Noisy and fittings dated. Decor below average. No food available.

Very clean, spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi and very friendly staff. It's approx a 10-15 minute walk to the tram intersection, however there are buses that run on the highway. A very nice place to stay! :)

This place needs to be shut down. Its disgusting in everyway. Rooms stink, Linen looks dirty. Shower was disgusting. Floors dirty. There was a old yogurt container ontop of curtains. The word MOIST was scribbled in texta all over the room. Meth heads were hanging around in carpark area. To put it simply it needs bulldozing.

This place was cheap and has free parking but that was the only positives. The room was dirty as were the towels and sheets. The lady at reception rang us three times in the day of our arrival asking whsn we would get there. I had said six, she rang at 6:15 and told us we hadn't showed up and she would give our room away.

Basic accommodation. Reminds me of a motel where you'd expect the Griswold family to stay! Bring your own internet though!

The absolute pits! Smelt like a chain smoker had lived there for ten years! The bed was a nightmare, massive dip in the centre, terrible for two people! Only good thing was they allowed us to escape before 6am in the morning without hassle. Wouldn’t recommend even if my life depended on it! The street is more comfortable and appealing then this motel!

Room was quite large with two beds, and air conditioning, small fridge, couch, table and chairs, radio with clock and kettle etc. Bathroom wasn't too bad. Room service could have been better, but not too bad. Biggest issue we had was with the key cards for the door, which frequently didn't work. Please note also the bar is not open for guests, however alcohol and other beverages and snacks can be purchased from reception. Washing machine is free to use for guests but dryer will cost you $2.20 per time, and it doesnt work very well. Overall a pleasing result I feel for the management at Essendon Motel.

My wife and two sons stayed in this hotel, they returned to me tormented and horrified. My son slept in a bed (used the electric blanket) riddled with urine which caused a skin condition which he still has five years later! Bathroom was infested with mould and cockroaches. My wife told me she complained about the urinated bed to the manager, she was abused and yelled at infront of my two sons! As well as having no access to towels or cups, they left the hotel traumatized. I would most definitely NOT recommended this motel to anyone!

On a very warm day/night the bed was made with a doona the size of a snowdrift. I asked for a cotton blanket but the staff member could not understand my request or pretended not to understand. The cold breakfast tray was delivered whilst I was out at a function. The milk for the cornflakes was not placed in the fridge and no butter was offered for the horrible white bread. I ate nothing and asked for a refund. It was grudgingly given. The room is larger than newer motels. The receptioniste agreed to phone a taxi for me as my phone was out of battery. I was woken at 7.30 by maintenance staff hammering outside the neighbouring unit. Find other accommodation.

Gone downhill… the place is actually dirty, filthy to be polite. Everything is dated and barely working. I've been using this motel for a number of years now but I think I'd rather pay a few dollars extra and enjoy clean and comfortable surrounds.

Really Really disappointed. Arrived at motel at 5pm … to be told that they had sold our BOOKED room as we had not answered their call… 4.38pm they called but as I was driving… I was unable to answer. Within 20 minutes they had given our room away. PLUS SIDE… we got a room with much nicer staff and motel that is heaps nicer looking WINNING!

One star is two too many! This place is a disgrace. My issues: 1. Waited 5 minutes for someone to come to reception 2. Went to iron shirt but board was ripped in half. Sought a replacement only to be told it had been broken for ages and no replacements! After pushing them took a dirty one from room next door which stank of cigarette smoke. 3. Carpet filthy. 4. All lights not working. 5. Aircon — part of cover missing. 6. One lonely coat hanger only. 7. Got home at 11pm looking forward to a cups. Alas, no cup in room so used glass. Double alas — not a single spoon in room. $120 for a night about 100 bucks too much. My advice — try somewhere else.

The hot water would be the only thing that works properly, the sliding doors do not work properly, the Wi-Fi is pointless because it's so slow, the toilet is like climbing Mount Everest it's that high, the shower screen does not even exist, the staff are friendly, everything is faulty. The microwave is pointless the TV is smaller then the future of this motel.

Cheap and cheerful accomodation. We should have investigated options with Air BnB though.

Property is dated 1960s. Cleanliness is very poor. Maintenance is very poor. Staff not very friendly. Access from a service road is not good at night. I can not believe that this place has 3 stars!

Would have been a lovely place in its day but now is run down, carpet filthy.

The staff was friendly, room was comfy and clean and the late check in service they provide was convenient.

Worst hotel ever! late check in, free Wi-Fi And guest laundry are only things good about this place. Depressing run down neglected rooms with not even a telephone in them or cups cutlery bowls or plates to eat anything off but they have microwaves a kettle and and iron and ironing board. 3 1/4 used toilet paper rolls 1 x shampoo and a tiny round soap for the shower in the bathrooms mostly all of the rooms had same broken or leaking showers that flood half bathroom floor no baths. Woke up two mornings In a row to find a big black spider using the shower. Smell coming from toilets was horrid. Every morning the male cleaner wouldn't even knock just enter our room without permission earlier than or at 9am which was probably the most shocking thing I found as I was laying naked ontop of blankets due to the hot weather and wasn't impressed! The receptions excuse for the cleaner entering without permission so early was that because check outs at 10 and they want to clean the room! Precisely so why is he entering rooms at 9am without knocking? The price climbed up $10-$20 per day as the rooms got worse. Sign out front says spa rooms and restaurant open every day which is used as a junk room or rumpus room for the receptionist baby!

Slept well quiet room, handy to transport. Rather dated, wasn't impressed that there was no cutlery or plates. Heated food in microwave but nothing to eat food on.

Not great. Staff were friendly and bed was comfortable but nothing else was positive. Fittings are very dated. Air conditioner was so loud it drowned out the jets from the air lane directly overhead. Coffee cups hadn't been washed. Shower cubicle full of mould. Bathroom chipped and rusting. You'll find a bigger TV in the headrest of a passenger jet. Very expensive considering what else is available. Charged extra for late checkout.

Makes Faulty Towers look like the Hilton. What a dive. Room smelt like stale cigarettes, shower screen missing just hinges where the door used to be, TV did not work. Demanded a refund after second room offered was just as bad. A refund was eventually but very very reluctantly provided by management. Refused to refund booking fee. Don't bother. Plenty of other quality Motor Inns nearby in Essendon.

It was a nice sleep after a long plane flight.

Close to amenities, friendly staff and proper arrangement for stay for small and large groups.

Worst motel we ever stayed in. There was not enough linen and for a family room it certainly lacked the family needs. Only good to stay for business.

I love the hotel I just wished that we could stay longer I loved it.

Most comfortable bed. Very soft with the softest white linens ever. Made me go out and buy new sheets for my own bed. Good and spacious facilities and the cleaners came in each night and did an excellent job restocking supplies, including the complimentaty cookies, and tidying the room. Ironing board and iron in the room was a convenience, as were the extra blankets. Dinner in the hotel bar was just ok and the wine selection was not great, but the service was very friendly. Long walk to closest train station, but not too far from a tram that can take you there. Super close to airport, but takes ages to get into the city.
