Noise free, quite place to rest and relax. No hastle and buzz. Comfy beds and lovley gym. Pet friendly and no smoking rooms. Very neat, clean and tidy. All convenience are in the reach. The female front officer is so pleasing and helpful. A place for perfect resting and relaxing. It is now my favourite hide out after long weeks tiring work.

An amazing place for pleasant, peaceful and calm stay. Located centrally, well furnished and amazing customer service. Afordable price and nice service.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the beds were really nice. But everything else was a little outdated and old. All in all, I'd say a good, clean hotel to stay in Edmonton for cheaply, and would be a really nice hotel if they did some renos just to freshen up the place and fix the outdated style and some of the more run down equipment.

Rooms are quite spacious. Service was okay. They have a funny smell to them. Location os prime for Union Hall or the Ranch events. Breakfast was muffins, bagels and cereal. Pretty underwhelming but a good banger for buck.

It is in a sketchy plaza. Did not feel safe. Convenient store next door even has a ruptured glass like someone threw a rock through it.

The room was clean, location was convenient for what we were doing and going. Very frustrated with the charging process. We checked out and handed our keys in at 11:08 and were charged a late fee, front desk was extremely unreasonable and rude about the process. As well, when asked about other charges and if it related to the continental breakfast their response was “Breakfast has nothing to do with it, anyone could walk off the street and eat it, we don’t monitor it. ” So, what exactly are we paying for additional people? Room was good, employees were mediocre at best.

Clean and very Big rooms with a large bathroom. It is a bit older but very clean and well maintained. A lot of smaller amenities right in the strip mall around it. Liquor store is open till 2 AM, convenience store right beside the entrance. Also they allow pets.

Night staff was friendly, hotel room was comfortable and nicely clean, surprisingly we had mini kitchen in the room with stove as well. Overall experience was great.

It is good place to stay. Comfortable accommodation, spacious, in good location with a lot of shopping facilities near by. Pricing also reasonable.

I work for CARSON POW-R-VAC Ltd which performs HVAC/furnace cleaning in ALBERTA CANADA. It strikes me how thoughtful the ARGYLL PLAZA site managers are. They are so busy & yet they take time to give our estimators info on the needs of their managed bldgs (ie energy optimization & reduction of sickness/absenteeism by promoting a healthier indoor environment). We have also been hired by them & the STAFF ARE FAB! All the best MARK OF cpvDOTca.

Place seems to be run like a gong show when manager is not around. I'm in the Health and wellness industry and my colleague was staying at this hotel. Thought it might be a nice play for us to catch up and share work notes. Staff was loud and goofing off around our table in the guest dining area. I asked If they could keep it down while we have our meeting in the guest dining area. Man took offense and told us to go somewhere else. When we didn't leave he clapped in my ear in an attempt to antagonize me. The whole thing was very bizarre. We were very gracious and ignored him, but it was unbelievably rude. I have witnesses as well.

Absolutely amazing people here customer service was awesome was able to take my puppy. Rooms were clean and nice.

For bachelor parties only As we were checking in, a dishevelled drunkard walked up to us in the lobby to ask if we had an extra condom he could have. The front desk man didn't even comment. Must be a regular occurrence. At 2am we were woken by some people across the hall telling a girl she had to pay someone money and they had to leave right away. The room was gross and not well cleaned. There was a long hair on the toilet seat and we wore our shoes in the room and didn't sit on the furniture as it seemed like a place where "happy endings" would take place anywhere and everywhere. In fact it is next to a massage parlour that apparently offers that service. The website says they allow small pets which is fine but there was a dog staying across the hall from that had to have been 50-60kg. It barked incessantly for hours as its owners were away. The kids would't leave our room they were so frightened. Breakfast was cereal and muffins — nothing to write home about.

Pretty good over all. Room was a discounted price. Pleasant staff. Room was pretty clean although the mirror wall above the Jacuzzi needed a good clean.

Ok place. Comfortable enough to sleep. Asked for non-smoking room, but smelt like heavy smoke.

The only thing that I didn't like was the rooms were to hot. The weather had changed and the thermostat hadn't been reset. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

Very very bad. I have not seen an ugly place to stay like this hotel. Very very old and service for room is suck. Washroom hasm not been updated since 20 years at least. Breakfast is poor and notging to offer except muffine and coffee. Coffee machine has been washed for long time dirt clearly can be seen. Mattress are very un confy at all. You can not adjust the heat. Pictures atvthe website is totally different from the actuall room it is scam and cheating.

Not every place has to be 5 star to work just fine. Argyll Plaza Hotel is one such example. It's a small hotel embedded in a strip mall. The rooms are big enough and with reasonably comfortable beds. No frills and no soft touch to the decor, but nonetheless functional and usable. The hall to the rooms is brick extruded giving the place a cell-block feel, but past that everything works just fine. It's a non-smoking hotel so the rooms are not smelly or stuffy. The temperature is set warm which you'd expect for Canadian winters. The bedding is also extra thick for those who need extra padding. The hotel Wi-Fi works just fine and the TV channel selection is basic cable. The only problems you might encounter are the occasional noise bleed from concerts at Union Hall (next door) or Rosie's Bar (downstairs). Price was very low $58 (Cdn) so the value was excellent.

Good big room to sleep. But don't expect more than that. Breakfast is basically bread and orange juice. Doesn't deserve more than 50$/night.

