever eaten at the restaurant on the main floor so attending a function in a party room upstairs and seeing the outdoor bar area was very cool. Our servers were attentive, helpful and kind. The food was fresh and delicious. Everyone had a blast. Will definitely consider the drake for future events.

I went to the Drake on. Sunday morning for brunch. I would recommend making reservations to guarantee a seat. There is outdoor patio seating as well as a rooftop patio and an indoor dining area. The brunch options are good for all diets, traditional bacon, egg and sausage breakfast, but there are also vegan and vegetarian options available. Beverages are plenty and range from juice to coffee, teas and morning cocktails. Street parking is free on weekends, on the residential side streets near the Drake. Great service and good food. Would go back. Keep in mind it is a tad on the pricey side for brunch.

What to try?! More like what to experience! Drake hotel is known for their lively atmosphere and open space. There's an upstairs, a main room and the basement. All open for you to roam while you hold a drink. I love drakes hotel's overall atmosphere. Tamed, low key, and a great place to bring your friends for a few drinks. I would say the crowd is also on the mature side. The patio upstairs is nice because it's an open patio so on a good summer night, it's not too hot and you get some fresh air while you enjoy the night. The cocktails here are nice too. I had the Palero spritz which was refreshing and easy to drink. We also had the angel food cake with strawberries on top which was light, not too sweet and very delicious. Last tip? There's a $10 cover charge. Some VIP booth sections limit the areas you can take a seat. Try the cocktails, you won't regret it!

I had brunch on the rooftop patio. Drinks were great, but the smoked salmon bagel wasn't quite what I was expecting. It was a lot of cream cheese and the salmon seemed more like cooked flake salmon than the usual strips of smoked salmon. Nonetheless, I would return for the ambiance and drinks.

Didnt like the part upon entering strange behavior. I was just casually dressed up. At entrance they showed me the menu first by telling me that if I can afford it or not. Very bad. I am pretty sure if a person is entering a place he or she knows what can he/ she afford. But service after that was nice and food was delicious. So your food and waiter saved your stars other wise zero star.

A favourite place to enjoy some downtime, I visited The Drake with my family this weekend and had another great experience. It was early when we got there, and fairly quiet. I know the place well, but Matthew was kind enough to give my daughters and I a mini-tour explaining the different areas of the property. They loved it! Thanks, Matthew, for making a good weekend that much better.

Love this place! Great place to celebrate a birthday! The rooftop is a nice outdoor lounge with chill vibes, the main floor is a dine in area that becomes a big dance floor and downstairs is like a club of its own. In my experience the music on the main floor is always the best. Lines usually get busy after 11, so if you're there before then you're good. I always have a good time here and would highly recommend the Drake!

The Iconic Drake hotel is bar none the best place to take in high quality arts and cultural event programming in Toronto on any given day of the week. It draws interesting and likeminded people as a result which equates to memorable meet-ups and fun times. The staff are knowledgable, friendly, respectful and helpful (Thanks KiKi :) The Drake has different vibes that you can all experience in one night — The underground and live concert venue, the lounge, the enchantingly lit roof top patio and the restaurant. I've been to the Drake over 50 times over the last 5+ years and the programming consistently never fails to amaze me. Thank you Drake Hotel for being Awesome.

Welcoming and helpful at reception. We attended a slam poetry event at the hotel. The place was clean and the bar service was great, right down to the bartender taking extra steps to ensure I was happy with my wine selection.

The upstairs patio is small but nice. If you want to make sure you have somewhere to sit make a reservation. Overall great vibe and really busy throughout upstairs and the main floor. Service was good and the staff were attentive considering how busy it was.

The DRAKE Hotel has some really great VIEWS. The VIEWS are absolutely wonderful at the DRAKE hotel. The phones there are great, they can even arrange a wake-up call so you can hear the HOTLINE BLING. I'll go back during the SUMMER SIXTEEN, definitely. By the end of the time I was there, I only had time for ONE DANCE. After I had come here, NOTHING WAS THE SAME. Man, WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE, and IF YOU'RE READING THIS ITS TOO LATE, because I'm probably there, right now!

Went to go see the poetry slam on April, 17th 2016. Great atmosphere, great cocktails (I had an old Fashioned) service is prompt. Great venue for any social ocassion.

