Room was absolutely disgusting, Stains on carpet and Blinds, the room was dusty and stunk, the toilet and shower was filthy and has not been cleaned. I didn’t end up staying the night and checked out at 11.30PM as I would rather sleep in my car.

No bin No teaspoons No extra blanket very dirty hotel. You get what you pay for.

Great place staff r nice tho the lift is a battle with the swipe card could use a better system but apart from that great place to stay luv the price off the single rooms.

Don’t really do reviews. But this place was that bad honestly. Do not come here had a stay for 2 nights, and easily the worst hotel in all aspects you could think of, if I wrote everything it would be an essay… reception staff were okay I guess asides from that everything else is horrible… Oh and parking cost is very expensive. As I said I genuinely don’t do reviews but I am writing this because I would feel guilty if I don’t. Its unfair for me to be quiet and other customers to come to this place and go through it. Avoid if you can.

This is the worst hotel room I've had the displeasure of staying in anywhere in the world. Well, not staying in actually, as I was so grossed out I actually checked out and found other accommodation. I booked a budget single room. I expected it to be small and basic but not filthy. I was worried before I even got to the room. I lift smelt like smoke, the corridor smelt stale and the carpet was putrid and actually had rubbish on it. … The door to the room was worn. The ceiling was covered in spider webs. Everything was dusty. The laminate cabinetry was worn and chipped in places. The walls had been drawn on with red texta. The carpet was stained and dirty. The blind had holes in it. The shower/WC was less than 0.5m2 and was mouldy. The sink was in the room and also unclean. No soap here. Worst of all was the built-in bed, which was butted up against the rooms the only window so the putrid window sill touched the mattress and bedding. This sill obviously hadn't been clean in months or years, it was so thick with dust and dirt. Situated level and right next to where you would lay your head, dust from the sill would easily be breathed in or even get on the unsuspecting sleeper. The bed was made poorly and there was a hair in the sheets. The base of the bed appeared to be coming apart. I got a refund for the second of my two-night booking.

Would not stay here again, tiny rooms, mediocre service, parking was a bit of nightmare, washing machines broken, no laundry powder available. No cutlery in rooms even though was studio style.

Reasonable price in such location. Staff are moderately good. Buffet stye breakfast is my favorite. Wifi access is limited only to member that they need to review as many other hotels provide free to all customers now. Single room might seem small for some though it fits me well. However, in comparing to the price, it is fine. No small size hand-towel in room. Normally, three or four different size towels are provided in others. Printing service needs to moderate to air-printing so that no email attachment to staff first be avoided.

+ Comfortable bed, nice sized tv, cheap accomodation $590 for 7 nights, close to public transport, reception is clean — Looks nothing like advertised online. Common areas such as Kitchen and Laundry are disgustingly dirty. Level 5 smelled like someone had been smoking marijuana whilst we have been staying here constantly. The restaurants food quality or menu isn’t that great. The lifts and all doors that require key access decides sometimes just not to work. 2-3km walks just to a local service station. Would recommend if you had the choice not to stay here, and on future visits to Melbourne we certainly won’t!.

This place suits me a Pensioner just fine — all I beed is a bed to sleep! It is perfectly clean and single and double Budget Rooms are excelkebt and well appointed and whole place is clean — spotless actually and staff are the best! Suits me fine Without Breakfree I would not be able to visit so many times Thanks heaps John.

I totally enjoyed my stay here. Was very peaceful, accommodating, and the staff and reception were excellent. I would definitely recommend this place. Facilities were excellent with all shops nearby parking $16 a night. But I had one nights parking as a bonus. Enjoyed my stay didn't want to leave the friendly maids and staff behind. Love the way they sent out optional invitations to the hotel events to my phone. A very clean place.

We had a fantastic weekend, our room had the most amazing view of the sunrise and the staff were lovely. The restaurant on premises also had great food and service and the bar staff made us delicious original cocktails from the top of their head. Room itself was perfect for what we needed, comfortable king bed and very reasonably priced.