Wonderful location. Outdated carpeting, recent change to non-smoking hotel. Needs good cleaning, and minor repairs.

Argyll Plaza is an older style hotel, feels like I was lost in a shining movie. A $200 deposit is required to stay and as of October 1, 2017 all rooms are non smoking. I am told New couches arriving tomorrow.

Breakfast was bread, cupcakes and cereal (sad looking) but waited for the milk for a long time. Want to take a bath but it doesn't have a stopper for the bathtub. Pay $10 more for a kitchen which is reasonable but you can see the dirt between the wall and the kitchen cabinets. The fridge is not cold other than those hair you see on the bathroom floor or in the shower… it roomy, and big.

Can't say about the hotel but the restaurant (Rosie's) is really good food and service.

Pulling up to the hotel I quickly began to regret booking our room because it is not in the nicest area and the outside looks quite run down. Once we got inside though it improved. The room was large and had everything you would need. The king bed was clean and so comfortable. Great price, friendly front desk staff, and juice and snacks for a decent continental breakfast. Id definitely stay here again.

You need to see VALUE first we need smoking rooms pet friendly and coffee makers lol. This place has EVERYTHING… Rosie's bar n grill Donair shop. Liquor store centrally located. Very VERY large rooms. N to only cost 85$ well how can u beat thst.

We have stayed at this hotel for many years but have not been here for a couple of years. They have upgraded the rooms and they are very clean. And the attached restaurant has a great menu and above average meals. All the staff have been efficient and courteous.

This is a hotel located on the top of a strip mall. The photos which we saw on line didn't really prepare is for what the hotel was actually like. The beds were a little small but fairly comfortable. The breakfast is just muffins and cereal and toast with a pub attached to the side which serves breakfast as well. The rooms were clean and the Wi-Fi was good.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Argyll Plaza Hotel. I am very appreciative of the special treatment by all staff members. Every staff member was very polite, professional and friendly. Always a smile. The atmosphere was perfect. It was like a movie set. Many different areas to hang out in — restaurant, breakfast nook, lobby and exercise room. The access to Rosie's Bar & Grill was perfect. Fun times and great food, excellent service and always a smile from an employee. Very affordable. Very interesting. You made me feel like a welcome guest. Thank you for remembering me and calling me by name. I will be back!

Given the inexpensive cost, it was a huge space overall. The interior of the hallways had this really neat look to it. Small continental breakfast was included. Fridge and microwave was provided. Bathroom was also spacious. Not quite in the south and not quite downtown it was a little remote but an easy drive to get to things.

The bed was cramped, and smelled strongly of baby powder milk. The air condition was too loud and didn't work well. I will probably never go back.

Rooms are old but clean. They do offer the best Internet of all the hotels I have stayed at; full speed 25mbps in each room.

It would be nice if there were some pet friendly rooms that were not also smoking rooms. It was unpleasant to be forced to spend the night in a room heavily saturated with cigarette smoke because we wanted to travel with our dog. The beds were not very comfortable and the water pressure was very weak. The only reason we stayed here was the low price, but you get what you pay for in this case.

5 star rating is due to: helpfulness of concierge, Steve. He informed me of an airport shuttle, charged 30 CAD (round-trip). A taxi would of been $100 (round-trip). Steve also arranged a taxi to drive me to a meeting at 8AM. Furthermore, this hotel offers a continental breakfast, has large rooms, is well kept, located within Argyll Plaza, which includes a connivence store and Subway amongst other services, is less than 15 minutes from Edmonton's core and most importantly charged 40 CAD less per night than competitors.

This hotel was well below par. It was clean and was a big big room. However. The beds were old and hard as sleeping on plywood. The walls are paper thin and you could easily hear people talking next door. The TV's are mounted on the walls and you will have to fight with the neighbor to get to sleep if they are still watching when you go to bed or if you want to hear what your watching. Sink plug didn't work. Shower curtain was installed to high and fell out of the tub. overall it was disappointing enough to know I won't consider it as an option the next time I am in Edmonton.

For being in such a crummy area of the city, the staff is friendly and they keep it clean!

Stayed there multiple times. Very affordable. Rooms are big. Two beds, couch with a hidabed inside. Friendly staff. :)

Our stay here was awful. The bed was so old and felt as springs were poking everywhere. Do not stay here if you actually want to sleep.

Nice hotel considering the price, it is well located and has free Wi-Fi, everything you need at the right cost.

Looks good with individual Wi-Fi in each room.

I was going to Edmonton for a week on a business trip. As I am eating healthy and didnt want to spend the money on eating out I wanted a room with a kitchenette. As work was paying for my accomodation price was not an issue for me. But as I did not get much notice for my trip everywhere was either booked up or didn't have a kitchenette in the area I wanted to stay. So after finding the Argyll was the only place around the area that had available rooms with kitchenette I was a little skeptical especially after I had read some of the reviews. So after staying there this is my summary based on my paticular room. Definately older with older furnishings and older kitchenette but had everything I needed. Kitchenette was a little small for working area but I managed. Room was clean and cleaned everyday. Had a couch, lounge chair, table, 2 beds that for the look of them were rather comfortable except the flat pillows. Fridge was a decent size with an icebox inside. The biggest downfall for me was the horrible water pressure in shower. Staff was friendly and courtious. Great value though and I saw people coming in with coupons. So if you are looking for a good priced place to stay and your not worried about new fancy everything. Then this might be the place for you.