Great stylish decor, wait staff attentive and helpful. We enjoyed the lamb ribs and fried chicken. The seasonal fare nothing really wowed us though. Only came for food not to stay at hotel.

Really funky art hotel with rotating galleries and style oozing off the walls. A great place where locals hang out. If you get there for brunch you have to try the chicken and waffles! And get the freshly baked scones too. Delicious!

The Drake has always been an inventive and eclectic place in the Toronto scene. I love sitting at the bar and enjoying the unique drinks crafted by their bartenders, or lounging at a candlelit table over a great meal. The Underground is an intimate venue for shows of all kinds (just saw Tor Miller there and he was spectacular). Love the Drake, will go back infinitely.

This place is so famous nobody needed to review it before. Either that or they are too cool to review.

Only came here for dinner. Food was unique and tasty but nothing amazing and very pricy. Service was mediocre but they were busy.

Went for Wednesday Trivia night. Was tons of fun. Great cocktails and appetisers. Trivia was a great game as well. Highly recommend.

The rooms were amazing, comfortable and unique. We won a stay at the deluxe suite and it was a great experience from check-in to check-out. Both the rooftop patio and the basement club were beyond enjoyable as well.

Wow what an attitude problem these guys have. Even on the phone call with them they seemed like uppity a$$holes. Great decor just filled with with ironically classless people who think they are better than you. Awful service and just straight up rude. I hope right minded people avoid supporting mean people like the staff and services of the drake.

Bouncers are absolutely classless. Running their mouths at people who have been going there for years. Was denied tonight for having a hat on at like 9 PM. There are plenty of bars around. Recommend Dog and Bear which is a 30 second walk east which is much more down to Earth and priced better.

We enjoyed our first dinner experience at the Drake, the food was good and the Pisco Sour perfect. We were disappointed that we could not return before leaving Toronto due to an event … didn't want to eat in the Cafe because too hot and no aircon.

I love the atmosphere of the Drake Hotel, it is a very trendy place to go for a night out. I enjoy the food – however, my friend and I decided to go for dinner at the Drake and our service was terrible. Not sure if our server was new but it took very long to receive our drinks and also very long to even pay our bill. It was almost like we had been forgotten about. If I am spending a lot of money for a meal, I expect good service.

Hip boutique hotel with a pair of bars serving tasty eats. Favorite drink has got to be the Caesar, a really good Bloody Mary made with Clamato juice. But the standout among the many good snacks is the LAMB BELLY skewers — — maybe one of the best small dishes I've ever had.

I have stayed at the Drake twice, once for business and once for pleasure. Both times were. How to put this. Awesome. Couldn't ask for anything better. To give some perspective on my opinion: I have stayed in all types of accommodation all over the globe. My tastes are eclectic and I have high standards/expectations when a place is touted. This place met every single whim and fancy I had. Great restaurant, fun music downstairs. Relaxed and stylish upper deck for afternoon cocktails (although, it was a bit boozey-smelly from the night before) GREAT brekkie and coffee in the cafe downstairs. The staff were helpful, intelligent, lovely and genuine. It was very hard leave. Highly recommended, but I wish I could keep it a well-guarded secret.

People say that when you have name, that is more than enough for the business to run successfully! This is what happened with The Drake, people come here with lots of expectations but they get really bad service, this very thing happened with me! Their food was nice as well as their decor, but the wait staff was rude and the guy who was taking care of table was vanished after the food served and showed his face at the time of leaving! this really made my husband angry.

LOVE the Drake. Amazing food, even better drinks and couple music venues to choose from. Great place for a date night or drinks with friends. Weekends get very busy so get there early. One my favourite patios in Toronto in the summer as well. Keep up the good work.

We were a group of 7 that ended up going to the place for Sunday brunch. I liked the ambience and the decor. However, it was annoying to have so many wasps and bees around, sitting on the food. That was definitely a bummer. Also, the server messed up my order with someone else inspite of the fact that I clarified my order when he was placing the plates on the table.

My friend took me to the Drake Hotel as he said me that this place is a regular go for him, so we went there and ordered fried chicken for me and he ordered Drakes burger, I want to say that the food was nice, but the service was just meh, our waiter was responding us as if we are giving him a very big task to complete. My friend said that a waiter who was familiar to him was not there and this guy know that the other was his favorite, this thing made our experience unpleasant.
