A good time, royal for a long or small stay. Clean.

They gave me a different room than I've paid for and they don't want to change because I've used the bathroom. I've paid for one room and I will have to stay 3 days in the worst room I've ever stayed.

Nice accomodation and service. And good food too!

Rooms We booked 2 triple rooms. One of them was fine. The one on floor D was soooo tiny for 3 people. NO hangers, no wardrobe. We had to leave clothe in the suitcases during the four days of the stay! : ( Breakfast -everyday the same menu +quick replace of food.

The hotel is conveniently located. 24hours front desk. Suitable for families as well as groups of individuals. I stayed in a room for six. Very clean and comfortable. I would have given 5 stars if not for the limited choice of breakfast and the cleanliness of the common kitchen. There was no eggs and the same foods were served daily during my 9 nights stay. I would stay again for all the other good reasons. Hope to see improvement though! Thank you!

Friendly staff, good breakfast, very good location. Clean and comfortable bedsheets. Clean room and bathroom. The size of the room and especially the bathroom is small but acceptable. The shower is very small… The window can only be tilted, not opened. In hot days it is not really possible to cool down the room through the window, and the air-condition is noisy so you want to turn it off for the night.

Great for a short stay. The dorm room was comfortable and safe. Not as centrally located as a lot of other hostels but it's a nice place to spend some time. It's the only bright red building on the block so very easy to spot. However there are apparently two meininger in the area at close vicinity so make sure you are headed to the right one.

As far as hostels go, this is really upscale. The beds are decent. There are lockers under every bed. Public kitchen, vending machines, eating area, game area, bar etc. There is a washing machine and dryer. Nice separate bathroom and shower in every room. Staff are really friendly. One downside is that there's no A/C, so if it's hot out, it won't cool down until 2-3 in the morning. I'd definitely stay there again.

The best that can be found for this money (in some cases and more expensive) in the center. There is a parking lot, but expensive, because it is a center. Free (if you only sleep) until 6am. Next 2 with a trifle per hour. And there are no parking meters in Vienna. But solve this riddle yourself. ;) You can ask the locals… they are sociable and even help (spending their personal time). And it's not ironic.

The room for 4 people is big enough to acommodate the guests and is very organized. The lockers inside the room are not very big and you should bring a padlock for them. There is, tho, a locker on the reception that can be used for big baggage (not the safest option). The bathroom is clean but runs out of paper towels fast. The breakfast is simple, but good (it does not have a big variety of food for lactose intolerant people). If you want to eat at the hostel, there are only 3 options (muffin, sandwich and yogurt). It is next to the subway and the bus lines, so the location is very good. The staff is good and very polite.

I'm actually impressed by this hotel, it looks good and it lives good, the staff are very friendly and the apartments are good enough to near great. There's a small shared room on the ground floor where you can actually cook yourself. There are alcoholic beverages present and there's a lovely breakfast every morning, which really gives you a nice welcoming feel. In short, I would recommend Meiniger Hotels.

We went with family and with a little girl and we had a super enjoyable stay. Clean, well-located, cosy… Family atmosphere and quiet. Highly recommended.

Decent hotel. Not central, but well connected with the U4 and U2. It has a pretty expensive little parking lot. A short distance away is a very comfortable and ample car park called APCOA.

Location of this hostel is good. About a 10 minute walk to the metro. Supermarket is just down the road. Rooms are nice. Power sockets are everywhere. Ensuite facilities are great. Air-conditioning for our room was a bit weak but not sure if that is every room. Service is good. All staff speak English and are very helpful.

Very central. It is very fast in the city centre or on the Danube. The hotel itself was quite okay.

Good rooms, reasonable prices in the 2nd district near the city Centre. If possible, book an underground parking lot.

I liked everything! The concept of Hotel with the sum of the benefits of a hostel. Always with good transport nearby. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

This hotel sucks! The beds are full of hairs (even pubic) in general and all dirty (like the walls) and the window is openable are in the limelight. Sucks.

Great budget hotel. Filmed in March 2018 4 local number. Buffet in the morning is normal: slicing sausages, ham, cheese, vegetables, yogurts, fruits, cereals, muesli, tea, coffee, cocoa. The furniture in the rooms and the plumbing is in good condition. TV Cable, Wi-Fi. We liked it. All the sights of Vienna are within walking distance, center, Augarten, Danube. Not far from the tram.

