Came across this place while ambling through Battery Point today. The food was one of the best meals we have had here in Hobart — and Tassie food is next level! Go the chowder it’s sensational!

Nice place for a quiet dinner. There were 2 large family groups near us, but the design of the dining room kept it quiet. Food is good and fresh. Friendly staff.

My daughter had a room last night they went out left money in their bag plus jewellery she bought for her friend for her bday and come back the money been taken jewellery gone first time ever she has booked a hotel and what an experience that is for a young girl toilet wouldn’t flush hot water wouldn’t work after she had tea out in your restaurant which I asked how was that she said that was nice she liked that one of guys that works their said your toilet don’t flush we will move you in different room now they didn’t ask anyone to go in their room to start with so y would anyone go into the room without permission when guest is already in their room I picked her up 630 this morning with her angry upset thrustrated I told her to tell someone she said what’s the point no proof and they won’t believe us which is sad cause u should be able to speak up about situations like this occur how many others have experienced this that say nothing as well as I no this happens in the world but never thought it would happen to someone I no.

Great new menu and service. Great decor and atmosphere in the dining room. Lamb should is sensational! Shame there is no salmon on the menu for a healthy, lighter option.

This is my favourite hotel tucked away in battery point. The food has been absolutely delish and the staff are super friendly. I highly recommend the Flathead and Thai salad!

Nice pub. Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and locals. Really good meals at great prices. Have really noticed a difference over the last couple of years and it's improved from a pretty good place to a must do again.

We stayed here last Friday and Saturday nights. We were extremely unimpressed by the place. The bathroom was not very clean at all and in the kitchen, you could write your name in the grease on the stove! As for the noise of the band both nights, they may as well of been in our bedroom. It was so loud! So disappointing. If this is how clean they keep their accommodation, then I would hate to think what their main kitchen looks like. There was no way we would even contemplate eating there! The rooms weren't maintained well at all with missing light globes, curtains that were very faded and too small for the windows, blankets quite old and marked… at least the sheets and towels were clean but quite old and used. Won't ever bother going back again.

We are visiting Hobart and have been eating dinner at the Prince of Wales in the evenings. Great food and a good selection of wines and beers. Staff are friendly and very obliging — I asked for hot veggies instead of salad with my fish of the day and this was no trouble for them. Live music last night made it a warm and comfortable place on a winter's evening.
