Excellent view from all Copacabana beach.

We booked on expensive dates so they gave us a free room upgrade, the heated rooftop pool was nice, as was the Skylab restaurant ($$ though! ) and the staff made an effort to be friendly. Would return here again, and the views in this location are a must-see for anybody new to Rio.

Good central location. We had a side room but even still views of the beach were spectacular. Everything was excellent but the building is getting old and needs updated. Takes about 3 minutes from turning the shower on until it gets hot enough to shower, there was a 1"gap along the top of our sliding balcony door.

I would not say this hotel is a five star one. Few basic items available such natural yogurth in the breakfast (I was told the hotel don't buy enougth for all). A sign ask tables to be shared at the breakfast. Confusing booking system (my credit card was not recognized as a guest in the bar due to credit card registration, in spite being used it to provide a payment garantee) and other issues concerning booking detection. It seems the hotel presents a major administrative problem.

Well I did not expect this hotel to be that good, however, it exceeded my expectations. The hotel is great with a central location on the beach. But what makes this hotel great is the friendly, professional, and helpful staff. At the reception I met Mr. Thiago & Mrs. Sandra and they were really kind and helpful. Offered us drinks. The check in was really fast and I am really glad we booked at this hotel.

Location is great. Staff are friendly. Beach service is a good touch. The big let down for me was the hotel itself. It looks tired and outdated. Despite booking with a good discount, I didn’t find the room very comfortable and the toilet/shower wasn’t the best. I would book there again but I’d check first.

Excellent hotel. Very good location It's old but it has everything in excellent condition. Very good breakfast and great drink bar in the pool sector. Beautiful, it is on the top floor and with a view. The hotel restaurant is very good level but very expensive.
From the hotel you can reach any restaurant and the different beaches with just walking. Very safe and beautiful area to walk to the night by the waterfront.

Location is perfect. Unfortunately, the service is underground. At the reception, no one is really interested in what the guest wants. I have been here 5 times (because of the good location). But won't be visiting this hotel again. Prizes are awarded here at the reception at the reception.

Is really weird to find bad customer service in Rio, but I had to stay in Othon for an issue with my fly back home and since the check in, every thing was a mess, the room wasn’t completely clean up, the towels were smelling bad, fruit and medicines in the fridge used, (some rooms are really olds) breakfast doesn’t have fresh products, I asked for an orange juice and the person in charged told me that there’s not possibility to get one, because it is a buffet (weird). After some complaints in the reception, the manager gave me a free drink and send someone to clean up my room, when I was in checkout, finally!, going out from that place! the receptionist was trying to charge me extra for the room and my lunch, when everything was already paid! After 30 minutes in check out and waiting for the taxi to go to the airport I tried the free drink (typical drink from brasil kinda similar to mojito) it was awful this place was just bad (exception for the parking guys and ballet service) it’s one of the biggest hotel with nice views but really bad issues with their customer service orientation, I would recommend Miramar hotel if u ask me! Even the pool area is not that cool! The view is blocked by the columns! Ahh and the food were always overdone! Plates looks fine but it’s just simple …

The very elegant hotel has its own restaurant for lunch and dinner. The location is very good. It has a beach service. It gives you umbrella and towels. The room was very comfortable.

They have towels service and beach items, if it rains don't worry they have courtesy umbrellas.
In the night at 20 MTS there is a night fair on the beach there are every night singers presentations.
The beach is cleaned at night and is lit up as if it were a stadium.

A comfortable hotel in its location. Not all rooms have good view, they do not have good housekeeping, the curtains have holes and the towels are of low quality. There are days that in breakfast you have to make queues. The day I went to the pool was crowded, I only stayed a few minutes to see the sunsets. The staff is not that friendly. It's not a 5 star hotel. I think it was in time or maybe, for people who come to conventions.

Lobby was great and staff was incredibly welcoming. The hotel rooms need a huge update though and they were quite underwhelming. Locations is great though and very close to where you want to be in Copacabana! The market is right across the street and opens up around 6pm. The air-conditioning is great and the hotel offers spa water at the reception area. Water pressure from shower was super strong which was nice. Overall it was an okay stay as long as you're not expecting much from the hotel rooms.

