Rooms beautiful but small, quite noisy, road traffic clearly audible. The first thing I saw new newly renovated room was a moth — after complaint at the reception, there still hasn't been an answer after an hour, on demand I was told that can be impossible and have come through the open window The window has to be and should be there for a long time. In the morning at 3/4 7 with loud construction site woes from the hotel coming — stopped until I left the hotel 1 h later. Never guaranteed again!

The Lobby and Reception is very successful and looks classy! The Staff always helpful and courteous. The Bar at the top is just fantastic and the Cocktails have always tasted great to me.
The Page at the Entrance has always been very friendly — kudos!

The breakfast service was completely unsatisfactory. Long waits and inadequate supply. Hygienically just as inadequate (if you want to eat a bun — a brew), you have to touch all the other parts by hand!.
Normal coffee — misrepresentation.

View top. Operation slow. Were breakfast there. What shall I say. The coffee was served after 10 minutes. Far too little coffee in the cup. After 15 minutes, the rest was served. Is probably obvious, so that you order a cup of coffee, because you usually want to enjoy your coffee together with breakfast. The food little and expensive. In my opinion, a breakfast for super-slim which might get full. What a pity. We were 4 people. There were 2 bread baskets with different sizes of the breadcrumbs. My sister and cousin had big cakes. My mum and I got the little cakes. Jams there were 4 pieces into small glasses. In itself quite nice but we had no idea what jams there were all the same color. My cousin had to give up because she has an allergy to strawberries. We paid over 80 euros. I find at the price far too expensive for what I get. Too bad for money. With any baker, it would have been better. Actually, we were all 4 disappointed and upset. Around the price I also expect a breakfast where I go out full.

Beautiful view, that was. Ice cafe was served in a jar, with no subtenant and no tray, no glass of water but with a spoonful of getting used to … A glass of water I got after asking for once after 20 minutes, fire for cigarettes not possible, I then buy one in the trafik itself and drove up again, soda lemon was lemon soda … Conclusion: Service staff was so much I just saw three, the terrace well visited but not full … Personnel, in my opinion, was not trained service personnel … or just overwhelmed, and please serve the ice cafe in the future as you are used to in Salzburg!

After extensive restoration work, it has now reopened. In summer we will enjoy the fantastic view from up here in the evening on the roof terrace with a drink.

Newly refurbished. Friendly staff. Good amenities. Strategic location in the Old town.

Basically, the stone terrace in Salzburg is a secret tip. Only in our visit was it a case. The staff seemed to be overtaxed and Unkoordinert. Also the prices are anything but "usually" 2 fl. 0, 3l "the white" and 2 splashes white €19, — I find coated. The view over the old town of Salzburg seems to be paid for.

At any time again! Very stylish, clean and cosy room, great shower with high quality shower & Shampoo & Conditioner. Super comfortable bed for a dream bedroom. Very quiet in the rooms because everything is very well sealed. A big compliment to the whole Hotel very beautiful lighting concepts & interiors. The Hotel is in a perfect location. The roof terrace is just awesome!

The restaurant is good (I did not test the hotel), but for the price, the dishes are not very copious. Which does not change the taste of course. We feel that the prices include the view from the terrace, beautiful if you are on the edge, a bit spoiled if you are in the center.

Nice view, expensive (eg. Tea 6€), super slow service.

Bar on the 7th floor: New and cool designed location. The very high price level does not meet the staff who are visibly only in the learning in any way. Organisational gaps dominate the start-up operation. It remains to be seen whether the quality of the service will rise to the price level or an overpriced restaurant.

On Thursday 1 March 2018 again open with nice ambiance and newly designed roof terrace!

Hotel Stein in Salzburg is currently being rebuilt. The restoration of the frescoes is particularly gratifying. Congratulations and thank you.

Roof top Bar, a perfect location for a summer drink with a perfect sight to "Festung" and the city of Salzburg.

The view from the stone Terrace is breathtaking! Not for nothing would this location be used for Hollywood productions like Knight and Day. The prices are a bit high, but the cocktails and long drinks are very good. Young, dynamic staff, very polite but personally served. At the moment the rooftop bar is not closed for renovation, but from 2018 should start again.

This hotel was being renovated the last time we passed but it did have the best roof terrace bar in Salzburg. Hopefully it will be even better soon.

I cannot comment on the quality of the Hotel, I have never been a guest there. I did however visit the roof terrace a few times. That terrace and the views from it are certainly something else. It is one of the best places to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the city of Salzburg. Hotel Stein is extremely centrally located and almost ideal for a rest during a busy shopping or sightseeing day. It is usually quite busy up there, of course one would be tempted to say. Staff are professional, food served on the terrace is ok but selection is very limited. I do need to warn you (and subtract a star) for the prices charged. I understand it is a prime location, I understand Salzburg is an expensive place all around, I understand it is one of the places one goes to see and be seen, but all that does not warrant such pricing.

Good view to the castle, besides this, was a broken drawer in our room no body fixed it from day one we reported, no carpets, Wi-Fi is awful! We needed to stay next to room door just to have 1/4 Wi-Fi reception.

The room was not cleaned. Towels. Every day. New. Breakfast… as in a Pension. 2 times… because. Now. No more. In all. The staff nice.

I was at the time of booking skeptical since I großtelos in advance of negative reviews I read. Upon arrival we were very friendly at the front Desk welcomes. An Upgrade to a Suit followed. The Siute was a dream: clean, large, plenty of cabinets, a marble bathroom. No nasty smells, as in many of the reviews described. On the Steintertasse we got in the evening, immediately a place at the "window", the Service was great, the view fabulous! The Etagérè at Breakfast was very well stocked — we needed until the evening no more food. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The Only Drawback: The Parking! The Mirabell-Garage is not far away, but if you are fully loaded, the way to the Hotel as cumbersome. Also, the Parking lot, despite the discounted Ticket is expensive.

The location is excellent the floor is to noisy there in no fridge in the room the staff are really helpful and kind.

The price will not make you happy (~7-10€ per glass of wine). But the view is amazing.

The comments should be distinguished maybe if it comes to the hotel or the restaurant. The hotel is super. Very nice and friendly staff. Very centrally located. What you want even more.

Magnificent looks over Salzburg's old town. Wide range of food and drinks. Poor service, operation need a feels like eternity.

On new year's Eve 2010 we (2 pairs) wanted to do something special and opted for the city of Salzburg decided and by making recommendations for the hotel Stein. So far so good:
We 4 people have reserved in November 2009 and 720, — € is paid in advance. (You can get a receipt or voucher, and if you can not participate due to certain reasons, so the money is also gone).
It's about 11 courses, with bad wine, beer, water, etc. It is included in the price.
Each course consists of approximately 1 small fork from a hint of anything. From approx. The 6th gear we ordered us tons of bread to, to achieve a kind of feeling of satiety. When other guests saw it, ran the friendly operations only with bread dishes to the tables. There was also no lookup, as seemingly every fork was accurately counted. And the end of the song: hungry in the new year, drunk by the liquor, wine, and to a few hundred euro relieved.
This review should warn anyone if he is thinking to spend new year's Eve in the trendy Hotel Stein.
