STAY FAR FAR AWAY! very surprised this place is still open! DISGUSTING.

Worst hotel experience of my life… I have never written a bad review anywhere and I am usually not the kind of person to complain but our room was absolutely disgusting. Turned down the bed and there were hairs, crumbs and stains everywhere. Toothpaste spit all over the sink and mirror in the bathroom. Coffee and food spills on the countertops, and rotten half eaten food in the fridge. Muddy footprints everywhere. Needless to say the room had not been cleaned from the last guests, or last several guests. Told the front desk man (who didn’t seem to be surprised), and we were put in a different room. Sadly the second room was worse than the first. In the middle of a pandemic you would think things would be clean. This was truly traumatizing. We were blessed to get a room in a different hotel at 10:30 at night after making several phone calls, otherwise we would have been sleeping in our vehicle.

The people and rooms. Price is great too.

There was nothing about this place that was special. It was clean and neat, good location, walking distance to most things downtown. The only issue I had was the way the hotel was spread out. It was typical of a lot of places that have been bought by corporate interests, they buy a place that's small, then build an annex away from main building, which means you have a hike and a half if you need to go to front desk for anything, which is what this place has going on. So it's as good as any other place in Williams Lake, and yes, inflated prices during tourist season.

Clean and spacious. Fair price. Bathroom was small though.

This particular sand man is the worst kept sandman in BC/Alberta. I have stayed at all of them long term for work and the Williams lake location is by far the worst in terms of house keeping. Today I checked into a room and there was blood, old hairs, and spit stains in the sink. This is just one of the many times I have been to a room at this hotel and been disappointed with the quality of the house keeping. I would not stay here if you don't have to.

I specifically stay at this hotel for the convenience, enjoy the 1 bedroom suites, and come through here often. But this trip has been incredibly disappointing. I did speak with staff before posting a review and was offered a 10$ Dennys gift card, and honestly didn't make things better in my opinion. I booked a king suite, which on the website advertised as having a sofa bed, and balcony. When I arrived I was placed in a basic room that had neither sofa nor balcony. I confronted front desk and was immediately switched to the correct room (but a queen, whatever, not a huge problem). However I was VERY disappointed with the state of the room. The toilet looks like it hadn't been cleaned, there's food on the cupboards in the kitchen and the microwave hadn't been cleaned, there was no chair on the balcony and the balcony had about an inch of water pooling up due to the drains not being cleared, various other spills and stains about the room, and there wasn't even a wine opener in the room, or at the front desk. This is not the standard I'm used to from this hotel and am not at all impressed. I will be staying at another hotel the next time I come to WL.

We ate dinner at Denny's. It was stampede weekend, and they seemed short-staffed. The food was as expected — it's Denny's — but the long periods between seeing the server was annoying.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. However there is no A/C in the room and it was a bit too hot to be comfortable.

Ecpect to be treated like garbage if you are a minority. They basically hide the first nations away from the whites. The racism doesn't change even if your are well off. The rooms are disgusting an so are the trash that work there. The grey haired lady at the front desk is a condisending and rude. Head office will here about all of this.

Comfortable beds and quiet for sleeping as well as friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean except for a pervasive smell of smoke. Cracking a window made it bearable, otherwise it was a stellar stay.

Central location is nice. Only has a pool but no hot tub. Denny's in the lobby is nice. Normal room I was in did not have a fridge or microwave. Normal cable only, no digital box. Rooms are nicely maintained.

Housekeeping staff needs to be trained properly. Or maybe they just don't like their job. Second day there, our room didn't even get cleaned. Found someone's underwear in the drawer from before. Third and fourth days, the dirty glasses we used on the first day were still sitting on the dusty desk, unreplaced. Beds were just pulled up over wrinkled sheets and they continually left only 2 sets of towels while there were 4 of us staying in the room. No microwave, no tea. Only coffee. I wouldn't stay at a Sandman again. Disappointing for the money.

