Eric and Miro are the loviest hosts we have ever met. The room we stayed was so clean, comfortable and quiet. The artwork throughout the building is outstanding and a brilliant location. We will be back!

Tie the hair back if the person who makes the tartare sauce so we don't have to fish it out. doors that work with the key card for access hand rails on the steps so you don't roll your ankle using the staircases.

Tolarno Hotel is a very unique & wonderful place to stay.

We stayed at the Tolarno hotel for 2 nights while traveling through Melbourne. Initially we had booked the “piccolo” room which we were aware was the smallest of the rooms on offer. What we were not aware of was the extreme body odor smell that plagued the room, the moisture and sticky film that stained every wall in the small room, the lack of fly screens on the 2 minuscule windows, terribly finished fittings on all walls, and the mould prominent on almost every surface of the bathroom. Knowing we could not stand in the room let alone sleep in it without feeling uncomfortable, I opted to upgrade our room in hopes that this standard was a once off. Despite the next upgrade up being unavailable, I paid for the upgrade above that. The next room was spacious featuring a double and single bed, however, the lack of quality and standards followed. The cups and cutlery atop the minibar were sticky and stained, the balcony had no fly screen either, the ceiling fan in the room was caked in dust that dispersed every time the upstairs occupants stepped, and the bathroom was, again, filled with mould. This standard set by the hotel resulted in my parter and I feeling uncomfortable touching any surface in our room, wearing thongs in the shower, and just generally being dissatisfied with the atmosphere set by the hotel.

It is truly unique, wonderful place.

Very happy with my stay here. The hotel is close to public transport and quite a few great eateries. I had a lovely quiet room at the back of the hotel-even though I was under the stairs! A short walk to St Kilda beach-fabulous on a hot day in Melbourne! As for the staff-wonderful!

The room was quite small. Almost nothing was included. The air conditioner wasn't working. The water was shut off for over an hour. The shower was tiny and you had to constantly be at the ready to adjust the taps as it went from full cold to full hot at random intervals for the entire shower. Definitely a cheap place to stay but you get what you pay for. Staff were nice. And good location.

A fabulous hotel! The staff are amazing and friendly, and actually go out of their way to help u and make u feel welcome. Miira especially is one of the best who took care of me especially when cleaning staff were naughty once not cleaning my room properly. The hotel is gorgeous, beautiful an full of amazing high end art and my room had the best facilities including a little kitchen. Bed was sooo comfortable and heating was fabulous. Everything was lovely and clean.

Ten of us came here for a two day conference and it was an absolute blast. Let’s start from the beginning. I rang the day before about parking and got great advice (go to front desk and ask — $10 a day nearby). Room we worked in was funky and light with s good even temperature. Ability to use their data projector was helpful. Morning tea was great — mini muffins, fruit skewers, danishes etc. Lunch was wraps and California rolls. We also had dinner here which was fabulous. Service outstanding. Day two food was again great. Staff were always helpful with any issues that arose and we never felt like we were putting them out. Venue is centrally located in St Kilda and would be a great place to stay overnight to check out the wonders of the area or use as a base to explore other parts of Melbourne. Quiet considering it’s location. Artwork is fabulous. Will return and recommend to others.

A lovely warm eclectic hotel to bed down in after a hectic day flying in from Perth. The mini-bar a bonus! Would have received ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤ had the young man at reception been a little warmer in his welcome altho I would add that he was very professional. The young Japanese trainee"s shy smile and the art works on every wall mades it a cheery place to stay.

Super friendly staff. Awesome bar, good food, comfy bed, convenient location, easy access to transport, low cost… All around great choice!

I Loved this place! I stayed in suite 102 for a week and it was such a gorgeous little hideaway in the middle of bustling StKikda. The art, the location, the decor and awesome staff make this place a winner. The management are absolutely lovely and so are house keeping. The stairs were a little noisy on a few nights but not really a huge issue. I'll definitely be back again one day. Thank you. Donna.

This place is more like a hostel than a 4 star hotel. I was delayed coming into Melbourne, got to hotel just after 10 and it was closed! What “hotel” closes reception at 10! There was an after hours key lock box there but they never emailed me the code. Left out in the cold trying to find other accommodation. Super disappointed!

Nice place to stay. Parking is a bit of a pain though. You need to arrange a parking ticket every day and its a bit of a walk.

A classy vibe with music on a Sunday from 4pm and a must visit for the art work.

Clean, comfortable, and has an easy access to the tram (for commuters). It's also close to restaurants, cafes, and the beach.

Room nice include essentials. Staff really friendly & The breakfast was really delicious and affordable. I especially like the outstanding customer service Celena provided noticed I had soy milk with my tea and substituted the milk with my granola to soy as she realised this was what I had with my tea & did it based on observation. Great asset to your company.

Perfect location for a St. Kilda experience. Balcony room recommended for people watching on a summers night. Easy access to all of fitzroy st restaurants.

QUIRKY, BOUTIQUE IN FITZROY STREET This hotel is great if you are looking for something in the St Kilda area right in the middle of Fitzroy Street. Check in is easy and hassle free and the apartments are colorful and well decorated, the balcony rooms are fantastic for having a few drinks and seeing the sights of the bustling street. Downstairs is the bar and restaurant which is a great start off for pre drinks and starters before heading out. Rooms average from $130-200 per night, unfortunate there is only metered street parking, but is in a great location of cafes, restaurants and bars all in walking distance. Great hotel for a city bound staycation, or a girls weekend, or that special weekend getaway.

Really great room with everything you need including a nespresso machine. The only drawback is that there are no ground floor rooms, which is an issue if you have mobility impairment.

Hotel was ok, the night staff Sahil was very unprofessional, condescending and demonstrated the worst behaviour I have seen of a hospitality employee. Hotel management, please book this fellow in for some customer experience training.

I will never stay here again! Staff were so rude. I was harrased by the night shift receptionist to a point that I was compleatly insulted. The room was also poorly cleaned and there were ants. Do not waste your money!

Nice simple little room, no breakfast but have a kitchen. Good for back packers. Artistic at inside but at outside surrounded by pub and cafe, lot of drunk people and homeless.

I'd have had more privacy staying at my parents who previously had an open door policy. The hotel night manager knocked on our door no less than three times for "talking". Also a brutal and loud nuisance was had in the hallway at 3am between a guest and the hotel night manager as the hotel staff entered a couples room without knocking or any notification. I do not recommend this hotel — especially when I was there for a total of 9 hours; 8 of which was spent with a table against the door in fear the manager would enter our room, unannounced.

Not happy with service — on arrival advised the road and roads around would be closed the following day 'don't take your car from the carpark'. What we are from interstate and need the car. Took us 6 minutes to friends place and over one hour for return trip. Would have been nice to be advised prior to arrival. Requested the cobweb in bathroom be removed and maybe clean the sink in the kitchenette.

Did I miss a joke or something? How can this possibly ever be a 4* hotel? Its dirty, dated, noisy, lacking amenities and there is a halfway house next door whose guests harass anyone entering or leaving. I would genuinely class this as a hostel or 2* roadside motel.

Cant fault Tolarnos! Great rooms, great location, great staff. A totally relaxing place. Balcony rooms are the best. I live in Melbourne and find excuses to stay and wind down. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

I have stayed there twice now. And it feels like a home away from home the staff are amazing and so friendly and the art work and decor are just incredible I will definitely be back.
