D 28 Hotel

A mixed welcome. Except at the time of reception of the rooms, no one at the reception. Delivery of the key in a box. Rooms with no charm. Rusty radiator, partially laid bare walls (exposed bricks). Tiny showers on the 3rd floor and not very clean. After a day out, back a bad smell in the room. No comfort. Poor quality Wi-Fi. Very expensive for quality. Once, but not two.

We stayed three nights. It’s ok on a budget but our shower/toilet room was literally in the bedroom as a small plastic bathroom pod. This led to a little damp smell building up. It was almost too small for me at 6ft2/188cm, so if you’re taller I’d stay elsewhere. We only ever saw someone on reception once. We asked for the beeping laundry room next to the bedroom to be quiet after the first night but it was back on the third night. Nevertheless, the hostel is well located, clean and quiet enough. The walls and ceiling are quite thin so there is some noise from upstairs/next door, and the beeping laundry machines were a minor nuisance.

This hotel enjoys its very good place in Bruges but there is no comfort and the value for money is very bad. You should not hesitate to get away from the center of the city to free itself to have a much higher quality.

We loved it! Good attention to it. A room formidable.

You can drive to the door by car. Directly opposite is a parking garage, where you can park for €8, €70, 000 a day. We had booked a double room but were given a free upgrade to an apartment. We were already an hour more likely to check in. The staff were very courteous and had a lot of tips for us in terms of gastronomy and sights. The location of the hostel is fantastic — quiet side street, right in the centre. €120for 2 nights that's a real bargain for Bruges. We only give prints in the B-note for the furnishing of the apartment: There were loose cables looking out of the ceiling of the living room; Curtain rod was attached, but there were no curtains on a very large window front; The kitchen was very good but hardly any utensils and dishes available, e. G. There was no pan at all and only one pot; Stains on the ceiling in the living room and the couch had no pillows and last but not least there was no window seer at all. Verdict: Good accommodation for small money. We will certainly be back!

Very good location, rather clean and comfortable, however do not expect to stay there, the accommodation is only useful for sleeping, we had a view on a brick wall, separate bathroom, a little noise (evening music, delivery truck in the morning, but we had the window open) and the light enters the room.
Our choice was for the rappirt quality price on the site, very good compromise.

A very central location, single rooms with bathroom. Perfect for sleeping without many luxuries in the heart of Bruges.

Spacious room with kitchen, private bathroom, excellent location, ground floor there is a bar for breakfast and 50 mtrs the Super.

Good price/vakue, absolutly in a center if town, the stuff is pokite, they don't have 0-24 desk only in a day. Rooms are clean and comfortable. They have coffee automat in the shared place 1€/coffee :)

Located right in the city center, great staff, very clean. Totally recommended!

Ho prenotato per due notti, nei giorni di sabato 24 e domenica 25 febbraio 2018, una stanza con bagno privato presso Hostel 28 ed arrivati ci accompagnano in una abitazione sita a Bruges nella via Helmstraat n. 19. Dopo la prima notte, la domenica del 25 febbraio alle ore 21 mentre ero in bagno con la mia compagna, entrambi nudi, irrompe il proprietario di casa che sale al piano di sopra e senza nemmeno bussare entra in bagno ed inizia ad urlare e a cacciarci di casa con irruenza e vio lenza, afferrandomi per il collo e pretendendo di sapere chi avesse fumato dentro casa. Cerco di spiegargli che nessuno aveva fumato e che era facilmente appurabile per l'assenza di alcuna puzza. Senonché ad ulteriore spregio della nostra privacy comincia a frugare tra I nostri effetti per trovare tracce di sigarette e pure a scoperchiare I secchi della spazzatura. Nonostante non sia riuscito a trovare nemmeno un mozzicone, afferma di essere sicuro che qualcuno avesse fumato perché gli era stato riferito e ci intima di lasciare l'abitazione in 10 minuti Dopo poco tempo sarà lui stesso a prendere la nostra roba e buttarla fuori di casa e a spingerci per cacciarci in fretta e chiuderci fuori ad una temperatura che si aggirava al di sotto dei 0°C. Inutile sarà l'arrivo della polizia che ci ha accompagnati in un altro hotel.

The front desk guy was very friendly, the room was clean and the location was great. To repeat certainly.