We booked for 2 nights. Stuff was friendly and so helpful during the stay. There was some noise during the first night but wasn't a problem to move into another room and we got also an upgrade. Included breakfast was alright. Could be little bit more international but OK for included. Would book again.

Small rooms that need some repair. The walls had paint coming off of them and the rest of the room needed updating. We had a large group of people in who kept us up all night as they were out wandering the halls. I would have expected the hotel to send someone up to say something but no. Then I had a couple friends stop by with some dinner and they had to pay to come I as the parking for the hotel only allows for a 15 min visit. I didn't have a vehicle so they weren't taking any extra space by being there. Over all if they hadn't had the deal they did this would have been an even more poor reviy.

Room! Not at all worth it. Room was dirty, old not updated at all. Can't close the bathroom door not because it doesn't have a lock but simply can't close because it's old and broken. AC Ages old AC. Not even have a night lamp. Broken walls, floor old broken room. Not clean towels. Not even proper common amenities only shampoo and soap. Room smells like a thrift shop. Don't waste your money! Zero star from my side.

At 14 stations from the centre a very close bus takes you to Preston station 5 minutes plus half an hour to the center with the metro, (they call it tram), Internet in the room is paid, good LCD TV of 37 "with satellite channels NBC News, cinema, generalists, and radio but all in English, refrigerator, microwave and teapot. It's funny where the toilet is reserved. The shower is located, but it doesn't practically wet the toilet. A deserved approved taking into account quality/price.

Here is a picture I take just right now, 1 minute after I just checked in and entered this room. The floor is soooooo disgusting, it seems haven’t been vacuumed for thousands of years, and you can pretty much collect everything on the floor such as popcorn, outfit labels, plastic spoons and bottle lids, especially a huge mount of dust both on the floor and in every edges and corners of the room. Have gone downstairs to reception and asked for housekeeping, no one has come yet. Seating on the chair and waiting for housekeeping come to save my life just like an idiot, after a 7-hour — long driving. The staff in reception is helping, an extra star is just for her, thank her personally, but definitely don’t recommend this hotel/ motel/dustbin to anyone, even for those who are really on a budget just like me. Don’t take your health into risks, you’ll get something easily here especially if you are allergic to heavy dust. ☝

The cafe and the diner underneath make tasty food. The staff are welcoming. The air conditioner did not work, could not turn on — had to call maintainence every time. The window creates an ear drum piercing “whirrrrrr” when it’s windy. One elevator is broken. The room access cards work half the time. The place is very close to a tram line and also walking distance to a train. The hotel has a lot of amenities. 3/5

I stayed over a week and found the service really good. Always pleasant and polite and I was treated with respect, like being in London. Room was fine, I went cheapest option and it had what I needed. I would return. Great facilities on hand and good location! Slight odour in room though, like it was on a remote island.

Very friendly staff, very well priced and a good location that has easy access to the city via free shuttle buses. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice affordable hotel!

Nice quiet area close to train and high st shops. Room is tidy and clean with private toilet and shower and shared kitchen, I think it used to be students accommodation. Affordable fare compared to prices of other hotels around $175 for 3 nights. Wi-Fi not free but $5 a day, $20 a week. Car park not free. I smell smoke I think through toilet, other guests shouldn't be doing this or I suggest to hotel management to have a separate floor for those who do. Recommended.

It's all very old. The air conditioning makes noise like a tractor. They're cleaning badly.

I have never stayed in a more disgusting and filthy place in my life. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay at Break Free. My mattress was stained and not fit for a person to sleep on. Someone had vomited outside my room and it sat there for two days before someone came to clean it. My room constantly smells like smoke or greasy food from the kitchen. The kitchen is dirty and so stuffy, you don't even want to stand in it. The toilet was in the shower. Room is old and worn, with mould in it. The list goes on and on. Worst place I have ever stayed in!

