Nice hotel with good services. The rooms are nice, comfortable bed, complete equipment in the room with small bottles of water offered and coffee pod also, tap for the pool. Free swimming pool very clean, fresh water without chlorine, sauna hammam, fitness room accessible. BUFFET Breakfast Ultra full and very good, fresh orange juice. Fresh fruit, International buffet… Helpful staff and listening making efforts to speak in French. Free Parking. 3km from the historic centre of Antwerp in 20mn by tram and 10 minutes by car but important works. Tram to 300m.

I have stayed in this hotel twice now and it keeps getting better, from the friendly staff to the great bar and restaurant as well as it's location it's a must stay Antwerp.

Good hotel, but level was a bit disappointed to Van Der Valk standards. Breakfast was good, spacious rooms with free coffee and water available. Strong Wi-Fi.

Catering was goed voorzien. Restaurant en bar zijn goed verzorgd, bediening is zeker in orde. Top locatie voor zakelijke evenementen.

Furniture and design of the rooms is quite outdated but clean. Breakfast is very good. The choice of the buffet is very large.

One of those hotels where you ask yourself if the owners ever bother trying to stay in their own hotel themselves. The room was nice and clean, but the airco/heater is unbelievably loud. You wouldn't tolerate such a loud device even in a workplace, let alone a bedroom! So make your choice: get a good night's sleep, or have a warm room. Also, a drop of oil on screaming door hinges is said to work miracles. Maintenance (or the lack thereof) is the keyword here. I got the impression that the yet unrenovated rooms receive little or no care while waiting for their turn to be renovated. The restaurant is Ok and cozy, the waiters could be more reliable (forgotten orders for drinks. ). The food lives up to VdV reputation and was quite good. Pros: Very friendly staff, free Wi-Fi, ample (paid) parking available, good restaurant. Cons: Management is out of touch with their rooms, while this should be the core business of a hotel. No attention to detail. My recommendation: Ok for a night, look somewhere else for longer stays.

Very good experience. We have especially enjoyed the restaurant, particularly for the breakfast. Take the bus 24 to go to the center.

Very unfriendly staff, they make you feel like they are paying you to eat there. The food is not good at all for the prices. The coffee was ok though!

Good location Very convenient location to take a step out of the highway and close to a tram line. A little lost if you want to enjoy the joys of downtown at night.

Excellent service. Relaxing, and apealing atmosphere! This hotel seems well run, and well managed. The personel at front desk, bar and restaurant are welcoming and servic minded. However, the burge I order at the at restaurant had far too much bbq dressing on it! It was close to uneatable. An the burger itself was raw in the middle. Probably a one time event. All in all a great stay at a great hotel!

Nice hotel, not much within walking distance but the public transit is near and will get you downtown quickly. The water in the shower didn't stay a constant temperature and varied between hot and lukewarm which was annoying.

Only been to the restaurant, but I can say the food and staff are nice. Lovely interior design. Good food and nice buffets on Saturday.

Very nice. Clean and spacious room, indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam and impeccable gymnasium. Third stay at the hotel and nothing to say about negative. Small flat not enough staff who speaks French my I managed to make myself understood without any problems. Staff very friendly and very nice too.
Breakfast with everything you need and very fresh. Restaurant (I took the buffet a will) really very good with a lot of choice. Two adults and two children stay.

— the connection with the tram in the old town is ideal. The line 24 departs every 10 minutes to the old town. Tickets it went to the front Desk
— the car can be parked free of charge for the duration of the stay in "holiday"

Overall, it was a very nice stay at Van der Valk Hotel. We will book this hotel chain in the future more often.

Good price/performance ratio, the best coffee ever served in a Hotel.

I have stayed whole week for business conference in superior room. Room is clean, the bathroom is nice and tidy. There is place for renovation in many aspects, but I would like to express my highest appreciation on level of customer service of all your staff. From the very moment of check in Sunday evening to my check out Sunday morning. I remember Jules at the Reception desk, but also all of his colleagues, all waitresses, custodians, everyone… Your team is young but educated and trully devoted to their work. I have traveled a lot for business and pleasure, and Van der Valk Hotel staff is on top of my list together with W on Times Square staff. Very nice hotel, value for money at the top. The breakfast buffet is gargantuan with cava, smoked salmon, juice pressed, … the beef tartare prepared in front of you, the welcoming bar, free parking, staff smiles. Thank you.

Beware. It was advertised to me on the website that I would pay only 89 euro. I ended up having to pay 123.89 euro on leaving. I chose the cheapest option on the menu for dinner which was a 19.50euro bolognese. They also charged me 11 euro for parking and lumped city tax and tips onto my bill as well. Too many hidden expenses that are unknown until arrival. Sneaky.

Great value for money…. Only paid €53 on a Sat night after Easter. Rooms looked better in the flesh…. Very clean. Breakfast buffet was also really good value and hotel even had a pool — which we sadly didn't have time to use. Only extra cost was parking €11/ day, but there is parking on the road. Just didn't want to leave our fully packed car too far out of sight. I think building on the outside makes hotel look less appealing than it is. Its' not a designer hotel but very clean and safe and definitely good value for money.

Overall, the Scandic in Antwerp is acceptable. The room is clean and facilities are clean, although, it seems many things could use updating (elevators and rooms). The breakfast is very good; a lot of choices and fresh ingredients. The main two issues that I ran into were that in getting laundry done, the laundry service is slow (drop off before 9am, receive next day at 6pm), and they did not deliver it to my room, so I was left to ask at the front desk. The other main issue is that the Wi-Fi was a little spotty; there are many times that it seems to kick your device off its network (I'm unsure if it's timing based or not? ) without any warning. In my opinion, it's not the best, but it's not the worst.

It is true, from the outside it doesn't look that nice. Inside however it is nice and clean. People at the reception are friendly and helpful. The room was fairly large and in good conditions. Nice large bathroom. Only minus is the missing LCD TV (thinking of the space you gain and how cheap they are right now). If possible take a room with an odd number, it should be facing away from the highway. On the evens you may hear a little noise from it. Also it is recommendable to go for higher than first floor, we did hear the chairs moving from the breakfast room. The breakfast itself is good, there is sufficient choice and fresh yogurt and fruit. There is also a swimming pool inside, tiny but clean. The location itself is a little outside the city center, there is the tram 24 heading toward it. Get off after you cross over the large highway. If you want to do some walking, you can go once by foot and discover the area. More often I wouldn't recommend as it is quite a walk (best in morning).