Great service with a smileand nice rooms. Clean and was nice to stay at and the price was the best part. For a hostel it was great. Only down side was the bed itself. I like a firmer bed and with 2 people on it. It felt a little like a waterbed. Solo it is probably great. After a few drinks… I preferred the floor after my other half turned over a few times. Pity the finish was not done properly or you would think your staying in a decent hotel. Wall paper not being cut properly or edges of the carpet being abit roughly cut. The style idea is quite good.

The hostel looks nothing like the pictures advertized. We arrived to find a dark, dingy room for two with dirty carpeting and mold around the window. The shower was just feet away from the bed — — and doubled as the toilet. Granted hostels are low cost and simple for the traveler on a budget, but this was false advertizing and certainly no place to stay even for a night. We checked out within five minutes of checking in and were only reimbursed for the second night. Of all the hostels I have visited, this was inexcusably bad. I suspect the good ratings here are fake.

Stayed here for a romantic getaway. Rooms weren't fresh had hairs and Marks on the bed sheets. Told the owner and he said "what do you expect for 40 euros" I replied "at least clean sheets" in the morning I said I wasn't going to pay the 3 euro city tax because of the service. The owner got very red in the face tried to lock the door to stop me leaving and then when I managed to get outside he put me up against a wall with his hand around my throat. We had to get local police involved. Would highly recommend somewhere else.

A small polished clean bathroom hotel which is for my fundamental close to everything you get on foot the only problem does not speak Spanish but it is a guy who makes you understand very well thank you for everything.

The receptionist was a really nice guy. Our room was clean and the towels were fresh. The only issue we had was that the guests in the room next to ours were really noisy and the walls aren't thick.

Personel very nice. Room clean but a bit too expensive for what you get.

Service is okay and the position is right in the middle of the city.

Excellent Hostel. The staff were Very friendly and helpful. The only thing I can say not so good was the shower that jammed the water.

We got room number 5, it's in a building next to the hotel but it belongs to them. It is a 4 floor without elevator, a mess as the stairs are of the old and they are super high and short, if you do not look to the floor you can fall. The room was clean, but the bathroom smelled bad.
Good views, though poor quality pillows.

Lovely Hostel, the dreaded blonde haired receptionist was a cool guy and very helpful. The accomodation is small but our room had a dluble bed, small sink, mirror, hair dryer, and a set of table and chairs.

Receptionist very friendly, we went to the room N5 that is in the adjoining building, the hotel is very old, fitting so with the old town of Bruges. I can only comment on the Edifio in which I was, which is not the hotel 28. Nice but in cleanliness is better.

The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good. The attention was excellent.

Bed linen was not clean, room dusted, nothing for allergy sufferers! Water ran down in the rain in the room wall, the plastic shower in the hallway was filthy, mould and bagged. I haven't seen anything like that. The location top, the rest a flop. This place has ruined my short trip.
Never again.

Lovely hostel with clean rooms and shared bathrooms. Close to the main square and all the other tourist attractions in Brugge. I would definitely stay there again!

Cheap prices, great location (just in the middle of the historical center) and very friendly owner. Plus, the rooms are clean, tidy, and so the bathroom even if it's shared. If I come back in Bruges I will totally come back in this hostel.

Great little hostel in a great location. Clean, basic rooms but great value for money. Service was really great. :) just as a side note, walls are very thin. Had other hostel guests having great sex. Beds must be quite sturdy ;)

The worst! Room was nothing like in the pictures and stank as if a chain smoker had lived there for 30 years and never opened the window (which was incidentally so filthy you could hardly look outside). Location was lovely, but that was it.

Nice Location er liked the Room, comfortable enough to stay for a Weekend. The guy at the reception was really kind. The time er stayed they had "a little" water problem. So while showering a was able to count the drops. But the real problem and reason we would, if we got the choice for a room in another hostel, prefer that is, the disgusting smell. Entering our room from outside through the closed Window. Not always but for the few hours we spend in the room, definitely too often. We guess it was the smell of wastewater… everytime someone was using toilet or shower on the ground floor…

Not a good place to go by far… Unless you only want to sleep and awake as soon as possible. Low quality rooms and a lot of stairs to walk to get into the room in most cases. Not bad to stay less than one night, however is not suitable for long stays or families. The views through the window on the roof from the third floor are beautiful if you are lucky enough to have the windows on the Belfort tower side.

Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms with towels, hairdryer and soaps provided. Free Wi-Fi throughout and shared bathrooms very clean and easy to access.