Hotel quite far from downtown, staff attentive, professional and very friendly Liz helped me a lot to change my reservation, room mignon and bathroom microscopic but all clean and tidy.

Breakfast buffet pretty small and staff at the reception and cleaning ladies very rude.

Was after a budget room for the night and picked up an extra discount from the boxing day sale. Room wasn't much to write home about but it had everything you'd need, albeit in as small a space as possible (the toilet was in the shower! ) Location wasn't great, but there are plenty of decent restaurants and shops around. Complex is decent, got a pool and a fitness center. Staff were friendly. All in all a decent place. I opted for the budget 1 room, which doubles as a dorm during uni term. Great for a night stopover on the way through, but would consider the mantra next door or elsewhere for an extended stay (although you get all the same facilities for a fraction of the price, so…)

Affordable to people who are on a budget. I have stayed in a single bed room. The room has TV with the usual regular free channels. It has a mini fridge, a microwave oven and an electric kettle. A cup and a glass were supplied together with sachets of decaf, regular coffee, sugar and small tea bags. Fresh towel and the usual toiletries (shampoo and a soap) were also provided. The only problem I had was I can hear people's noises outside my room, that is in the hallway in front of my room. Occupants nearby whenever they slam their doors was really noisy and annoying. During my stay I had to experience 2 false fire alarms. Both instances did not tell us through the PA to evacuate or stay put though… I had to look down from window to see if people were evacuating outside, and there was none so I stayed in my room… still hotel security/reception/staff should have said something whilst the fire alarm was on. Anyways, if you are really on a budget, I recommend this place.

Great "Little" Spot. Yes rooms are small but extremely compact and efficent. Clean and tidy rooms. Centrally located in Melbourne and only a stones throw to anywhere. Definitely staying there again.

It was a pretty good stay. The staff were really friendly, and the room and facilities (pool and gym) were well kept. I wouldn't pre buy breakfast because it wasn't amazing, but it was convenient especially for the first day. The only problem with the room is that the bed size is quite short. I'm 165 cm and my toes touched the desk at the end of the bed. Overall a pleasant stay, and would come back.

I stayed in a room for one person, it has a single bed and yes, quite small you can say but also it's price. The bed is comfy, the room is clean, it has a microwave and a small fridge that is appreciated. The toilet is really small but is ok, enough for a quick shower. The hotel even has a swimming pool, sauna and a gym. Breakfree Bell City offers a lot for it's tiny price.

Our accomodation got cancelled on our way to Melbourne and they were so helpful in assisting us with getting a room and for under $50 a night, the room was nice. The beds are comfortable and each room has air conditioning, a tv, a fridge, kettle, phone and bathroom. You also get access to a sauna and swimming pool. The buffet wasn't the best, especially for $20 per person. I would stay here again, the view was quite gorgeous. The people at the service desk were extremely kind too.

Marcus and burton. A hidden gem. Found in Prahran, selling assorted men's, women's clothing. Glassware git ware. Fragrances and more. One of my favourite stores in Melbourne.

I stayed in there for 2 nights. It has got a good location for eat shops. Room was clean and fresh.

All staff very helpful and friendly. Yes it's a bit tired and in need of a bit of paint etc etc but room is adequate and clean, bed is large and comfy and the bathroom has a powerful shower and very hot water. The only downside at the minute is it's a fair distance to the city, solved with a myki travel card and it's raining and for me, cold! Oh and the A/Con/ heater is temperamental. Have reported it twice to reception staff and it has been rectified on both occasions, fingers crossed. Tomorrow is another day.

The actual venue is pretty good with a slight confusion with the signage, but the front desk staff was helpful. The restaurant looks good but food was a bit below average… Some catering staff in the meeting room area gave us a shock being pretty rude and was unwilling to help, the older female staff yelled at the younger female staff who was trying to fix the faulty code machine in front of us with a cranky look, which was totally unnecessary. Service? What service? … A big disappointment for our corporate event.