Great place, spacious room. Only con is that there is only one laundry machine for 100+ guests, so prepare to be in a long line of waiting or no laundry at all, and distant from city centre. The room and shower was amazing tho, unless you get a bed right next to bathroom door because then you’ll wake up everytime someone goes to the bathroom at night.

The hotel offers decent facilities and a good breakfast for the reasonable price for shared rooms. The single and twin rooms are nice and large enough.
During peak hours there are waiting times during breakfast and at the lift. The breakfast buffet is always replenished.
The location of the hotel is Convenient.

I love the Meininger chain of hotels, always clean and stylish. This is one of their newer locations and honestly one of the best that I've stayed in. I occupied a shared dorm style room and was impressed by the amount of privacy offered in a shared space.

Room was spacious. Very clean. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Very good value for money. I recommend.

Good hotel. The hole is very cozy and warm, has a good perfume and is also very clean. The room was clean enough and the view was not bad. The bathroom smelled a bit like pee… lacking in the soap to wash your hands we had to ask. The breakfast was nothing special very meager and most of the food was cold even at 7 am now when the kitchen opens. All in all the room was not bad for the cost, the staff were very courteous and helpful. Another small problem is that in the hallways there is always a stink from old/damp.

Excellent value for money clean, modern, good location breakfast (costs extra, 01/2018 6, €90) serves all the performances more or less, but is more than adequate for the price. Only vegan is not allowed to live;-) All in all highly recommended! I will stay there again.

Cheap Hotel near Vienna city. Clean and spacious rooms (double rooms). The breakfast room has a rather Jugendherbergs atmosphere, but it was neat and tastefully good.
However, the parking situation is rather poor. The underground garage was booked out, in the streets around the hotel parking only for residents and a public car park 10 minutes walk away. Important: Speak to the reception before parking. There is a cooperation for a special tariff.

My advice: Ask for a room far away from the elevator, because the beeping goes through the door! Room and breakfast perfectly adequate if you don't need luxury.

Very spacious rooms with lots of facilities. Nice staff and interesting location. Only flaw but important is the food… From Italian I have seen better, but even worse.

It's quite new and has many shared areas that help you save in such an expensive city plus it has a supermarket nearby with good prices and variety, the bad thing is that they don't fix the room they just go in to dump the trash of the trash but if there are baunites on it nor do they look at them either tend the beds! the staff is divided some were friendly others really disgusting.

I stayed in several hotels this chain in different countries. I liked the experience. The staff usually speaks at least four languages and are quite friendly. It is not a luxury hotel but the facilities are good and there is good maintenance. They rent bikes, they sell you packed lunches, they store your luggage, they have option to late check in. Actually, for the price, it's totally worth it. I could stay here again.

It is a very decent hotel, for little money (it is out of season on the other hand) quite close to the centre and tram. The room was clean and the staff nice.

Great hotel in 10-15 minutes walk to the center of Vienna. The rooms are cozy but not very clean. Breakfast "Porridge". Excellent underground parking, however in the season of the place is better to book for earlier since its area is calculated on 8-10 cars. The staff is polite. The price-quality seems to be one of the best in Vienna.

A budget hotel with a lot of cleanliness. It was a big surprise to me for its simplicity and style. Breakfast was very good. Highly recommended. The metro station is 4 blocks away and is very close to the center.

The breakfast is great! The rooms look appealing and are well-shot. The separate kitchen in the entrance area is a very good idea. The WLAN works well and otherwise everything is very straightforward.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is close to the underground station and you can also reach the center of the city on foot rather quickly. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet as it was rich and continuously replenished. We also had the possibility to book a taxi to the airport at the reception the day before departure, without extra charging. A really good experience.

The "hotel" in general is modern and clean but leaves a lot to be desired. While we stay in a quadruple room with private bathroom, the place itself is a hostel (with shared kitchen in the lobby, dormitories, etc). Therefore, the service in the rooms leaves much to be desired: the daily cleaning only consisted of stretching the cover of two beds (two always remained undone) and nothing more, in fact for New Year there was a problem with the towels and we had to use hand towels. If you are looking for a hostel I think is a good option, but if you are looking for a hotel you better not book here. It should be noted that the location is comfortable.

Rooms are clean and tidy, is the nearby traffic is not very convenient, walking to the subway station takes about 10 minutes.