Amazing rooftop where you can admire the entire Copacabana seawall. Also a fabulous spot for reading a few books while lounging by the pool.

A place that is not modern but with a first-class attention on the part of all the staff. The location was excellent and the staff were very friendly and restotantes. They help you in what they can. The rooms are comfortable, the bathroom also, there is safe. Cleanliness is excellent. They give without charge chairs and parasols for the beach. The. Excellent breakfast, very well served is my second visit to this hotel and will not do the last.

The tour they offer is a rip-off. I knew the same tour for the cheaper price but I booked the tour via this hotel because I expected that it would be better. At the end we found out that they even gave us the wrong information about the tour and we paid too much for this. Plus, the cocktails at the rooftop taste so bad.

The hotel is here for less. He's not prepared to accommodate so many people. Impossible to get an umbrella on the beach. The pool is minimal. They forget to clean the rooms. In short… I do not recommend. I wouldn't go back. The only good thing: The breakfast: very complete. I think the price is too high for the service they provide.

I had to stay there because of an issue with my fly, and I had the worst experience! The room was awful, it was smelling bad and the towels were like used and just put them again at the same place and then the fridge smelling bad for some yogurts and medicine opened up! The breakfast is so bad! No options and the food and the quality of the fruits is bad (buffet) limited, I ask kindly for a fresh orange juice and I was gonna pay it (breakfast included) and the person in charged said that there’s not way to have an orange juice just the machine orange juice! they don’t have any idea about customer service, in the check out they wanted to charged me just because the receptionist didn’t understand that the company already paid they have the worst service, treat, rooms, food, so I think that all I can say.

Beautiful beachfront hotel, we touched floor 25 side view a dream, the rooms of low floors have no view. Pool on the top floor, excellent breakfast, impeccable maintenance of the rooms!

It took Me several days to make the decision of the hotel to choose to come to Rio de Janeiro. I chose well. River Othon Palace is filling my expectations… I'm enjoying it now!

When you checkout, you want to charge an alleged city tax of 7 reais per day. Then they tell you it's not obligatory. Little confusing.

We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. Staff was courteous and friendly. Service at breakfast was great — wide variety of fresh fruits, breads, pastries, cereals and hot and cold meals to choose from. Did not try any of the other facilities except for a drink at the Skylab bar — view was great — service was just ok there. We checked out and went to Salvador and were able to leave our luggage at the hotel for 2 days till we returned. First room had a great view of Copacabana beach, second room had a partial view and was smaller but overall they were clean. We had prompt service to fix a malfunction in the bathroom and also with our safety deposit box. The only negative for me was that there were no wash cloths and that seems to be the case in Brazilian hotels as our hotel in Salvador did not provide them either. Just wish when I asked for them, staff would just be up front and tell me they are not provided instead of promising to send them to the room and not delivering on the promise. Otherwise was very pleased with everything and would recommend the hotel.

I met him on a trip to Rio in 1981… It was the best! The most! Today it is recycled and still impressive. Your attention is level and very good. I think another recycling or face wash would make it even more Top. Luis de Buenos Aires.

Rooms are fine but there are not enough elevators and front desk officers, so it is rather crowded, especially at check out times. Breakfast room is also crowded, not easy to find free tables. Location is great, in Copacabana Beach.

This is a strategically located tourist destination 5-star hotel with state-of-the-art facilities including very spacious ball rooms for hosting conferences, seminars and workshops. The staff are warm, prompt and ready to help at a beckon call. The hotel also has fantastic restaurants — one on the 3rd floor for breakfast and the other on the 5th floor for dinner. The restaurants and the topmost floor give breathtaking views of the adjoining Atlantic ocean and Copacabana municipal. However, you will be more at home with your drinking table water for drinking and mouth washing as its running tap water is sedimented and may not be safe for drinking.

Clean rooms, good staff, ok food. Worth it if you get a good deal on the price.