Great value accommodation. Good single rooms. Only have to take 1 tram all the way into the city.

Receiption puts you on hold and never calls back. Room and carpets is dirty. But it's my first time in Australia so maybe this is how the accommodate visitors.

Unfortunately the airconditioner didn't work, the toilet was disgusting. The double bed rooms are definetly smaller than shown in the pictures. Keys are super sensitive — needing to swipe several times to open elevator and rooms. Other than that it was an okay stay.

Rooms are bit small. If you like to save some money and room size doesn't matter then these rooms are good value for money. You get house keeping everyday. in addition, Wi-Fi is $5 (Australian) and car parking is $9. These are 24hrs charges.

The room was very small. But it is not the size. It's very poorly maintained. There are sharp edges in the bathroom from broken tiles, which was tapped up. Aircon was stuck on 30 degrees and controls were broken. Place was disgustingly dirty and mosquito was on bed. Check-in was easy and counter staff were friendly enough.

Nice neat and clean but small rooms. But gets the job done. Suitable for a quick night stay or even long term if you don't mind small room.

Horrible place. Some aggressive yobbos were on on shouting, screaming, slamming doors all night long. I was going to call police. The staff didn't care! What is that place?

Horrible motel will never stay again. Friend couldnt check in as he didnt have photo id. No spoons in room stiring tea with paddle pop stick. Room service a joke the guest has to go down and collect it. Breakfast horrible your given a plate and cutlery how ridiculous. Rooms too small feel boxed in. Only nice thing are the pillows. Wouldnt stay again or recommend anyone else too.

This hotel is the worst there is… The staff are mostly Indians who would argue with you till the cows come home. And they give you the damning look. If you stay long, more than 3 days, they tell you they make up the room only every second day after you make the complaint (as they won't tell you this when you check in). The first five nights we were interrupted by the room speakers twice saying that there was an emergency on a certain floor and they were investigating. Then 1 minute later they would come on the speakers again to say no action is taken. The kettle in the room looks rusty. And don't expect free bottle water. No free Wi-Fi. This is my last time at this hotel.

I have stayed here many times, great price, has parking even though there are several dumped cars there. My room on the 6 th floor was bigger than most and the bathroom was big. The whole plac need an update it is getting a little tired but the bed is comfortable. The wine in the restaurant was dreadful and the food was not much better. Will stay again but maybe eat somewhere else. I have always found staff great.

The Breakfree hotel is a last resort for anyone. The place is crawling with D. H. S and housing issued people. There are many international students trying to survive in Australia. Most of them, either study or have the hallways lit up with sounds and smells. The staff are all mostly incompetent and often make decisions unbecoming of a professional organisation. Hotel security are just former night club bouncers and are too afraid of the potential of prison to help anybody. Police have a regular patrol there and police are there usually 2 times per day. It is the Australian housing troubled people that form small gangs while smoking at the front door. They make claims of being underworld figures but yet they are all without courage or brains. I have emailed a current affair as the community should be aware it is a nesting ground for the savage. Some people come in genuine need and make a genuine use of the situation. It's not a 3 star hotel. I would look at 2 stars. Lifts sounds like they are going to break, lifts never work. No option for free Wi-Fi. You can pay for Wi-Fi but it's no good. Washing machines and dryers swallow coins. Kitchens are often out of order and the fire alarms go off once per day. The staff are mostly foreign working for residency so they are nice but they can sometimes fail to communicate properly. Or receive information in English correctly. Even though they have cameras they never check cameras. Your security is not assured at this hotel.

Hotel is aged. Lifts slow and in poor condition. Rooms are adequate and clean. Pool is outdoors and unheated. Food in the restaurant is pretty bad and there is very limited choice. There is a charge of 7$ for a day of parking. Wi-Fi in rooms 10$ for 1GB.