Would have got 5 stars if it had a hot tub but very nice location… I had the suite for 2 days… Save-on foods next door and Safeway across the street. All amenities close and Rodeo grounds just a 10 min walk.

Stayed here for a few months while here for work. Staff are hard working and have always been helpful. They were short staff in house keeping while I was there and when I needed something the frount desk staff was always apologetic and would consider me to my room fairly quickly to bring me the items requested. The staff are hard working and dedicated to guests that are staying there.

Staff was nice. Looks like renovations could have been done a lot better. Door wouldn't latch shut. I have 2 kids under 3 years old and they were quieter than our room neighbours. Price was average and can't beat the free 13th night in a Sandman Signature suite room. I have stayed at almost every Sandman in the province now.

We were able to bring our dog inside with us. Everything was very clean and the front desk staff was absolutely amazing. They made sure that we had absolutely everything and anything that we might possibly required. In the attached Denny's restaurant, the staff was friendly as well. Food was delicious. Our granddaughter was given her meal for free which was so kind of them. We were displaced by the provincial fires that were going on at the time. I highly recommend stopping here. I have never been treated better at a hotel than here! WOW.

Nice but first room smelled of cigarettes. They were move rough to move us, but the next room was a bit shabby. The heat register cover was off and sitting on the floor, the bathroom was not clean, and worse the bed was broken, sagged so much on the side at the middle that I kept falling off the bed. My husband and daughter didn't notice or care about the smoke smell and they slept fine with no issues of falling out of bed.

1 star is too many. Had rooms booked, told to wait 4 hrs. No microwave. No fridge. TV not working. Hair in shower. Expensive Denny's, Ick! Hopefully next time will be better.

I booked a suite because I wanted kitchen facilities and a comfortable place to relax in the evening while in town on business. When I arrived I was told they didn't have a suite for me and instead found my room was closet sized without so much as a bar fridge and soundproofing was non-existent. The guy at the counter was not the least bit apologetic and the look on his face suggested he couldn't have cared any less. My two night booking was cut to one night, and I would have left on the spot if there had been other rooms available in town. The only positive comment I have is that the room was at least clean. I am in town a couple of times a month, but won't be returning to the Sandman.

No microwave in any rooms. Had to put water through the coffee machine, then in to a cooler, then place my food in a plastic container and float it in the hot water to warm my food. They were vacuuming at 11:30 pm! My friends room had no working lights, aside from the bathroom. They got to use the TV to see their room. Will not be returning.

Service was excellent. Better than I expected.

Nice clean rooms at a reasonable price. Denny's attached for 24 hour food.

Cozy place, right downtown. Five minutes waking nearly anywhere, convenient for bus routes.

There as a firefighter during the Whitelake fire. The two staff members that stayed behind where excellent. Rooms where every nice.

Jonathon Pim is the name of the manager at Williams Lake who stayed behind to support aircrew and fire fighters when all other hotels locked their doors and left us not only homeless but without our gear. This place is a total dump. Total. Dump. It looks like it is joined to some sort of halfway house. There are really rough-looking characters entering the run-down apartment joined to the hotel and hanging about the hotel parking lot. Some were getting high in the parking lot. There is a yellow and purple house next to the hotel parking lot with broken and boarded windows. It looks like a crack house. The king suite has a pullout "sofa" that is a two seater chair. The mattress is mint-thin. You feel every wire and rib through the "mattress". If you are over 5'5" you will not fit on the pullout. The air conditioner did not work in the suite either. There is no PPV. There is dog feces in the parking lot. I cannot even give it one star but have to in order to post my review.

It's hard to hide stains in white sheets so it was pretty obvious when the top sheet wasn't changed when we first got there. There is also a puke stain on desk seat that dried up it seems. But the personnel service was alright. They were nice and got the item I needed.

Not great… pool wasn't available, ridiculously hot in halls, poorly designed bathroom, Staff member couldn't tell us where the ice machine was located. Beds were comfortable is the only nice thing I have to say.

Dirty Rooms, quite expensive and no continental breakfast.

