We travelled to the vibe Marysville after a week of conferences in Melbourne city. On approach the drive from Healesville to Marysville is spectacular, nothing less. The hotel is brand new having opened its doors in 2015 following the black Saturday bushfires that ravaged and laid waste to most of the community previously. The hotel was reasonable value, we paid $630 dollars for a two bed apartment (there were three of us in total) on the ground floor. Breakfast was not included in this price. Upon entering the room it smelled a little musty and the air con was switched off which made it very warm. However opening the windows a touch and putting the air on remedied that issue. Amenities are adequate, there is a swimming pool, gym and sauna, a restaurant and bar attached to the hotel and for everything else there at stores does up and down the main street. The pool however, whilst having sun lounges available could do with more table and chair seating. In total the pool area could accommodate Max 10 people without encroaching on personal space. The pool itself is a small lap pool about 20m long with two lanes. The room itself ticked the boxes of Things you'd expect, fresh towels, toiletries, robes, ironing board and iron. As we had an apartment (room 6) it also has a full working kitchen, table and chairs for 6, a lounge room and a laundry with washing machine and dryer which was useful. The hotel itself (as well as the town) altars to drive most of its business from ski season so this may explain why its a little quiet during the summer months. Room service was reasonably priced, the fridge had all of your basics stacked in. However my mum who was travelling with us ordered a brandy at reception to be sent to our room, she was advised that she would need to go to her room and order it from there on the phone which I though was a little odd, I understand it may be someone else who takes this order, however a good concierge will organise anything a guest desires without question. Also house keeping called at the door at 9am on the day after our arrival, whilst the young lady was very polite I explained we weren't long out of bed and as such hadn't used the towels etc and could she come back later. After our day out touring the local sights and vineyards we arrived back to the same apartment we had left. She never did come back. All in all I enjoyed my stay and I may be critical because I have just come from a week in the crown metropol, but honestly I would recommend this place to friends and family without hesitation, it's new, it's on a learning curve, but the staff are lovely and the clean and well maintained. Just one final bit of advice, bring your own bottle opener, the one in the room chips the bottles every time.