Quite far from the city. Tram 86 takes you to the city in about an hour +. Price reasonable. Clean as well.

Price/Performance is good. I went two times in this hotel and for the price and the location with a pool is it really good. Don't expect too much for the price. I would book my holidays in Melbourne (cheap holiday) again there. My tipp: book a double room, the single room is really small and only a little bit cheaper. Friendly staff and helpful.

Nice place with spacious and modern rooms, even the single studios. The experience is a bit let down by staff who don't understand you very well.

Absolute s**thole. Fobbed off with a crap room, refused to refund any money. Woken up at 1.30am by a tannoy message "we think there may be an emergency situation but were investigating" followed by "no no, there is no problem" all through the hotel. One of the staff rides a sports bike with a loud exhaust and thinks it's ok to leave it idling outside the hotel at 3am (very loud exhaust). There are a lot of guests who are long term, have zero consideration for anyone. As we were leaving, there were three police cars and a paramedic arriving and a lady in reception making a complaint about "last nights incident". A quick Google reveals a tourist was kidnapped, raped and tortured there for five weeks! Oh and the claims of pornographic films being made there. The only shining light is the absolutely awesome Asian girl who was running the restaurant, single handed. The decor is really shabby, the lifts don't work and it smells a bit. It's also in the middle of crack city, numerous needles on the floor outside. Absolute tip, do yourself a favour, pay a bit more and go elsewhere. Checked out on 23/01/16 thank god.

Absolutely TERRIBLE service in DISGUSTING accommodation. My wife and I were travelling around the country and decided to reserve a room at the BreakFree division of Bell City Hotels. Upon arrival, they refused to check us into our rooms on the basis that we had not paid (? ). After arguing with the reception staff, they check their system (finally! ) and immediately found they were wrong as we had booked our 2 week reservation via Expedia. They then refused to let us check in because they hadn't received the money when we had already paid for the full 2 weeks AND had the proof of purchase guaranteeing us accommodation. They said that they needed our credit card details or $100 dollars cash in order to let us stay in case we ordered room service. When I showed them the proof of purchase on my iPhone which says it comes with room service, minifridge and microwave, they said that I had not paid for that. THEN WHY DID IT SAY SO ON THE PROOF OF PURCHASE? They wanted my credit card to charge me if I ordered room service … OR $100 dollars cash? How does that make sense? If we don't give them a credit card we can give them a hundred bucks and order all the room service we want? Is that a proper business model? Anyway, we didn't want to waste any more time on our vacation, so I quickly gave them my Mastercard.

Stayed 4 nights in a twin room with my twin bro, we found it had enuf room, was clean, and close to public transport, for under $100 per night during AFL grand final week, can't complain at all.

This location has everything one might want for a business or study trip in Melbourne. My wife and I are staying for one week. There are great transport options to the city, the Chill Restaurant & Bar is really excellent, and the rooms while simple aren't missing much at all.

For $60 a night, this is probably the best deal in Melbourne. I stayed here for 5 nights. Note that the rooms are very small, and the toilet is placed inside the shower (obviously to save space, but I'm beginning to think is a stroke of genius). The room is surprisingly well appointed for the price (new cabinetry, microwave, micro fridge, TV with cable). As you'd expect, the hotel requires some TLC, and the single room mattress is wedged against the wall and, if you're tall, can be a bit awkward.

I have spent 2 weeks in May 2015 in a single room average about $55 — $60 per night. I can't say I loved the hotel but the reasons I gave it a 5 stars is because of the following : — fully functioning — budget, to be able to have a room with your own toilet/shower for this price, I don't think you can find it anywhere in Melb — 10-15 min walks to train 25min to city — 5 min walks to tram 45 min to city — great window view if they gave you one However, there are the following downside/issues : — have to stand next to the toilet bowl (lid closed of course) while taking shower, there is no window — no flexible shower head, the shower space is small, sometimes don't know where to stand to avoid the water for just a few seconds — smoking issue, this is the major problem I have with this hotel, there can always be people smoking in the room without being caught and the hotel staffs would not ask them to leave, only remind them to smoke outside. Also, one of the main reason is because the rooms are small so the smell of smokes can become more obvious. The only thing I have done eventually was to change room. — they have tobacco vending machine at the reception, this is just ironic when you are a hotel that claims to support smoke-free room — finally, it would be good if there is a clock/timer in the room.