Quite a nice hotel in a good location. It's not too far out from the main center but s also far out enough to be relatively quiet. If you are planning on staying in a dorm here I suggest the 6 bed as opposed to the 4 bed as it was quite cramped. Other than that I had a very enjoyable stay.

Great hotel within walking distance of public transport and the city centre. I spent only one night with my family and enjoyed it very much. Bright rooms, furnished in a modern style. One of the cheaper ways to stay with the whole family in Vienna. Room was very large and spartan furnished. There are also a few meters to run to the nearest subway station, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. The Augarten, with its eye-catching battle tower, is within walking distance.

Good food The first few days, towards the last, No. The rooms are very nice and clean. On the other hand, you can mess around the hall late. The location is good, 15 minutes walk to the center. Very nice staff Availability to play billiard and soccer.

I stayed in this hotel with my friend for a couple of days. And it was amazing. First of all, the service is really good. The receptionists were really cheerful and helpful. They gave us a lot of advice on places to visit and cheap restaurants to go to. Secondly, the hotel is perfectly clean, almost everything is provided. Rooms were tidy. I had the chance to have interesting roommates, and meet people from all over the world either in the kitchen or the reception. And finally, you can't find better location. The hotel is in the heart of Vienna, few minutes walking from the downtown and subway /tram station. This hotel was perfect I really loved it. I already tried Meinenger hotel in London, and I'd say that Vienna's one is as good or even better.

I had high hopes for this hostel when I got there but it became apparent that it was lacking in some very basic ways. We had a massive heat wave come through so of course the entire hostel was unbearable warm. Sadly their windows did not fully open so there was no way to actually vent the rooms. And only a limited number of fans were available, but without an open window it just swirled the hot air. The kitchen was FILTHY! Garbage was overflowing and spilling out, fruit flies hovering around, and dishes piled up. The worst thing was that the kitchen is 4 meters from the front desk! So no enforcement from staff whatsoever to improve the situation.

Nice clean hotel. Inventory looked pretty new. Breakfast were good with fine selection and quickly refilled if anything were missing. Friendly and helpful staff at the reception. We liked the opportunity to rent a parking lot in the basement so we had a safe place for our car. The hotel is in walking distance of the town center and otherwise theres a Metro-station close by. We had a pleasant stay and would like to stay at the hotel again, should we return to Wien.

Enjoyed our stay in this hotel. I booked this for a sports group attending competition. Staff speak English and are friendly and helpful. If you are English and like a cuppa I suggest taking a travel kettle as there are no tea making facilities in the room and 2euros for a small cup is a bit over the top as I drink it by the gallon and we didn't have a good experience with a food order but if you just want somewhere to sleep and be comfortable then this is a good, reasonable priced hotel with a friendly atmosphere.

Mattresses really hard … For the towels you have to pay and equal to be making beds.
You also have to clean the table from if after meals. The glasses are too small (0, 1) and during my stay I had to wait for additional water during dinner since she was taken only a jug of water for the whole room.
Poor and poorly cooked foods (pasta cooked, almost a super gross).
You cannot open normally the window to ventilate or to cool the room. The window will open only one door and flips.

Rooms very small for 4 people big enough (sports). Furthermore the absence of any service, such as towels towels and room cleaning surcharge. Poor enough food, selfservice with an inconvenience only. Also the Windows don't open normally and the bathroom fan is not working, if I make the crap, the roommates are screwed.
Booked by the travel agency had not informed enough. Says "hotel" deserves defining hostel maybe, at least if booked a hostel I knew what I was getting into.
The Austria is famous for smoking just about everywhere, I say no smoking in the rooms, but at least one dedicated space without having to go out on the street. Found undefined insects that roam the rooms (also read in previous reviews). It was better in the heights of buttrio decidedly (great place).

Small rooms and on arrival the bathrooms had no towels, which were paid. Staff costs 10 euros and inter alia staff stole the card of the baths of grado which we were using to make the lights won't shut off. Poor food and service in general extremely inconsistent, since the glasses are from 0.1 and you have to get up every 5 minutes to fill it every time. Far from the Centre and services. Very firm mattresses. Very bad.

Am very disappointed in the hotel. It was extremely cold in the room. A small radiator in the bathroom, which almost all the time was cold. Otherwise, no heating in the room. Signed on the front desk, that room is not heated. But still cold. My child got a cold. Otherwise, I have to say that it is a better youth hostel than a hotel. Very loud at night, because a large group of young people in the hotel. After their departure, but quiet.

