Mariposa is just amazing! they have tons of activities for kids like foosball, ping pong, jungle gym and board games as well as a nice pool and yoga deck! Excellent service and amazing rates! I'll definitely be going back any chance I get! 110% recommended!

I want to say big thanks to the staffs at Mariposa jungle resort especially Freddie who had made us feel like royalty over this weekend. We had a blast. More Belizean should travel in their own country more. It's beautiful. Xoxo.

I took my family of 13 here and we had the most amazing time. The youngest in the group was 20 and the oldest was 71 and all had an amazing time. The accommodations were perfect. Clean, bug free, and roomy. The food was amazing and all staff were friendly and trustworthy. I definitely would recommend mariposa jungle lodge to anyone looking for a different vacation.

I walked around the property, enjoyed well maintained pathways and plants. Bumped into some workers working outside, chatted about tips of gardening etc. They are pleasant, very proud of their work, having fun working there. I loved being in this spot surrounded by such good vibes! btw, my recommended food there is falafel! Just can't beat theirs that is handed down by traditional Lebanese blood.

I definitely recommend Mariposa Jungle Lodge. The atmosphere was wonderful, the staff were kind and helpful and the food was delicious. The rooms were very clean and had everything you may need. I really enjoyed my stay and I will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful experience Mariposa.

I was lucky to spend two days there participating in a vegan high-vibration retreat! The food was amazing, the staff perfectly welcoming and the yoga and and pooltime completed my stay to perfection! Thanks so much!

This place was awesome. It was mainly the people/staff that made it such a wonderful experience. They made you feel like a King! We spent 5 days here and 5 days on San Pedro and this was BY FAR much more enjoyable and memorable. I highly recommend this place. Thanks guys, you are the best!

We spent 4 blissful nights at Mariposa. The cabanas are beautifully decorated and well appointed. We stayed in the Toucan Cabana and it was perfect for our family of 4. Delicious meals were served in the dining room with special consideration of food preferences. The nightly drink specials created by Freddy were fantastic and the meals were plentiful. We booked 2 tours through the Lodge, the ATM cave and Mountain Equestrian Trails… Both were fantastic! My husband loves… to drive so we chose to rent a car and explore the area on our own. Nelmarie and Shirley suggested places for lunch, sites to visit, places to shop, and how to find a guide at Xunantunich. Driving is not for the faint of heart in Belize. I would recommend using the drivers at Mariposa if you prefer a more relaxed vacation. I can't say enough about the incredible people at Mariposa. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay special. They made us feel like part of the family and we are forever grateful for their kindness and hospitality. We can't wait to return to Mariposa! Beautiful location. Outstanding staff who know your name and personalize your stay. The owners are wonderful and you speak with them daily, they also will go out of their way to accommodate you. We switched excursions at the last minute and she made it all happen without any hiccups. Top notch place that we will sure visit again.

Had a great but too short stay at Mariposa Jungle Lodge! I was definitely surprised by the amazing gourmet food served out in the middle of the jungle — a variety of plates and all delicious! The staff were all super friendly, helpful and accommodating, not to mention knowledgeable with answers to any questions you could throw their way (& there were resources available if there were any 'stumpers'! :). While you had all the amenities you could want, you were also right in the middle of the jungle with the occasional roar of a howler monkey, cicadas lulling you to sleep at night, great trails around the grounds, and more. Among other things, did the tour to Bols Cave Museum (a Maya sacred site) which was fascinating. Hope to return sometime for more adventures (& relaxation in the cabaña hammock and by the pool! )!

I can't say enough about how amazing our stay was. The staff is just amazing. They are friendly, warm and knowledgeable about everything. The grounds are well kept and cabanas are clean and comfortable. There is a great nature trail and bird tower on the property also. The tours available are well planned out and so much fun. The food is delicious and portion size is perfect. We loved it there and wished we could have stayed longer but we will be back.

Simply amazing and the service is beyond exceptional!

Mariposa Jungle Lodge is a little gem in the Belizean Jungle. Situated a few hours from Belize city, you take (mostly) paved roads until you get to the base of the mountains, after which you drive 30-40 minutes on an unpaved road to the actual lodge. Our driver asked us if we wanted to take the shortcut (rough road but saves you 10 minutes) or the semi-paved route — do yourself a favor and take the latter. Ha! Location: The lodge complex is pristine, and nested in the heart of the jungle. There is a main building surrounded by individual lodges which accommodate various numbers of guests. The walkways are semi-lit, so after dark you have no trouble finding your way back to your lodge but there is still an air of mystery and romance in the overall design. Adjacent to the lodges you can get onto hiking trails, which have good sign-posts and are quite easy to trek. They are still fun though, and worth doing. There is also a bird-watching tower a small hike away, which I'm disappointed to say yielded no birds for us. Service: The service here was top-notch, and I don't say that lightly. The staff numbers are quite light (it's a small place) so you get to know them, and conversely, they you. We really enjoyed the personal touch and the people working there genuinely seem to enjoy being there. The owner was spectacular, she changed around our plans so that we could go to the ATM cave at the last minute, was ever-accommodating and was very helpful.

Wow if your in Placencia walk the beach to Mariposa's you will not regret it! Exceptional food, great hospitality, and not only is the view and location directly on the beach but for those of you who are shy of jumping in the ocean just feet away, they have a cozy pool for you to stare off into the horizon right on the beach where they'll serve you all your needs. Highly recommended and can't wait to go again. The owners were very personable and made us feel at home. The lands keeper Julian knows it all and was the man.