Great value for money. We stayed for a week at Bell city. The room was clean and housekeeping was good. Train and Trum stations are very near. Lots of restaurants around. Staff is very friendly.

Cheap, clean, modern and great facilities like swimming pool. The bath tub has spa jets although its a regular bath. The views are pleasent and the staff helped with our booking issues.

Worst Hotel in the world.

This is a disgusting place, I have even stayed. That stupid magnetic key does not work and forces me to come back to the reception over and over again. I went there for sleep, not to get stress and wait outside of room over and over again. The reception was terrible, no curtsey, no apology at all. Disgusting! Never stay again.

On 19/2/2015 I checked in at this hotel, I sent my jacket for laundry at hoping that I will manage to collect it back on 21/2/2015 as I need to leave the hotel on that date. However when I checked out the receptionist I have been told that my laundry is not yet available and need to collect it on the next day which I couldn't do so. The female receptionist told me not to worry and claimed that the hotel will keep it safe. Few days after the occasion I gave a call back to the hotel and again I have been told the same which my laundry is not yet available.

Distressful, pathetic and incompetent stuff. Failed to resolve their own mistake and the only form of a conversion from their end was, "um ah have you looked at the terms and conditions of the booking" I have lodged a formal complaint to the appropriate authorities and it has become clear to me why as per previous reviews Sleep and Go has such a low approval rating. Stay away from the place.

Honestly it was an absolute nightmare that I would not wish upon my worst enemy! there were someones pubic hairs in the bed, all stains on the above bed head that was obviously cum that had been ejaculated there! also all skidmarks on the toilet bowl from the previous guests that had dropped a big turd! all night we could hear screams and moans from the room next to us which had 2 old men staying in it who were obviously gay. Absolutely disgusting and highly disturbing. And to top it all off we had organised a late check out and had gone out of the motel to have breakfast at a near bye café only to return to find all our belongings left in a pile at reception as management had entered our room and got all our stuff and ejected it outside. You think it could not get any worse but on arrival to our car only to discover that it had been broken into and stolen some belongings and had a spootsza in the car and just left the dirty syringe on the seat. Appalling absolutely disgusting and the whole building should be condemned.

Really disappointed non-contractual room compared photos that I had book, pool dirty sheet 5 cm in the background! bathroom old and shabby! for the price abuse.

Lowest priced accom I could find that had a pool and other facilities. Had a lot of fun here.

My Boyfriend and I stayed here as I was competing in a beauty pageant in Melbourne. The location was very convenient and so was the parking. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful! The room was quite small, but we used that to our advantage as we knew we wouldn't leave anything behind! Lots of TV channels and the bed was very comfortable. Heater worked perfectly and the shower was great too! Enjoyed a tea and coffee from the facilities provided. Absolutely great quality for the price! Stayed 14th-17th of June 2013 at only $89 a night.

After reading the reviews online we were slightly worried about this place. We expected the worst, but upon arrival, the room was spotless. The bed was freshly made and comfortable. Bathroom was clean and the toilet and shower were separate. We had a great view out the huge windows. The TV was a bit on the old side and had no working remote, and our bathroom light seemed to be incorrectly fitted or something and blew the fuse which turned off all the lights in the room, but a quick call to reception fixed that up in minutes. We stayed on the fifth floor, well above the student accommodation levels. We ordered room service from the hotel restaurant (JD's Bar and Grill). The food was terrible and we had trouble getting through it. Close to train and tram stops. Would stay again.
