Brickendon Estate was the perfect venue for our wedding. We worked with Eliza and she was beyond amazing, nothing was an issue and she was there to make sure every part of the day ran smoothly. All our questions were answered quickly, nothing was too hard and we just can't recommend Brickendon Estate enough. Us and some of our guests stayed in the cottages and these were perfect, roaring fires, breakfast provisions and comfy beds, this made for a perfect start and end to our wedding. Thank you doesn't seem enough, Craig and I feel we made the best choice and will always recommend Brickendon Estate to others.

Wonderful place, great history!

A magical place with beautiful convict built buildings, lots of history and amazing accommodation with the best fireplaces. Lots of beautiful walks down to the river and plenty of animals for the kids to see. A great host — Thankyou Louise.

Great place to stay, extra good for kids.

As soon as I got out of the car, the strong fragrance of the flowers (especially the roses) was so inviting. We are staying in the coachman cottage and it’s so gorgeous with its old world charm. The fridge and cupboard is stocked with generous breakfast provisions, and a sneaky port for later. Peaceful and secluded, but not far from all the creature comforts. Highly recommend for something different. Thumbs up!

We had the most fantastic experience at Brickendon last weekend. The host (who’s name I missed) was absolutely lovely. She spent ages with us and our children, telling us about the site and the animals and allowing our children to feed and pat them all. Well worth a visit if you are near Launnie.

I couldn’t recommend Brickendon estate more! They went above and beyond to help make our special day amazing. Louise spent a lot of time making sure things were perfect, even down to ensuring my dress was right before I walked down the isle! Thanks so much for a perfect wedding ❤️

We’ve just spent the weekend exploring Brickendon and loved every second, we didn’t want to come home. This place is an absolute dream and I could quite easily live here. The owners are so welcoming and they even introduce you to all of the animals and let you feed them. Mr Higgins is the friendliest cat I’ve come across and he enjoyed spending the night in our cottage. We LOVE this place so much we’re looking at coming back at the end of September. I can’t wait to get married here in 15 months time.

A wonderful venue for a wedding. Brickendon could not have been more helpful in assisting us to plan our day, which meant we could focus on enjoying ourselves with family and friends. The homestead itself is great to explore, and it was an absolute treat to stay onsite and wake up to the sounds and sights of a working farm. We can’t wait to come back and spend some time here and soak up the history all over again.

Lovely cottage/farm stay. From the nighttime sky, the sunrise in the morning to the rooster making his noise in the morning — loved it all! And definitely a must see if you're into historic sites.

Very interesting. The DVD presentation about the Archer family was excellent and most helpful in understanding the amazing history and the connection with the Woolmer Estate. A must see.

Great place to visit with kids. Accommodation was authentic and enjoyed a BBQ outside our cottage iverlooking the paddocks instead of the local pubs which are very very basic. Great supermarket in town. Enjoyed our stay.

Brickendon is a wonderful relaxing place to stay, whilst you enjoy the history lesson this amazing place has to offer.

I had a great time at Brickendon. There was plenty to see and a lot to learn. Especially what it would have been like for people of a different era. Overall a great experience l.

Farm is lovely — feeding the animals was the highlight of our sons day.

It needs a makeover, is rundown, couldn't go inside the main house which was a major disappointment. Gardens were ok.

Lovely cottage but parts did need to be moderized.

Not terrible, but not anything to write home about. Don't go out of your way to come here, but if you're already passing through its worth a look.

Went to a wedding here. Was ok but accommodation was ordinary.

My husband and I are from Sydney NSW and we had our wedding here. It was an absolutely wonderful day and everything went perfectly. From the Chapel (built by convicts in about 1835 I believe) to the beautiful English gardens and trees, which made glorious backdrops for the photos, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. We look forward to returning Brickendon in the near future as it holds Lovely memories for us.

Staying in the farm accommodation is a lovely, cosy and rustic experience where you are surrounded by the sounds of a working farm and the history of colonial Tasmania.

One of the highlights of my trip — living in the Gardeners' Cottage! It's a dainty old cottage that looks unremarkable from the outside, but it is amazing once you enter (the old-school lock and HUGE key is cool) with great amenities and even an old-school bathtub. And feeding of animals in the morning. One of the highlights of my trip!

Really great experience. My daughter loved the animals and full of history for the adults!

We stayed in the Coachman's cottage which was fantastic and had everything a family needed. The open fire was a treat, especially when we toasted marshmallows! Breakfast provisions were generous too. The farm is worth seeing, such an interesting part of Australia's history. Louise was very friendly and helpful. The kids loved the animals and Louise patiently let them feed them all even in the rain. We'd highly recommend it.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful venue with us this past weekend. I had so many ideas of how I wanted everything to look and you were so happy to allow us free reign to do so (so long as the beautiful heritage buildings were given full respect)
Your farm animals were a big hit with our guests as were the fire pit marshmellows.
Louise and Corina were very attentive right down to Louise setting my dress to rights before I walked down the aisle.

Gorgeous setting for a wedding. Staff very considerate.

Great tour with Lorraine whom was super knowledgeable and passionate. Self guided is also available. Average pricing and stunning views. Not overrun with tourists and it's possible to have the whole place to oneself — — which is hard to come by these days. The garden is beautiful as well and they've maintained the place with great care.

The accommodation is wonderful. We stayed in one of the old cottages from the 1800s and it was great.

Not enough places like this exist in the world. Unfortunately there will always be someone who will find things to complain about, even at a place this adorable, 'rustic' (in the best of ways! ) and unique. Stay awesome! :)

On our drive from Cradle Mountain to Hobart we stopped at Brickendon. If you love to know about the early settlers and prisoner labour you should go visit. We loved the fact we were free to walk around the estate (which is still in use) and open up all the doors to discover the treasures left inside. The visit was informative and the estate beautiful. I'm glad we chose Brickendon as a stop on our road trip.

Must stay place. Beautiful does not describe it.

My sister had her wedding here. Was a really nice, historic and beautiful setting.

We visited to have a look at the historic sites. It is well kept, the staff are friendly and are happy to just let you wander around at your own pace. The kids loved feeding the animals and throwing the ball for the dog. The gardens across the road could be better signposted and have more signed information around but they are stunning as is the house and cottages. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Awesome stay. Must do for everyone. Please well worth the stay in the farm cottage, king size beds so comfy, all mod utilities, looks are deceiving. Great farm animals.

We had our wedding at Brickendon and couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. Louise was very generous with her time, showing us through the property on numerous occasions in order that we could organise and have suppliers set up the event. Louise keeps the property looking immaculate and ensured that not a flower was out of place and that the barn was spotless for our wedding. As an added benefit, Louise was even there on the day to help calm nerves! Our wedding guests enjoyed the ducks and other animals during our canapés in front of the lawn. We also had families staying in the cottages who all commented on what a wonderful experience it was to have the tame animals around. Thank you again for all your hard work Louise!