Othon Río Palace is a business hotel and vacation very well located in one of the most popular and famous of Rio de Janeiro, more expensive for what it is worth, but to visit business give you a somewhat preferential treatment, is a hotel a bit old and renewal with comfortable rooms that need a little more than maintenance especially the bed. The service is attentive and very friendly staff. It has all the services but for some you have to pay extra, for example the gym that is managed by an external company and should be included in the rate, which is already expensive for others.

It s a clean and wonderfull hotel. The people who work are very nice and the voew of my apartment was fantastic.

With my husband we traveled to Holy week and we really love, we were very pleased with the excellent attention.
Staff arriving at the hotel we received a button named francisco very simpatico, always we received with a smile and tried to solve any doubt that we had.
Recommend it 100% but if the rate is high the only thing I didn't like is that the photos pool is looked more big and really small.
But all the others a 7 very clean hotel feliz back a next time.

The great thing about this hotel is the location. Room and service are fine.

Was not exceptional. Was ok. But, I was in a convention and the security guy don't let me go to the bathroom on the lobby.

The hotel does not pulls on 5 stars somewhere between 3 and 4 stars in the room took a towel and not clogged sink transferred the balcony door not closed shower gel not hotel they are superb not terrible can rest but it's not exactly stars 5 + free reception only.

It is one of the hotels more expensive to copacabana, and care is terrible. For breakfast you have to wait 20 minutes to use the elevator. At the hotel need you several reforms. The bed is super uncomfortable. The next time not I would stay at this hotel.

Hello Rio Visitors. Today after I came back from breakfast I had a bad surprise. My money was stolen out of my wallet in the room. The wallet was lying not in the safe but on the desk. All credit Cards were still there (copied? ), but ALL cash was stolen, about 450R$ + 50 Euro. I did put the "do not disturb" card on the knob, which was seen by a cleaning lady. Hotel security checked with a tool if and who opened my door, but acc. To their electrical tracker nobody was in. However, the money is gone and my complain, that you cannot unlock the balcony door (sliding glass door) was ignored. So you come to Rio in a 5* hotel, where you are unable to lock your room properly! Every kid can climb from one balcony to the other easily, open the sliding door and have access to every room. No key, nothing enables you to lock the door! Security staff knows and says "nobody can climb on balconys. " So this was my first and last time in this hotel, as I have no chance of getting my money back. I didn't call the Police, but I did official report in the Hotel — no result. I passed two days hosted in Othon, Av Atlântica (from 23/09 to 25/09 and I must say I wasn't a pleasant experience The receptionist, called miss Erika was very impolite and since I my stay was prepared by the company and everything was invoiced and previously guaranteed by it she would'n have the right to treat me as I were a felon telling me that since I won't have a credit card to present I would'n be allowed to make any consumption further than the amount of money that the company ordered. Then, I ask you all What if I wanted to pay in cash anything further than the amount previously arranged? There are some others bad treatment I suffered with that "lady" that I prefer to send personally the letter to any responsible person in the hotel. It seemed to me that the reception is crave for tips, otherwise they don't pay enough attention to the clients, who support them with their salaries.

When there is wide range people entering. The attention is very delayed.

This place is a complete dump. The beds are older than the sand that is in them. They don't have anything but twin beds. The internet only works after negotiating with the IT tech of the day. The water is only hot for the first 3 minutes of your shower. They began heavy construction on the room next door and above me on the third day I was there. They refused to stop or do anything about the noise. The service is horrible, the AC is useless, the windows don't seal. I could go on for hours about the many ways this hotel should be demolished and put out of business, but suffice it to say, I will never be back to a hotel that is remotely associated with this one let alone this particular hotel.

This place is over price! Very, very outdated 'old as hell". I come to Rio every month and this was the first time ever that I see a Hotel at this category not having tooth paste for your clients. Ridiculous! R$500 just to sleep its ridiculous. Well, I definitely won't come back at the Othon Copacabana and I recommend you to do the same. — "what in the world this people think!? that we are stupid.
