Review of Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Bonnyville, an IHG Hotel 2*

I had a small house fire so picked one of the new hotels in town. What a mistake. First of all I said my wife would be coming with out child and to have her name on there. I was dealing with the insurance stuff and got to my phone and had 6 missed calls from her and the hotel. They would not let her in after I said she will be coming and gave her name. Then when I got back into the room my wife was in tears because our daughter only 4 found a giant wad of hair beside the bed in the corner. It was disgusting and unacceptable. Its a new hotel I don't get how that gets missed unless the people who work there don't care. Then all was ok so we went to sleep. They have a free breakfast and I recommend skipping it. Again we found hair in both my plate and my daughters plate. Not our hair as it was black and we don't have black hair. We immediately went to Tim Hortons to get something else. Now things happen. I hate reviews like this because I always think the people are going too far and over reacting. So I figured I'd ask to speak to the manager and get an apology. After coming back from Tim Hortons I asked. I was told they were gone for the day. I told them my concerns and they did;t even seem to care. No apology, no nothing. I couldn't believe it. I was told twice there is nothing that can be done and I would have to wait till the manager is back. So I canceled the rest of my reservation and am going somewhere else. I'm shocked that something like this would happen. Our home is damaged, my wife and kid are heartbroken because of some things that were lost and this hotel has zero sympathy. Do not stay here. Maybe your stay will be better but my family would appreciate if you didn't until they publicly apologize and do something about this. Its been over a week and still no word from the manager or anyone at their company. They don't care. I'm so upset over this. Unacceptable.