Quiet, comfortable, cleanand good working Wi-Fi.

Guest services is great and has a dennys location attached for breakfast… smoothie place around the corner has healthier alternatives.

Clean rooms. Not much in the fitness room. Can check out as late as 2pm.

Arrived after a long day of travel to find a filthy room. Sheets on the bed had not been changed (blood stained). Do not recommend.

Only thing missing is some kind of weight machine in fitness room.

Our stay in your hotel was awful — front desk lady was nice though. First, I requested a suite not near the elevator as I am a very light sleeper. We booked a good month a half ahead yet they put us right next to the elevator! The cot was a vinyl covered foam mat that laid on the floor — it was noisy every time you moved and very uncomfortable. The hide-a bed was a tiny 2 inch foam that was even worse to sleep on. You could feel each couch band underneath you — this was unmade as well — so I needed to make 2 beds upon arrival and had to move a lot of furniture to do it. They did leave some bedding — but kids were cold with only one blanket each. The suite had its own hot water tank so we ran out of hot water daily! The bathroom wasn’t very clean. I took pictures of underneath the bathroom soap holder that showed lots dark filth and black mildew underneath that I could pick off — GROSS! The master bedroom was nice and cozy except the door did not close properly without a really loud bang — WOKE UP KIDS EACH TIME — so could not close it! Although the suite had 2 TV's there was only one remote not fun to go back and forth from room to room everytime you wanted to turn up the volume or change the channel. The Wi-Fi was sketchy, only worked sometimes, was very slow when it did work. Although there was 4 of us our suite we only had dishes for 3! What a waste of money! Would not stay again! Would NOT recommend.

Rooms were quite clean with the exception of the bathroom being quite dirty and the bathtub really dirty. Service was helpful. The view out the window wasn't the greatest for the location as it was directly at a worn down house.

I had the most horrific experience at Sandman. Never in my entire life have I had such a horrible hotel experience. Not only was it bad customer service, it was downright negligent of the hotel, which messed up my reservation in a manner that is simply unacceptable. I stayed one night, and in the middle of the night at 2 a. M. Some stranger barged into my room with a room key that had access to my room. I had the deadbolt in place, but it must have been broken, because the person got into the room anyway. I woke up terrified and screaming at the person to get out and then promptly called front desk. The front desk told me "oh sorry I didn't know there was someone in the room. " Apparently they had given another guest my room at 2 a. M. In the morning. My only question is — actually, I have multiple questions: 1. How idiotically is your system set up that you don't know which of your rooms have guests in them? 2. Do you typically have guests accidentally entering each other's rooms because you don't have a proper system? 3. How have you not been sued for gross negligence yet? This was sheer incompetence at its finest. I was told later by the manager that it was a newly trained staff that night who had made an accident with the reservations and failed to enter it into their system properly. Well, frankly, that is not my problem, and it is not a proper excuse to blame some new trainee.

Not worth even half the price. Our A/C unit didn't work, no fridges or microwaves in any of their rooms at any location. The only reason for 2 stars and not one is because the gals at the front desk were nice and helpful. We will never stay at Sandman again anywhere. We get more amenities at $60/night motels and motor inns.

Hotel and room were very nice. Stayed in a suite and had a full kitchen, dining/living room with separate bedroom. Stayed in room 213 which was right next to the elevator and unfortunately it kept me up all night. So. Don't stay in room 213 next time :).

They are renovating. Looking better.

It Got Renovated This Year N Its Awesome Staff R Friendly =).

This place is sick! We stayed here one night, it cost us $130, the whole place was run-down, dirty, mouldy, paint peeling, stains, smelly, exposed wires by the light switches. Just awful! The pool was dirty and the "sauna" was a joke. The only good part was Denny's. We told the front desk and they didn't seem to care at all. I would rather sleep in my car.

I've stayed the night on a couple occasions and always have a nice clean room and a great sleep. That's all I'm looking for! I "don't eat at Denny's" so I'm not sure about the food but I don't think twice about booking with them.