Imagine you are asleep in your room, and at midnight someone opens the door and turns on the lights! I am still trembling. The brilliant young man at the desk used his pass key because some woman said she had forgotten hers! What about a phone call? A knock before entering? How did HE make that mistake? Shouldn't he have checked before assuming? I am simply astonished (and still shaking).

Great hotel for its price tag. Rooms are big enough and very clean. Breakfast was good and staff is very helpful and attentive. Location is great, it's relatively close to a subway and bus stations. We enjoyed staying here very much.

Beautiful hotel, location was excellent with a lot of public transport connections. Good pricing for breakfast and good value for money. Front desk staff were all very helpful when it comes to tourist information and that is something I look for in each and every hotel. After check out they allowed us to leave our luggages in a separate luggage room so we can enjoy the rest of our last day! The price is quite cheap for all the things they offer. It was for sure a pleasant stay at MEININGER Hotel Wien Downtown Franz and would surely visit again!

The staff was really helpful and polite, the location is great and the hotel was quiet and clean. The only drawback is the shared refridgerator — it was a bit messy and we couldn't find our food, but I understand that this is not the staff's fault. I can definitely reccomend it. :)

We stayed two nights in this hotel and everything was good. The room was clean even if a little bit small but however it was very comfortable. The breakfast was great, there was everything! They allow us to leave our baggage in a luggage room for free after check out. The price was quite cheap. The hotel is near to Rossauer Lande station (green line) and just two stops from Shwedenplatz station, where there are a lots of pubs and restorants but also the main street full of shops.

I has a really good experience with Meninger. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was really nice. While my stay there was a Pancake party thst was awsome. The breakfast was very good!

Concrete finish in rooms although comfortable and attractive. Outstanding price at 60 euros for a triple room. Breakfast good value. Initial concern over noisy youths unfounded. Good family hotel, 7 minutes from ringstrasse. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was terrible, a lot of people, therefore constantly empty bowls, and Co, no warm milk, and in the night is very loud.

After a smooth communication beforehand and a warm Welcome on arrival, we were on our rented room, very pleasantly surprised. Great facility and a climate-plant it at the temperatures made possible by being able to sleep. By and By, a great stay. Thank you!

Everything was OK except for the room's ventilation. The air conditioning was off during the night and the room was very hot and humid which made our stay unconfortable. The ventilation didn't work on our first night and was very weak on the second. We slept poorly waking up very sweaty. The top bunk beds were especially hot with little air flow. The room was clean, the kitchen was useful and everything else was fine.

I was in a 4-bed room dorm. The room was too hot and humid. The first night the AC was not working, however one of the staff was kind enough to lend me a table fan. In addition, two beds are connected like a double bed. This means that you may have to sleep close to a stranger! Have been to many hostels around europe never seen two beds connected in a dorm! The breakfast was not enough, I had to fill my stomach on cereal.

I would give a higher rating for my stay here in Vienna, the staffs are actually friendly and the facilities are great. However, as you can see from the my review title, my friend and I were bitten by the bed bugs. It is a HUGE let down when we reported to the staff because no actions were taken and they didn't seem to think this is a serious issue. We receive no apology nor compensation from them. For the rest of journey, we have to deal with the horrible bite marks and extreme itchiness all over our body, especially in this summer heat. I would not take the risk to stay here.

It is a very beautiful place with all comfortables and good humor sense! Wi-Fi and breakfast are good too.

It was a nice stay, but there was no AIR Condition and it was really very very bad. The room was clean but we can't breathe. Too hot! The Hotel has perfect Location — the subway is close by.

Big hostel, optimized like a hotel, clean and very comfortable. Showers and beds rock. Wifi sucks though, slow speed and cumbersome login process.

Lived two days in quadruple room on the top floor. Cozy, clean, friendly staff. Throw in the rain umbrellas on bail. You can also extend the time of departure. Hot breakfast. Located on the street, on which you can quickly reach the main beauties of Vienna:-)

Starting with expectations of a hostel, this place really excels! They nickel and dime you a bit, but its kind of like opting into cheaper accomodations if you don't want those other items. Breakfast was awful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were perfect. Had my own toilet and shower and desk to work from. Very affordable, very clean, very safe all around. I'm looking for a Meininger first when I travel and if there is one, I book it.
